  1. Methinks this thread has a date with one of our moderators...
  2. Do a little research. Rarely do I read a more ill-conceived statement than yours. Here in America, even those at the bottom of the income ladder are overfed, have a TV (or two), and a cell phone. Compared to most places on earth, that's considered rich. If there is one idea, one concept most responsible for this standard of living, it's economic liberty aka the free market. Proof? Look at the places in our world today without one. Ever wondered why you don't see people trying to sneak IN to North Korea or China?
  3. Additionally, a lot of Ford's durability testing standards are so high because many owners load to 2x capacity, then slap a chip in them to pull the extra. If it breaks, they'll complain that it wasn't as tough as their last one. Bottom line: these standards aren't necessarily supposed to simulate real-world conditions, but more to illustrate a standard Ford truck owners have come to expect. 'Built Ford Tough' isn't just a cute tag line!
  4. I would say that with all the EGR plumbing on the 6.4, this might still be less expensive and less complex. The 6.4 looks like a ball of pipes when it's on a stand. Swizco
  5. You forgot about the flux capacitor. Swizco
  6. http://news.pickuptrucks.com/2009/06/sneak...uel-engine.html Check it out! Swizco UPDATE: Thanks!
  7. In lieu of the level of debate to which our country has sunk, I'd like to tell all those who don't agree with me to . Swizco
  8. How long either pres has been in office has nothing to do with it. My point was that the same people that for 8 years made their opposition to Ws agenda well known, now can't seem to grasp how anyone could disagree with Obama or oppose his agenda. I think much of what Obama has accomplished in 5 months and has planned for the next 3.5 years is bad for the country. I love the country. Therefor, I hope Obama does not succeed in his agenda. 9. Hindsight is always 20-20, isn't it? If you were so sure of the housing crisis 6 years ago, you could have made a fortune on a few thousand dollars, and be posting from your own private island right now. Maybe you are, but I doubt it. Bottom line, you were an economic nay-sayer right through the years of growth, like so many on the editorial pages that predicted recession for 5 straight years, then acted vindicated when one finally came along. I can predict it's going to rain for two weeks, but that doesn't make me right when it finally does. You know what? I predict that there will be an economic recovery, followed by several years of prosperity. After that, there will be a recession. Allow me to get out in front of this next one, so when it happens, I can say I knew it was coming all along. You know what? I'll predict one after that, too. And another. 'Simple Action' was what the previous administration proposed back when they tried to reign in Fanny and Freddie. Dems opposed, and here we are, beyond where 'simple action' can keep us out of the red. However, just because we're beyond the prevention stage, don't think for a minute Obama's hand was forced into spending trillions that we don't have on 'stimulus' and 'solutions'. We are witnessing the largest govmnt power grab in modern history, and it ain't W's fault, or his making. Swizco
  10. Any insider info regarding EB powertrains in the MKX? Last I worked on the CD3 twins was before I left the company a year ago, and I imagine things have changed since. At that point, the 3.7 was scheduled for the MKX. Swizco
  11. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/hot_li...est+page-4.html Read all about it! Swizco
  12. Let me try to be more specific with the joke, here: //SARCASM "So they just took an 'ol Mazda and stuck a few chassis updates under it? That'll never be competitive! Typical Ford." //END SARCASM Swizco
  13. Side windows are laminated as well on the limited, though not by law. Swizco
  14. Hermo is unionized, and in my view struck a better balance than a lot of UAW plants at which I worked - its a lot more of a partnership between plant staff and the union, rather than an adversarial relationship. Workers have channels to have grievances addressed, to keep them from getting pushed around. Ford in turn offers the best benefits in town (free lunch, free bus to and from the plant, etc). As a result of more trust in the union-salary relationship, process changes and containment actions are easier to achieve, and quality improves. It also makes the plant a lot more pleasant place to work. Just my 2c. :stats: Swizco
  15. A rocket sledding hits a car and... it blows up everywhere. That's enough to keep me amused! Yes, working out the physics on a blackboard will give you an answer, but if you can't conceptualize the delta in amusement factor between that and a 700mph rocket sled, there's just no reaching you. 16. I disagree. After reading your loony protectionist rant, common sense is exactly what I wanted to see. He even threw in some humor! Well done all. Swizco
  17. How's this? <----- ...right. About the 'way forward'. I like it. :reading: Swizco
  18. <------ I'm still a 'New Member'?? That's rubbish. Swizco
  19. Even automotively clueless students I interact with are noticing the differences between Ford and the other domestics. Something is in the air, for sure. I'll be closely watching the (hopefully pending) economic recovery and the accompanying rise in auto sales. I'll bet Ford will pick up a lot of share. Swizco
  20. I'd make it 5-0. When I want relentless negativity, I turn on the news. Swizco
