  1. Man, looks like Toyota designers were looking at an Enclave while attempting not to be too obvious. Once again, Toyota has no creativity in design...they take what others have done already and Toyota-fy it.
  2. The Toyota snowball is growing larger and larger. The defects are multiplying and people are beginning to take notice. They deserve everything they have coming.
  3. You know, if you are able to pony up money on an Infiniti or BMW, I don't think it matters too much how expensive a replacement bumper is going to be. A more interesting study would have been for regular cars where something like that might put a strain on some peoples' budgets.
  4. Considering that article about the Kuga made mentions of Ford and Lincoln crossover replacements without ANY mention of Mercury, I'm starting to fear the worst. With FoMoCo whittled down to Ford, Lincoln, Mazda, and maybe Volvo, it just seems like there's suddenly a lot of market share gone. Lincoln has no worldwide presence to fill the void of Jaguar and Land Rover. Mercury seemed like its getting Oldsmobiled. It's really sad to see the umbrella slowly being stripped apart. If they're going to kill Mercury, I'd rather them stop beating around the bush, come out front and say it rather than treating us like GM treated the Oldsmobile fans.
  5. Man, it's almost worth it to buy the GT instead of those that buy the V6 to save fuel...the numbers really aren't all that different, especially if you get a stick.
  6. I just can't get over Wantanabe's sudden epiphany... Holy cow, what a radical notion! Captain Wantanabe to the rescue!
  7. WOW, they just figured this out NOW? Man, Toyota is dumber than I thought. That San Antonio truck plant sure was a good idea, wasn't it!
  8. That's the biggest bald-faced lie I ever read. Isn't it just a huge COINCIDENCE that Toyota stepped up fleet sales this year as they are trying to fulfill the hype of surpassing GM as the world's largest automaker? I mean, the media harped and harped on it all last year that 2007 would the THE YEAR...so of course Toyota's gotta save face and make sure it happens. Who cares if the residuals take a hit as long as we got the bragging rights!
  9. It must be opposite day at TTAC...every day. Most of the media now recognizes that the domestics are doing better and improving in quality and profitability, yet TTAC has still has the Death Watch. Everybody says the Panthers are antiques and need to go the way of the dodo bird and the 8-track, and here's TTAC advocating saving them. Sometimes I wonder if that whole publication is just one big joke.
  10. Paris is kinda like the bears in Yellowstone...nice to look at from a safe distance, just don't venture too close!
  11. That Sebring looked retarded and out of place. As did the video...boy how hip hop has tumbled. Not long now before it becomes the "hair metal" of this decade.
  12. To Antaus: Yeah, I feel the same way. You just can't walk away from 200,000 customers like GM did with Oldsmobile. I can't imagine that Ford spends that much money on a brand that is mostly rebadges anyway...they should just hang onto it until the time comes that they can give some serious effort into differentiating it. I'm one of the weird ones that if Ford would build a new Mercury Cougar, I would buy it just to be different even though I'm a huge Mustang fan. I'm sure Mercury buyers are the same way. They have built an image as the "techy and trendy" urban brand within Ford and it seems to be resonating with the types of people who buy them. Plus, Mercury scores well on JD Powers and other auto rating sites. For Ford just to walk away now would be a mistake.
  13. Someone over at GMI claims to have insider knowledge of a Mercury phase-out plan that would eliminate the brand by 2012. I did a search here and didn't find any recent threads on this subject, so I was just wondering if his info holds any water or if its just another one of the other 1,835 rumors "from a friend who has an uncle who knows somebody that works at Ford" on what is going to be done with Mercury. I like the Mercury brand and would hate to see it go. http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50174
  14. I think when the dust settles decades from now, we will look back on global warming hysteria as one of the biggest scams of our time. Create enough panic, and one can get all the political backing they need to fulfill whatever agenda they desire.
  15. Man, that is perhaps the greatest animated smiley I have ever seen! I love this one too ---> Great for one someone makes a really dumbass comment and you just want to rub it in. These two should be standard on all message boards!
  16. I've seen the sales figures, and I'm seeing an Escape that is within 600 units of the CR-V for June, an Edge that has already crested the 12K mark (and outselling the Highlander and within 2000 units of the RAV4), a Taurus that has sold 5800 in its second month with production still ramping up, and overall decent sales for the rest except for the old timers like the Panthers and Ranger. Even the F-series is hanging on well despite the fact a refresh is around the corner. What are you seeing?
  17. Talk about free advertising for Ford...I wonder how many places this picture made the news? It's a tragedy that somebody died, however.
  18. http://www.toyotaweekly.com/forums/index.php?showuser=15 Lol...he's "staff" on a message board that has 24 members. I believe I saw a tumbleweed roll across the page when I was visiting. Maybe that's why the doof goes around to other boards to trash talk...there ain't shit going on at his!
  19. No, I think it was just someone passing some gas.
  20. What's even worse is when you're a guy like Tommy where you actually go to another message board and start up a topic just to trash talk a forum where you spend most of your time trolling. I mean Christ, that just screams desperation and possible unemployment (or perhaps he's in high school and is one of those types that "gets off" from stirring up shit on message boards). Either way, I think it's best for those like him to back away from the keyboard and take up a hobby, or perhaps join a local sports league or even maybe take up a Meals on Wheels route. At least Medicare Mabel will enjoy his daily visits!
  21. Sad, bitter, and pathetic is the perfect description for losers that come on a Ford forum when they have no interest in the company in the first place.
  22. Man, I love laughing at Toyota's expense. They're the only manufacturer I want to see go down in flames...hell Kia can become #1 for all I care! Karma's a bitch.
