  1. First of all, Ford Bought the Flat Rock plant outright within the last year, so Mazda could want the Mustang to sit on a stick but it wouldn't effect anything that Ford is doing. Worse case scenario is Mazda pulls it product out of Flat Rock which could happen but I don't think that would help/hinder anything that goes on up there in Canada because I doubt the Mustang is moving. Lastly, Plan on your plant closing, because it will most likely do just that. People say: "but our quality is best....." "but our workforce is superior....." "but the local economy will......" and so on and so on... They have already done the same things and said the same things at Atlanta, New Jersey, and Wixom and it didn't stop Ford from shuttering them.
  2. I missed the last couple of days before we were laid off for the previous two weeks so I didn't get a chance to get any paperwork for the down weeks. I am supposed to call MARVIN tomorrow morning and my question is do we have to claim Memorial Day as earned wages? And if so do we include shift premium? Any help is appreciated.
  3. You whine like a bitch. Ya Find that interesting too?
  4. It's in New York. They Heckle the Pope, Santa Clause, Mother Theresa and their own Grandmothers. Heckling some guys you don't even know in New York is just like saying "Hello"
  5. I call total Bullshit on the degrees he has claimed to achieved. Anyone who has the grammar abilities that this person has shown, has little, to no chance of obtaining a degree. If you can't spell the degree you have worked so hard for, chances are that you have not actually gotten that degree. ("bacholars" ???? Come on man...). Don't assume that you are smarter then another and then misspell the word "as" twice in the same sentence.
  6. Damn it, I wish i liked vegetables.... Guess I'm screwed? LOL All I can say is that there are many "extras" that can be cut out of daily use that can save you thousands of bucks. Losing my cell phones and cable alone would save me close to 200 bucks a month, I also do not need 2 brand new cars for my family, having one brand new reliable car and one beater would save me an additional 400 bucks a month, right there alone is 600 bucks a month total, almost a weeks net pay.
  7. All of what you mentioned was what made me decide to take the transfer to DTP. I have already been through one plant closing and the writing was on the wall at AAI, management started going down the same path that they did at Wixom, the enforcing of "ticky tack" rules, meeting after meeting about quality and cost savings, down weeks, reduction in line speed, one shift, then plant closure. Above all of that you have Mazda there not being happy with the course that is being followed (no idea if this is true, just taking your word on it). I would suggest trying to get to a plant that has some staying power in Ford, I can't really say where you should go, but the sooner the better in my opinion.
  8. Whats "dont" and "leval"? Police your own grammar before you police someone else.
  9. Pretty sure seniority rules for the most part at most Ford Facilities as long as your record is in good shape. Yeah, the bump thing at AAI sucks but it kinda makes up for it when you can bump any time, at most plants there are only 2 times within a year that you can bump. One last note: The first week I went to DTP we short shifted 3 out of the 4 days and I was happy to see my short work week pay making up for my 40 hours (2.9 total hours)
  10. Further emphasis on my posting. Fucking idiot. Dumb ass is two words by the way, you dumb ass.
  11. I feel bad bashing AAI at every turn, but man that place sucked ass. I await Redemptions reply asking why everyone thinks that place sucks.
  12. All of these people who are saying "I voted NO because the concessions we made won't do shit to save the company anyways" are all a bunch of freaking RETARDS. So, with that argument, you are saying that if the IUAW would have granted significantly STEEPER concessions you would have voted Yes? Fucking idiots. Get a clue. Last week the president and CEO of my wife's company sent out a company wide email stating that from that point on, because of the downturned economy, all raises and all 401k matching was terminated. There was no vote, they got an email stating it and that was that. We have it good with the UAW, and still I am amazed to see the people shitting on it at every turn.
  13. Wow, it must be pretty creepy in there by now! I can't imagine the dust build up on the floor.
  14. Idiot. Use your own argument..... In 1979 the concessions cost UAW members apprx. 15k, Concessions now will cost us less then that even with your "inflation...apples to apples" argument.
  15. After that freaking psycho came in and shot up Wixom, it was agreed that turnstyles were to be installed at all Ford Locations. I have no qualms about this since I was at Wixom when this happened and it was not a good time. I would trade the company monitoring me ever working day of my life if it could have deterred the loss of life that occured that day. How is it that you are being monitored on your way out when you don't need to swipe your card to get out? If you are a minute late then you are a late and it's your own fault. I know it's nit picking but hey, rules are rules. Maybe you should try buying a luchbox and making a cheese sandwich or something... There has to be more to this story.
  16. Agreed, it is usually much easier for a person with 5 years seniority to uproot and look for a new job then a person with 20 years.
  17. I was also told this by a member of management and the Union, but I was also told that Sullivan was opposed to it.
  18. Very Happy I left AAI Unlucky that the people you elected are not doing as well as you expected them to do in your opinions. Lucky for you guys that you have this forum to express all your feelings on.
  19. Christ, want some cheese with that whine? I worked at AAI and AAI informed every member who had the correct contact information of the DTP and Saline openings via automated messages. This is more of an attempt to let people know of openings then I ever got from anywhere else, it was always said that it is the employees responsibility to check labor for openings and bids and I was very happy and thankful that while we were on holiday break that AAI called and let us know about postings. As for technical information about other plants, do some freaking legwork yourself you lazy ass, I did before i signed for DTP. (fyi, I'm not a AAI fanboy, but I have to say I appreciated the way they kept us informed of postings)
