  1. That pickup was designed before off-set frontal testing was used. I believe that it did just fine on NHTSA full frontal. Ford knew they had an issue and looking at this video it appears to have fixed the problem completely.
  2. http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/asiapcf/08/1...r.ap/index.html Well it looks like the guy responsible for the lead paint toys hung himself.
  3. Wait a second here...I thought Toyota was suppose to get way better fuel economy then anything from Detroit and that is why everybody wants one.
  4. I could not agree more. That is a very nice looking car. I saw a brand new one in the Best Buy parking lot today with dealer tags on it. When I drove by I saw the guy getting into it and as I drove by I rolled down my window and said "Nice car!" He was like...thanks! I love it!
  5. I can think of a new advertising slogan..."From the country that brought you Tiananmen Square comes a new sedan filled with the same kind of excitement"
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkiqPV3WhYQ Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdIIlCfI3K8...ted&search= Part 2 Watch that news report and then tell me if you are going to trust your life with a Chinese automobile??? I sure the hell won't.
  7. Well if Brilliance buys it they can slap the Ford oval on the front and Taurus on the rear of their BS6. They could sell it on safety then.
  8. Isn't the Ford Oval one of the most recognized trademarks in the world? Anyhow I am 31 years old and when I see a pentastar I think of a K-car or an 80's minivan that is blowing blue smoke.
  9. The heck with crashing this into a wall. I want to see it go head to head with a new Taurus. :happy feet:
  10. Well then give some constructive criticism. You want them to improve their scores by 50 points. So how do they do that and still keep costs down? How do you know that the modern vehicle lines like the Fusion-Milan-MKZ, Taurus-Sable, new Expedition, etc. are not improved compared to the vehicles in this study? and one last thing...what do you drive? honestly you must have the "perfect" vehicle so I would like to know what it is....
  11. Then go buy a Honda or Toyota and then leave these message boards. It is apparent that no matter what Ford does you will not like it so really what is your point around here? Why do you waste so much time on a company that you dislike? I think everyone around here would like to know the answer. Did Ford royally screw you over or what?
  12. That's HOT! Wow! Just wait though...the next Camry will again copy it. Toyota does not have any imagination when it comes to styling, well expect for the Prius, which is beyond ugly.
  13. Would you like a bag of screws and a cordless drill to go with your new Dodge?
  14. I think one way to address these sales problems is a longer warranty. Instead of throwing more and more cash on the hood, slap a 5/60 (6/70 on Lincoln) bumper to bumper and watch sales pick-up. An improved warranty will actually help re-sale instead of hurt it like too many discounts can. Ford says their quality is greatly improved so as long as they keep working on getting better and better quality it can be done and in the end will probably cost less then increasing rebates.
  15. I agree completely with what you are saying. If tomorrow Ford said...our 5/60 will become a bumper-to-bumper that would shake the industry a hell of a lot more then the GM powertrain did or the Chrysler lifetime (with limitations) warranty.
  16. It is time for them to increase their warranty to a 5/60 (6/70 on Lincoln) bumper to bumper. It would show total confidence in their product and a warranty like that would really drive sales because people would give Ford a chance knowing that they back their product. It may not be an assurance that the product is better, but people will give the product a chance if they know they are covered. The quality is getting to a level where Ford could afford to do it.
  17. Nice to see that they are adding the keypad. It just did not seem like a Ford product without an available keypad. That is a LIFESAVER when you lock your keys in the car.
  18. The Focus will look new, be affordable and get good fuel economy. Taking all of that into consideration with the current state of fuel prices and other market conditions...it will be a winner.
  19. Expedition is the success story of the year. Even though fuel prices are higher it continues with double digit increases. Are the people buying these rich enough not to be effected by fuel prices or is it because Ford got this vehicle so right? I'm curious why it is bucking the trend.
  20. Captain Kirk would be right at home pushing the controls on that panel.
  21. I was over looking at GM's sales table and it does look like the Edge is more successful then the Acadia. I thought GM CUV's were suppose to be so superior because of the 3rd row, but it seems they can't match the Edge numbers. Maybe that is because they have more rebadges. Why in the hell is the TrailBlazer up over last year and outsold the Explorer??? Give me a break. The TrailBlazer is going to be cut soon and does not even offer a 3rd row anymore. It has never been changed since 2002. I don't get that at all. Explorer is a WAY better vehicle.
  22. Has Toyota released yet? You know darn well they are going to be way up if everyone else is down. They are stealing not only from Detroit but also other imports. I have no idea what the love affair with Toyota is...but people are just crazy about them.
