  1. We have to organize the transplants to ultimately remove the 2 tier wage system.

  5. OHAP votes on the 16th noon to 5
  6. What is OHAPs employment level going to be? 1700+ on 2 shifts?
  7. hanginon... I believe it will be low volume...until they say everyone is staying and they'll run 2 shifts with it I'm convinced OHAPs numbers will fall considerably. As for the stamping.....it looks like there's just cabs. I have no clue where the parts for them will come from. None of the stamping highlights specifically mention these trucks, though there's vague sounding language in Buffalo's description with the mention of future product programs. I wonder how much investment there will be for painting the cabs of those trucks versus the entire van we build now....? That's always been a plant's key to survival in this day....flexible body/paint shops. Not much flexibility with these big boys! :D
  8. Sharp, I have to agree with Fired here. We're running 2 shifts with near 1800 people. I can't convince myself that these big trucks and the motorhome chassis can possibly require the same manpower. There's no way the volume is anywhere close to the Econoline. I could be wrong, but it's hard to see the plant employment level staying the same. 128 million seems small. If anyone can refresh my memory because I can't recall the exact amount.....they spent millions on paint equipment in Lorain and never ran a car through it. They spent money on the E-550 experiment and barely made any of those....
  9. I was looking at that. Wow....that would be terrible. What's the logic behind going to a schedule like that anyway? Do all of the 3 shift operations run that?
  10. This is what I think too. I've tried to envision a positive, but I just cannot see how the heavy truck/chassis can ever carry the employment capacity that the Econoline carried. I'm waiting to hear more though.....
  11. hanginon.... This is what I "THINK" is coming to OHAP...... http://www.ford.com/commercial-trucks/strippedchassis/ http://www.ford.com/commercial-trucks/f650-f750/ Reason I say think....is because these are in Mexico as of now and it says that OHAP is getting medium duty trucks from Mexico. Along with the motorhome chassis. Its hard to track down much info on these models being they aren't everyday models and they're in Mexico. I have no clue about the cabs....where theyre stamped, or where they will be stamped/made in the U.S., whether the plant will do any aftermarket to them....we really don't have a clue at this time.
  12. Mexico....I can't find any numbers. Wiki list of all the plants doesn't specify any employment numbers for the Mexican plants. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ford_factories
  13. I'm wondering what the employment level is going to be at OHAP. 2 shifts and 1800 people to build heavy trucks and motorhome frames?
  14. ehh, I don't know about this..... Walton Hills was tied pretty heavily to the Econoline. The Econoline is dead in a few years. That's probably where the bulk of that decision was. Not saying it's cool. I hate to see any plant close.....I've been a part of one. What else do they stamp at WH?
  15. There were plenty of yes votes around when my original plant closed......
  16. I think it's a good idea. The execs get bonuses and this, I don't think it's a bad idea to throw some our way in addition to normal bonuses.
  17. The 3700 is for the first 6 months of this year. It was "accelerated". Next march we will get the profit share of the last half of this year instead of a full amount of 2011.
  18. Strictly profit share is 12K....the larger number combines the inflation bonuses, the $250 competitive bonus, signing bonus etc......along with the profit share.....to get that average. Page 519 of the contract states the 12K max
  19. I see 128 million in highlights from news organizations but im still looking at contract for it....
  20. I had to wait a bit....but i got it. Its almost 13 MB in size....just an fyi. Could be harder on those with slower connections.
  21. Tentatively....some details http://www.freep.com/article/20111004/BUSINESS0102/111004010/Ford-UAW-agreement-calls-5-750-new-jobs?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|FRONTPAGE Overtime after 8 is back.... 1 billion investment at KCAP.... 500 million at AAI..... 128 million at OHAP....
  22. This is an excerpt from a Washington Post Business article.... Ford’s car sales fell 8 percent, largely because of slowdowns in sales of the Focus small car and Taurus big sedan. Ford has had trouble meeting demand for the Focus for several months. Sounds like it's not related to customer demand. Lordstown is running 3 shifts.....Wayne's only on 2...correct? Just sounds to me like we have the orders, but just cant get them to dealers as fast as GM is.
  23. This was all over OHAP too ......yesterday....
  24. When Lorain closed we all stayed. Took pictures, talked...gathered at the end of chassis for the last job. We also had a lottery drawing for a new F-150 so there were plenty of folks around. Once you left there was no coming back in....but nobody was forced to leave.
