  1. You have configured the alerts to be on, in the Fordpass app click on Vehicle, expand Safety & Security then Securealert. It allows you configure times the alerts are active or if they are on all the time.
  2. Basically, we have to use Chinese and Korean Companies for batteries as no U.S. company has patents to make them so OEMs MUST go to these companies if they want to build the electric cars the government is mandating. We didn't invest in it over the past 30 years so it is stupid to complain about it.
  3. Maybe if we as a country had focused on battery research over the past 30 years the way the Koreans and Chinese have done we wouldn't have needed to partner with outside companies. Our University's have been come obsessed with the Theoretic aspects of science not the marketable types of it; and Industry led by accountants and MBAs have become obsessed with the bottom line and out source every component them can because they care more about the quarter and year than year 5 and 10 or even 20. Then you get into grant agencies of funding research labs that is focused on the person who runs the lab than what actually the lab produces and worse even after it is published YOU CAN'T DUPLICATE THE RESULTS!
  4. Unfortunately going to be a long wait if you want the 360 Cameras, as they currently are on a scheduling hold (along with the front camera on the Edge) the F-150 just lost the bed camera but did gain back the heated steering wheel.
  5. Chicago, but Ford doesn’t have any press conferences scheduled.
  6. Dead, just like the idea that a Journalist or Politicians should represent everyone. Not just some demographic or small group that will get them elected in the primary election.
  7. But that doesn't fit the narrative or agenda a group is trying to push which in the end is just get clicks on an article. As you point out even the data in the study doesn't align with the headline. AEG released a paper about mid priced EV electric vehicle now costing more to power than mid priced EV ICE vehicles. (https://s3-prod.autonews.com/2023-01/EV%20Cost%20Analysis%202022%20Q4%20Update.pdf) with the headline of "Gas-Powered Cars Cheaper to Fuel Than Electric in Late 2022 " but isn't the full truth as that just applies to mid-priced ev, luxury EV are still significantly cheaper to power than ICE.
  8. Why do you think something will not be shown to replace it this year?
  9. Stay tuned for Lincoln plans this year; you'll start to see a better picture of where they are going. The lineup will be growing over the next few years not shrinking.
  10. Probably the safety with the push button start where it kicks on the engine when a door is open to remind the driver to turn off the engine. Is it when it gets put in park when it kicks on? Like if you take your seatbelt off and open the drivers door it will automatically go into park if you're stopped/low speed. Have to save the idiots of the world...
  11. Light at the end of the tunnel for both production numbers and pricing is when the labor shortage and absenteeism issues wane.
  12. It is more than just battery packs, they are short other components as well and getting those made are a challenge with the labor shortage in the suppler industry. A Lighting or Mach-E ER battery cell usage can build about 65 other hybrids. ER Lighting would be over 80 If it was just a battery pack issue Ford would sacrifice 2000 units to build 120,000 hybrids.
  13. Less total claims for sure just on the volume, plus some can be completed with just a remote software update. But total number per vehicle can be high, the 2021 and 2022 vehicles have had a lot of recalls. My 2021 was in the shop for over eight weeks in 2021, and parents 2022 was in the shop for almost 2. They have to get that under control, from both a customer experience perspective as well as just raw costs.
  14. It’s not perhaps, it is Billions and it is killing the companies competitiveness. Warranty costs are brutal. In a traditional market, market it would have been ugly, they would have been able to manufacture considerably more vehicles with the defects and wouldn’t have have the pricing power and margins. In the first 9 months of 2020 Ford has 2 billion more in warranty costs than GM. While GM did recall more vehicles in 2021 (8 million) than Ford it still not a good thing recalling 5.4 million vehicles.
  15. I don’t know what you know so I can not confirm or deny that statement. This will be a big year for Ford Motor future from Farley’s plan starting to gain traction which will leave big marks all over the company this year. There is also a ton of updated product that will be hitting dealers over the next 12 months. The quality is the wildcard in all of this, the recall costs are blowing holes in everything.
  16. You'll probably be more angry at some future announcements, though should be somewhat happy come fall and some of the announcements then. In the end Ford still manufactures more vehicles in the U.S. than any other manufacture. Some of this production is to get more Mavericks and Bronco Sports for World Wide consumption where there is tremendous demand. Mexico trade agreements make it a much better location for exports than the US from both a tariff and labor cost perspective.
  17. Will be nice to see Lincoln having a fully refreshed lineup within 18 months.
  18. Not all of them, going to depend where they live. Majority of people I know in the Midwest, Canada or PNW and south would say this is perfect, I can drive everyday and not use any fuel yet when I want to go on a weekend road trip I don't have to stop for 40 min every 250miles. In Southern California or East coast they would think it was a waste as you say.
  19. They already do that, you can opt in to programs that you pay different prices based on time of day use. Others have if you use over a certain amount the additional kW will charged at a higher rate. Some programs go even farther where you lose control of your thermostat during high demand times and the utility can change the temperature in exchange for lower rates. At some point these programs will move from optional to mandatory and in some areas have already become mandatory.
  20. Don't out You can get it on an Outerbanks model now, just lose it if you get the Sasquatch package.
  21. https://europe.autonews.com/automakers/ford-will-be-more-american-europe-it-goes-all-electric Ford is revamping its marketing with a slogan called "Adventurous Spirit," which it says stands for the American values of "freedom, outdoors and adventure." Bronco will be sold in some Europe markets starting next year, market share doesn't support European exclusive vehicles. Lightning, Electric Explorer, BS and Maverick will join certain markets in future years.
  22. The current issue with this is going to be getting those chargers installed at dealerships, less than 20% of the dealers that have applied to one of the major utilities in Metro Detroit are in a location that the grid can handle for installation of rapid chargers. While upgrades are coming this is going to be a short/mid term issue over the next few years while the grid upgrades are going on. One of the biggest challenges in charging right now is charger location and having excess local grid capacity.
  23. Currently they are just modified versions of current platforms. Why they have some short comings which should be fixed in future generations.
  24. Size of the files is presenting an issue for LTE; downloading 6GB of data on LTE is having failures and higher packet loss than that of WiFi or 5G in areas like garages where cellular is limited. They could do downloads via Wi-Fi then do random checksums on the package to check integrity of the WIFI download, or do 10% over LTE and match the keys. I had to have my truck updates done at the dealer after the ProPower update bricked itself from being able to update. It should be fixed when the 5G modems are out but the large packages and LTE downloads are not playing nice. I should add that AT&T S*** network don't help.
