  1. It was the right thing to do. Just a factoid for the obituary: while more recently Mercury has been touted as being more attractive to women, it was not historically seen as a "woman's" car. Check out some of these old ads, particularly this one: http://multimedia.detnews.com/pix/photogalleries/autosgallery/FordMercuryAds/index51.html
  2. Two different designs here; which one is for the Edge and what car is the other one for? They are both very attractive.
  3. Whether they are a POS or not, they do have five-cylinder engines --or at least came with them from the factory, before they melted down into an unrecognizable blob.

  5. I think the obvious solution is to cut off suspects' feet if they don't fit. Either that or stuff them into the trunk. It's pretty large.
  6. TTAC isn't the most popular site around here, but this may be amusing nevertheless: http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/car-and-d...test-flow-chart
  7. Note also the carpet on the passenger's side ... looks like another item that will be cleaned up in production models. When will the embargo end?
  8. Night Panel is a switch that turns off the illumination for all of the controls except the speedometer. Its intent is to reduce driver distraction at night.
  9. They do have their deal with Nissan, so it seems they've got it covered. Sadly, Chrysler-Fiat will probably be about as successful as the Axis.
  10. Well, Latin will do in a pinch, I suppose. Of course "Hoi Polloi" is also the title of a classic Three Stooges short.
  11. You are confusing two different awards. The NA COTY award is given by auto journalists from all over the US and Canada. The 2010 Taurus won a poll of Detroit News readers.
  12. He was on NPR the other day complaining that he wasn't getting a bonus and had to stand in the Northwest check-in line with the hoi polloi.
  13. Maybe he was crying over how much money it cost to make the Five Hundred the car it should have been in the first place.
