I certainly hope the fit and finish issues are resolved soon. My Five Hundred is screwed together flawlessly. Tight gaps, even seams, and no squeaks or rattles to speak of in 65K miles of service.

Rent a premium with budget. I always get a Grand Marquis. And if they're out, a Towncar.

Hopefully someone at Chicago Assembly plant stumbles on this and they try to correct it before Job #2 gets too deep into production.

A lot of the 2010 Tauruses I see for sale online and one I looked at in person had a horribly aligned trunk. I noticed when I was looking at one this weekend in person. I thought the trunk was open, but it was not. The problem is, the chrome trim around the taillight bezels makes it look even worse when its off. Maybe this is a matter of adjusting the rubber stoppers for correct alignment, but I'm really surprised to see all these units around online and a few in person that looked like this. Is anyone else seeing this? This one below seems worse than the others....driver side looks low, passenger side looks a tad high. This one actually looks correct....

I hear that starting Friday Nov 20, the 2010 SHO has a $600 dollar price increase on the Job 2 car. And for that 600 dollars, the backup camera is now a 'standard' item on the SHO. Anyone else know any changes on the Job 2 car? I understand some people were griping about the lack of a Redline on the tach, wasnt sure if that change was implemented or not.

I noticed that the 2010 SHOs have two different kinds of bumpers. These show the driver side bumper 'triangle' solid. This SHO, has the driver side bumper 'triangle' vented.... Does anyone know why these bumpers are different, or was this a running change?

Interesting, I just tried it again, and the option wasn't available, but I just talked to another friend who tried it and was able to do it with 400A. I tried again and was able to order it too..... Or maybe someone at Ford is reading this forum and realized the mistake....

Just was playing with the build configuration, and I see that you cannot order the SHO Performance Package without getting rapid spec 401A or 402A. So, MSRP of $37,995 + 2000 dollars for a moonroof and sony stereo+ 995 for the SHO Perf Pack is almost 41K for a Taurus. My only hope is that someone out there buys what I want, and wait a few years for them to sell. Either that or it will be a slow seller like the Marauder, and I'll get a steal on one.

98+ Vics were either 2.73, 3.27, or 3.55.

Purolator L22500. It looks to me that the FL500S and FL820S are identical in mounting face and thread pitch. I am getting rid of about half a dozen 03 3.0Ls and have more 09s coming in. I'll see if the FL820S will even go in there. I know on the 08s, the oil filter access is a huge pain the arse.

Get a horn from a Pre 05 Escape. They were dual note. on my COntour SVT, I grabbed a horn from a Grand Marquis from a junkyard, worked just fine.

First set of Michelin Cross Terrains on my 02 Explorer XLT V8 lasted 33K, 2nd Set made it to 90K. Same Cross Terrains...or are they? I remember my crown vic came new with Michelin XW4 that lasted 25K miles. The next set of XW4 lasted 58K. I may be incorrect, but I suspect that sometimes the tires that are supplied to auto manufacturers may not be of the same durability as whats sold to consumers at the retail level.
