Steve You are just the man I have been waiting to see on Bon. Do you know why the apprentices where put on in the first place, when myself and many other where setting in the Wixom gen bank. We where told we were not able to transfer to AAI because of there compined trades. Then after the apprentices where put on they said we could transfer, but now there where no open spots because of apprentices put on course.

This trades going to production and the temp postings have made things even more unclear. Stuckindtp have you been asked if you wouldn't like to work as a temp M/W at Map ?

You said it would be there home plant. If it was truely there home plant, no one with less time would be working there trade while they are on the line. Just trying to follow your logic. Don't want to get into a pissing contest about this. Can you name one time that a person has done what you say they can, while someone with more time in zone didn't get to bid the job.

So you are saying someone could transfer to a new plant as production and then bump a guy in trades with less time out of his or her job ? If you are from a closed plant such as wixom. Gainer was in charge of gen from Iuaw for Wixom. I'm sure I have miss spelled his name . I think he has retired now.

I don't think you are correct about a trades transfering as production to another plant jumping ahead of others that didn't go to production. Level wrote on hear that would not happen. And Gainer told us from wixom that that would not happen. A guy with two years jumping a head of a guy with thirty plus, I don't think so. You don't jump ahead because you transfered in. If you are from a plant and got layed then you get picked back up first.

I'm layed off from Wixom and was told it was a survey also. I wouldn't read to much into that.

The following is SPECULATION : Perhaps using the energy park allows for special taxes breaks. I would love to be back at Wixom, but my bet would be Wayne assy for the battery assy.

Keep in touch with your freinds from your closed plants. When you see postings go up call them and have them do the same. When someone new shows up at the plant where you work, makes sure they didn't skip over one of your coworkers. The company makes a lot of mistakes with who gets what on the posting. When you hear something, walk down to labor and check it out, plus check with the skilled trades chairmen at your new plant.

Capt: Do you know if the tradesmen from Wixom can sign up for the retraining ? Labor at Wanye assy told one of the miiwrights that is working as a temp millwright at map he could not sign up because he is working as a temp tradesmen, but another Millwright at saline that went to temp production can sign up. What the hells going on with that ?

Your right about believing everything you hear, just passing it along. And as far as waiting for a job, I'm working as a temp. at map.

This was for temp postings and the guys I'm talking about where from closed plants. That may be the difference.

They had better asked people in zone then out of zone before they hire off the street. Are you a temp at dtp ?

They where not forced to production, they went to production because they where running out of sub. They went to different plant as temp production.

I heard they will need two hundred more production people when they make the move.

It happens all the time. You take a production job at another plant, and the trades people there have plant time over you.

That must suck, you are a mllwright working production at dearborn and there are temp millwrights at saline working overtime. .Didn't they give you the chance to go back.
