  1. The Engine looks good, just not sure of the the font used on the 5.0...doesn't look bad, but its not the font they used in the 1980s...LOL
  2. Ford engineers its engines not to have a major internal failure to 150K miles or so...I dont think this will be an issue
  3. It all depends on what you want...from what I understand, there are only like 3-4 different LCD manufactures in the world that make LCD displays and they are all in China or Tawain Here's an article about Samsung LCD displays http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/26/is-your...ung-not-always/ Anyways, from what I understand, Visio uses the same displays as Sony, LG, etc and with their lower prices is how they got their foot hold in the USA and became the largest LCD seller in the states. The make Good LCD displays for the price, but if spending an extra 200-500 bucks on a TV just for a brand name makes you feel better, well go ahead and do it. I can understand why you want to do it, but if say a Visio is 85-90% just as good as a major name brand at 200-500 cheaper, I'd rather save the $$$
  4. A friend of mine deals with used cars and when everyone saw an Eos and VW's less then stellar reputation, they just shook their heads...the whole system is way over engineered....typical German engineering...
  5. None-Camaro and Challenger=no glass roof or Convertible (yet)
  6. If he got it before December 31st (which I think he has) you can write it off...
  7. Interesting, I know several dealerships in my area that have "big" lots and they are about only 1/4 full now...I thought I saw that deanh said that FMC isn't wanting to pay big floorplan costs any more, thus the huge cut backs in the amount of inventory lots are now carrying. Its almost to the point now that dealerships are constantly trading with one another to get stock they need to move products in the Tristate Area where I live (NJ-PA-NY). Its rather frustrating for people to shop also since they can't find what they want. I went through this with a friend of mine getting her Escape and my parents had the same issue back in 2007/8 trying to find a Sable and settled on a floor model.
  8. None of them offer a glass roof or Convertible either.... But I hear your pain, thats the one thing I miss from my Focus SVT, a sunroof and the heated seats....at least they are on the SHO I want now
  9. I dunno, I just took a look at the Ford sales numbers for this year and last year...Ford sold 473K F-Series last year and 365K so far this year. Figuring that say the market stays at 500K F-series a year when the economy improves, you have 1 Super Duty plant that can build say 200K units and you still need another 200-250K per F-150 plant to keep up with the demand. Last time I checked, they can't build Trucks as fast as they can cars down the line (IIRC, EAP could build about 60 Escorts an hour, but when they did Rangers, it only made something like half of that)
  10. How the heck is Ford Supposed to keep up with demand for the F-150 then if KCAP closes? I don't think DTP can make 400K+ F-150s
  11. We don't know what they did till the camo comes off it and we see the real deal, I have a feeling its going to be more then just a restyling and the new Explorer will sit up at least 2-4 inches higher then the Taurus X...
  12. I'm sure that the Auto and Manual being used with the 5.0L V8 will be able to handle a Ecoboost 3.5L V6...but then again what is the point of putting EB V6 in a car that is already getting a 412HP V8? Its the SVO debacle again. Personally I'd love to see it, but I don't see a really strong business case for it, unless Ford wants a $40K limited production (2500-5K units) car to add to the Mustang lineup, but I think the vast majority of people will "settle" for a V8 GT with 412HP at a cheaper price
  13. I'd like know how a dealership in MI, which is experiencing pretty much a depression economically can carry so many models on its lots, where in other areas of the US, your lucky to find 2-4 models of the same car sitting on the lot
  14. Cheap doesn't always = good...if that was the case, Yugo would still be around. From what I've seen of the Chinese it takes them about 5 years or generations to get their shit together, but I'm still finding issues with their products nearly 4-5 years after that..just not as serious...
  15. What years did you own? I have to agree that the Edge is much more sorted vs the Explorer. I know the difference between the SN95 Mustang and S197 Mustang is like that...their is a huge difference between the two in every category. Hell there is a huge difference between the 05 Escape and the 2010 Escape..the 2010 Escape is MUCH better SUV then the 05 Model, even though they are on the same platform.
  16. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soccer_mom Weird thing is I don't see many (if at all) of them up in NJ, but see tons of them out in WI
  17. I got 2 foot of snow where I live at....and can report that a AWD V6 Escape is awesome in the snow...
  18. If they where going to keep the Wrangler true to the Heritage, they wouldn't have come out with a 4 door model  IMO adding an extra two doors to the Wrangler just made it another SUV.... And lets not forget what works for a company that sells under 200K units a year isn't going to work for a Full line company like Ford.
  19. Apparently who ever posted this don't have that information: http://twitter.com/Ford
  20. The 2002s did have issues with the rear ends....my parents Explorer kept making a whrrring sound from the rear diff...I never gave it much thought thinking it was a tire or something when I was riding in the back of it a couple times. It was replaced along with transmission, then the bell housing went on it a year later...so it was traded in on a 2008 Sable thats been flawless for them. Changing the transmission fluid ever 35K is overkill! I want to say that Ford recommends changing it every 50-75K. It boils down to this...I think the first year that the 5R55 was made, there was some sort of issue with it, maybe poor quality control or something. I remember seeing a website showing issues with the Explorer year to year....there was HUGE amount of Transmission and Rear end problems with the 2002 Models, but the 2003 models (subsequent years) had nearly 90% less failure rate vs the 2002 models.
  21. http://www.leftlanenews.com/2012-chevy-mal...e-platform.html Man GM is smoking something seriously bad here: Yep some extra chrome on the car is going make that turd sell better... :hysterical: At least Ford doesn't try to make all that extra Chrome on its cars a selling point!
