  1. http://www.autoblog.com/2011/03/23/2012-ford-fiesta-gets-sport-appearance-package-with-slight-perfo/ Kind of like the Black/White combo....hopefully they will rework the seat bottom length and angle...
  2. If you look at many of the early release order guides, product guides, etc. they only mention heated seat "cushions" which in Ford speak is the seat bottom..this is the way the Fiesta's are listed and that is the way they are equipped..also I remember reading in another thread of comments about the cushion only being heated.
  3. Looking at the 2012 Focus service manual (section 501-10) the front seat exploded view illustrates heating elements on both the cushion and backrest. :happy feet: Not entirely sure, but it may mean we will have heaters on both portions of the seat. However, it may also be possible that these illustrations may have migrated from over the pond, where this equipment would be installed due to the higher content of EuroFoci. Does anyone know of anything to the contrary (other than ordering guide, which may contain some errors.)
  4. It is possible that what he saw was one of the early production units that Ford have been sending out to dealers for a familiarization before production models arrive..our Ford store had one for a few days a couple weeks ago.
  5. I have had my SEL for a week now and the only quibble I have is the seat bottom cushion could be a little longer, with a bit more angle to it (it falls away at the front) and have higher side bolstering, like the Individual package in Europe does...otherwise the leather is very supple and comfortable even though it lacks lumbar adjustment. Also it is very quiet in the cabin. Very delighted with that. I guess I would like to see rear disc brakes...but the OEM setup works very well.
  6. Picked up my Fiesta SES with PowerShift on Saturday, and I must say other that not being able to manually control shifts, it is a flawless gearbox. Just a little fidgity after a cold start-temps below 25 degrees F-but otherwise perfect. upshifts extremely smooth while driving "normally. Give it the spurs and upshifts are quick and very crisp. Car feels much quicker than it probably is. Will have to put some more miles on it (200 as of today) before actually timing it.
  7. A little taste of what is coming... CMax_PreviewGuide.pdf
  8. I have been providing material to several Ford forums over the years and your concern is noted and appreciated.
  9. Grrrr... file didn't upload..here let's see if this works. Adding 1/2/2011 Order guide as well 2012focpg120.pdf 2012focusog1.2.11.pdf
  10. Nope, still on version 10/2010. However, here is the price guide update..some minor increases...
  11. Thanks for the clarification. They sure looked suspiciously like cloth/vinyl. Sad to say that these do not look anywhere as nice as the material in my Fusion Sport. This will definitely lean me towards an SEL with leather...from reading the reviews I don't think the handling will suffer much if at all.
  12. Thanks, liking what I see, looks like cloth inserts with Leather/vinyl bolstering..still wrestling between SE Sport and SEL...need to make up my mind.
  13. Regarding the reports on the transmissions shifting/hunting issues, you can bet that the boys in engineering are listening, these issues are probably going to be confronted with a software change of some kind. Ford, as we all know listens very well.. I cannot wait to get my hands on this car.
  14. Looks like all of these publications have blown a raspberry to Ford's information embargo...it was supposed to be in effect until Midnite Monday.
  15. Saw that, I made a post reiterating the fact that is works just like a MkI Focus...
  16. Looks like Ford did a change to the painted 17" alloys, all of the printed material from Ford shows a graphite metallic finish (Prices and specifications subject to change and all that..) but if these cars have the "production" wheels on them, I don't know If I am so fond of them. The black seems like a bit too dark (strange statement, I know. ) IMHO. But seeing that I am leaning towards ordering an SEL, it might be a moot point.
  17. Here is a very good read about the development of the 1996 Taurus. Mary Walton was given nearly unlimiteed access and to put it bluntly Ford was not entirely enamored of the result. http://www.amazon.com/Car-American-Workplace-Mary-Walton/dp/0393318613/ref=sr_1_10?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1295994254&sr=1-10 BTW, about the Nasser years, if I were to meet that smug SOB, I would probably belt him. What he did to Ford, not to mention Firestone bordered on criminal.
  18. Looks like he nabbed a couple of Chibana's pics, BTW.
  19. Yeah, I forgot about the supplement...gonna be some real heavy reading! Getting ready to order an SEL sedan w/303a kit, winter pack and 17" polished wheels...I cannot wait for this car!
  20. Well, it is 406 pages because the manual now contains the basic SYNC system instructions which were previously in a supplement to the OG.
  21. I should be able to post the Owner Guide tomorrow..2.6MB 406 pages!! Need to split it up at home.
  22. Had to split Product Guide up into 3 parts... 12_FOCUS_PIB_FNL-1 copy.pdf 12_FOCUS_PIB_FNL-1 copy 2.pdf 12_FOCUS_PIB_FNL-1 copy 3.pdf 2012FocusSB.pdf
  23. See Pete DeLorenzo's Autoextremist Rant for addtional opinion on the small car/high content issue... http://www.autoextremist.com/
  24. Remember that in Europe, this class of car is more than the equivalent of our midsize (Fusion-Taurus) class. It only figures that their cars will have a higher content owing to what the culture is used to. I know to many of us these features are desirable, but here in the States, Ford has researched and made the decision that there is not a sound case to add them at this time. This may change soon if fuel does what most analysts say it is going to do.
