  1. So your obscure blog thinks the Earth is cooling because of a natural fluctuation they see on a chart? Did you even read any of the links I posted? Says who? YOU? Unfortunately for you climate scientists don't agree with you and your agenda. Our effect over time is massive, the facts prove this. Do you know anything about the Earth we live on? We've been pumping out greenhouse gasses into our relatively thin atmosphere for over 150 years now, where do you think that all goes? The Earth is like a giant greenhouse, and the more CO2 we keep pumping into the atmosphere the more heat is trapped, and the Earth gets warmer, these are basic facts. And it's based on nothing but opinions and disinformation. Unless you are an executive for a big oil company I can't see any logical reason to keep up this charade..
  2. You are aware that in some areas the earth gets cooler, while in others it gets warmer, right? What matters is the global average temperature, which is rising. And in some places, like Alaska and Siberia it's rising faster than anywhere causing all sorts of problems with melting permafrost. http://www.thewe.cc/weplanet/news/arctic/p...ost_melting.htm http://www.ens-newswire.com/ens/sep2006/2006-09-07-01.asp http://www.livescience.com/environment/051...permafrost.html There's also the global glacier retreat that is happening, no matter what big business tries to deny, it's real. I don't see how anyone can deny these facts. http://nsidc.org/sotc/glacier_balance.html

  4. I'm a single young man who is about to start a dream job for a large automotive company, wish it was Ford, but it involves cars, very nice ones, so it's still good. I might be able to give more details, probably not much though as it deals with future product.
  5. RWD is NOT "less fuel efficient" than FWD, I don't know where you heard that propaganda. And one thing which is a irrefutable fact, is that RWD gets better fuel economy than AWD, which is what Ford is forced to use since FWD can't handle the power needed in these large vehicles. AWD is heavier, and less efficient, it makes zero sense to use heavy FWD/AWD vehicles when RWD can do the job better. Ford has two choices, they can either build cars to betheir best, or they can try to nickle and dime their way to profitability (we see how disastrous that was throughout the beginning of this decade) by building cars to be "just good enough". I don't know what more needs to be said to some people to get them to realize that people who have sworn off American brands won't be coming back to buy American cars that are "just good enough", you've got to wow these people with cars that are head and shoulders above what the imports are selling. Nobody who drives a Lexus, Mercedes, or BMW is going to buy a Ford Taurus with a Lincoln badge on it.
  6. I don't see how, they've got nothing going for them.. I see them on a daily basis here in L.A. Can't stand them, for that kind of money you can get a beautiful car like an Aston Martin and save some cash as well.
  7. Where were hypocrites like you the last 8 years? Do you even know the extensive relationship between the Bush family and the Saudi royal family???
  8. Everything made by Bentley/Rolls is ugly as sin, especially that droopy, style-free, melted bar of soap aka the Continental GT..
  9. VERY nice!!! FUD not only has PS skill, he's got taste... I'm still amazed Ford chose to not change anything on the SHO to differentiate it from the regular Taurus..
  10. Yea, with the "performance package" you get upgraded pads, which means they start to fade a little later, but they still fade and can't perform like the car is being marketed. It might stop great the first time, but after that it's Fred Flinstone time. I have the same problem with my Focus, I put some Hawk HPS's on it which work great, until they overheat and the car won't stop, however, the SVT Focus brakes with OEM pads don't have that problem. Why do you think the GT500 has 14" front rotors with 4 piston Brembo's? For the looks? Heck it would have been parts bin, I would pay more for them from the factory. It's just always been a pet peeve of mine, my first car was a Fox Mustang, I know what it's like to have worthless, dangerous brakes, so I've always felt cars should have reserve braking power, especially performance oriented cars. Ford got it right on the SVT vehicles, but other than that they seem to engineer them to be "just good enough". Some of the cars that came out around the beginning of this decade had best in class brakes, the Escape and the Focus being two of them, and we all remember what happened to the brake performance on the newer Escape, it performs worse than the original. I just feel that the first time we see a review on a twisty mountain road the car will get hammered for the brakes, I don't want that to happen.
  11. Every review I've seen on new Ford's they complain about the brakes, they added 100 horsepower and torque to the car, yet changed nothing else, didn't beef up the brakes which is pretty much SOP in the car world when you add big power. Even the cheaper Hyundai Genesis with the track pack has big brakes with Brembo calipers. It's just a cheap oversight, and a safety issue.
  12. Back what up? that it doesn't come with Brembo's or even larger rotor's at least? Do I really need to?
  13. I just don't get why they didn't upgrade the brakes, sporty cars costing 10k less come with nice stuff such as Brembo's, and the brakes on the pedestrian version have had complaints, with all that power they are using the same brakes??
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to put it on the D3 to "save fuel". I wonder what they'd say after the 4300 pound porker got worse mpg than the old "evil RWD V8's"? Kind of like the D3's do now compared to their RWD competition.
  15. What "flavor" do rancid trans fats add to food? Do you even know why they are bad?
  16. LOL, like what? Do you have any idea what's in those dressings they sell you?
  17. You might check your sources before posting links to a corporate propaganda website, just sayin... http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Front_groups
  18. I got to sit in one today, shame I had other plans and could not go drive the thing later.. They look great in person, hopefully Ford doesn't screw the styling up before it comes here, same for the interior, everything felt great, the dash was this really soft high quality material, at least now I know what to look for when we get them next year. Shame it's so far away when the car exists elsewhere.. I was surprised by the amount of legroom it has for such a small car, I want one, 5 door hatch of course, since we are not getting the 3 door. No idea what the Ka was doing there.
  19. Yes, don't cars only account for about 20% of all air pollution as well? That's what I remember hearing, so what about the other 80%?
  20. What about when it's cold? I bought a black car knowing it gets really hot in the summer, but it also gets nice and toasty inside on those cold winter days, which leads me to having to use the heater less, I guess they didn't think of that.. I swear that CARB must just it around at night coming up with new ways to piss people off, we should throw them into the ocean, and chum it up real good first..
  21. Hell yea, just think of the millions of smoke blowers...I mean, leaf blowers going on everyday in this state, those evil contraptions have no pollution controls, and just kick up a bunch of dust into the air, why don't the assholes at CARB do anything about them?
  22. I never really knew, I just cursed the bastards most of my life, I tried to find some info about them online unsuccessfully, trust me, being a car nut out here.... You have no idea how much I hate them along with other car people. They are like the car Gestapo, yet I never seem to hear anything about pollution from airplanes, heavy industry, or agriculture. I think they really are Satan's spawn! Interesting.. I have to agree, I've never once seen any candidate talk about CARB, or be asked about it, and I'd bet 99% of people don't even know it exists, car people know because they are the pricks who make our lives miserable. Exactly who can we vote for that would stop them? It's like some government bureaucracy, we're stuck with it it seems.. I don't think either of the allowed candidates would ever do anything to curtail CARB's powers, as they are seen as nothing but since they exist to lower pollution, supposedly. If they really gave a damn about pollution, they'd leave us alone and go after agriculture, heavy industry, and try to do something about the overpopulation here. No matter how clean they try to make cars, it won't matter when you keep adding millions of people. One thing they do that really sucks is the roadside smog checkpoints, they are like DUI checkpoints, they actually will yank you off the road, no matter if you're late to work or have somewhere else to be, and put your car on a mobile dyno, and if you fail, they can impound your car.
