  1. You won't hear me complain about how much it costs to drive my truck and it's used for a lot more than a car. You don't buy a truck and expect good gas mileage. If you get good mileage it's a pleasant surprise.
  2. Let's not inject "microaggession" terminology into auto discussions. Let them keep that rediculousness on the college campuses.
  3. I don't believe the vast majority of buyers have any idea what chassis underpins their vehicle. Only enthusiasts know and/or care about such things.
  4. Borg, you have made many assumptions about the car before you have even driven it. You seem to imply that the chassis wasn't good to start with. It's hard to say anything about the driving dynamics without much information out there. I'm not personally in the market for a car like this, but I do like it. If I had to complain about something, I would have liked to have seen a bigger screen in the center stack, and a higher gear count in the transmission, just for the optics of it. However, I don't think this will have a significant impact on its sales. As an obervation, I don't believe 30 somethings are looking for full-size luxury cars, so isn't it safe to say that this car is probably targeting the right audience?
  5. I'm not suggesting this thread was necessarily going down the route of telling people what they "need" to be buying, but I always find it amazing when people tell other people what they "should" be buying. I agree there is a market for the midsizer, and I hope Ford can dominate it at some point.
  6. Well, not that it isn't a decent vihicle, but I'm not surprised since it's basically a 2007.
  7. Is that a suggestion that most people do not need a fullsize truck and they should be buying a midsize?
  8. It looks good. A major improvement over the outgoing model.
  9. Politics aside, moving any kind of production out of the country sucks. I understand the economics of it, but that doesn't mean anyone has to like it. Fields should not have made a comment because, no matter how you cut it, it doesn't present a positive image for Ford.
  10. I like this project. Keep us posted on your progress.
  11. If they want to get this thing on sale sooner rather than later, it would make sense to show it at the Texas State Fair.
  12. I really don't see a reason not to bring this over, although I'm not pumped about its manufacturing location. It is obvious that it will be lacking in trunk space as the Renegade, Trax, and HRV are approximately 7 to 10 inches longer than it respectively. But if it doesn't cost much to do, why not throw it out there until the next Gen is available. I think it's a decent looking small suv. It's about the same size as a Mini Countryman so it has that going for it.
  13. I sure hope the new Bronco follows the Wrangler form factor in some form, because if you can't remove the top, it will not be a vehicle I will be interested in buying.
  14. I see there are some midsize truck supporters here. My comments aren't meant to disparage you or the truck really, as I may consider a ranger for my son when the time comes. I guess I should have looked at it from a manufacturer's standpoint, and how it pertains to their lineup. Looking at the dimensions of a Chevy 1500 ext/cc with a size of 230"L x 80"W verses a Colorado at 213"-225"L x 74"W, there can be a noticeable difference in length and a 6" difference in width. I would guess the most commonly purchased model is the longer configuration of the Colorado. I don't have the numbers to back that up, but that is what I would buy. Ultimately I just don't feel like there is a large difference in dimensions between the two, and I would have liked them to be smaller, closer to the size of the original Ranger. This doesn't mean I don't believe they should bring out the new Ranger, to the contrary, the more Ford trucks the better. So for those of you that want one, I hope they bring it to you soon, because as a person waiting for a new Expedition/Nav I can feel your pain.
  15. That's interesting, as I thought the pictures were terrible, and found it to be much better in person.
  16. I don't really understand the desire to buy 7/8th of a truck. The midsized truck baffles me. I understand the the concept of the previous generation of the Ranger, as it was a compact pickup, but these current midsized trucks are truly not that much smaller than their fullsized counterparts.
  17. Some insight on the release date of this vehicle would be great, as I might hold off on buying a GMC, which I'm reluctant to do.
  18. I have to agree, I saw my first one in person recently and it is much better looking in person. It does not bare any similarity to the outgoing model.
  19. It does appear that it shouldn't be that difficult to extract more power out of this engine.
  20. If I care to guess, i'm going say these numbers are correct. They are consistent with information that has been leaked/communicated previously. However, I wouldn't mind being wrong and the numbers are higher;)
  21. Thanks for the update. Is it even known if they have begun manufacturing these trucks?
  22. None taken. I agree that many options are good for everyone.
  23. I ordered this truck on 8/5. Perhaps it is too early, but I thought I would give her a shot. Dealer Code: F41200 Order Number: 0204 Thanks for your efforts!
