  1. All true I agree... They were asked to give up and they did AS A WHOLE ! Not as a 2 tiered pay, 3 tiered SUB policy etc. etc. There are a few details you forgot tho, when the Big 3 started to make thier profits back and the UAW negotiated a formula for giving the UAW members back some of the $$$ they had lost (in bonuses) the UAW members only got a few decent checks until the Co. demanded changes to the formula. (ie. only NA profits not global, only hours worked, not OT hours also) I am in no way saying that the UAW is not doing what they see as the best interest for the members. I am saying they are letting the Company dictate how the UAW is going to divide its membership. Not a good thing at all.

I also noticed that there was a raise between 2005 and 2006 salaries.....I must have missed that one on my paycheck...oh thats right. We GAVE OURS UP ...
  5. My take on all this is.......We are ONE UNION, so why are we creating a 3 tiered SUB system ???? Its another way to divide our Union bros/sisters and the IUAW either didn't see it or did not care. I have to assume that they did not see it. This all goes back to the COAs that some , including myself, yelled and screamed about to no avail. When do we finally stan up and say "No more" we live and die together.........as a UNION !!!

  7. My biggest fear is that the Company will be able to use medical information AGAINST employees like ME that are a pain in thier ass. Example......I have a messed up shoulder (thanks to Ford) and have had surgery on it, what is to stop them from looking at my X Rays and telling the Super. to put me on a job that is going to do more damage to me??? Then what are MY options? Going and getting a restriction would sound right, but they are the ones to decide if you get one or not. (unless your personal Dr gives you one..then its out the door NWA) This is a very slippery slope to be going down, and one the UAW should never ever let happen.

  10. Say whatever you all want..... I would rather go out standing like a man ( Fuck NO!) than go out bent over (voting yes) .... Just MY opinion here, from what I have seen(in the language) the younger brothers and sisters will be wiped out on this. And I have a gut feeling as soon as this passes (?) the Company will try to get some more . (in about 4-5 months) Its the same ol tune, and we have all heard it before.....some chose to ignore it out of fear tho.

  12. I am not your son pops.... Now that we are even on the jabs we can have an adult discussion ok?? I never said we would make a profit by 2011. Also that didnt answer my question, but we both know the answer so ...... I have friends that work for GM , and I have talked to them. I only know 7 so its not a huge number, however I have known them all my life. 2 are now retired, and the other 5 still working. (from 17 to 31 yrs sen.) 3 of the 5 still working are of the same opinion...no more concessions, 1 of them says to "give em what the need" and the other is undecided. I have not talked to the 2 retirees for a while so can not say what they want. As far as neighbors that have lost jobs...they could give a rats ass about what happens to us. (thats kinda what got the US in this situation) Its just a matter of time before everyone else is in our boat...don't you see that ? Catapiller/Sprint/Harley etc etc etc.... all manufacturing is being devastated right now..the rest are right behind us. The Unions have always LED the way, and if we keep eroding our wages/benefits then which way are we leading the rest ??
  13. I am on the ERT (KCAP) and we have a very qualified and experienced team here, we did lose a few to the buyouts/retirements also. I am thankful that they are here, I would not hesitate to let any one of them treat me, if I should need it. As far as people being on here to get away from working, I have not seen that. Most of the training is harder than our regular jobs ( ) But on a serious note, like Theo said we are all here to help our brothers and sisters when they need it the most..when they are sick or injured. Not to get out of working.

  15. I respectufully disagree.....MOST of the Unions "fights" have been very unpopular with the public. However past battles were fought in spite of that because it was the right thing to do for the membership. I believe there comes a time to make a stand.......even if it is a final stand.... I believe we owe it to the RETIREES and all the great men and women that have come before us . If you think that the Company is going to stop here, then you are either naive, or foolish sir. We have given 8 of the last 10 raises/COLA...let them take $$ from the retirees (health care ) We have opened the contract so many times I have lost count... If you can honestly answer YES to this question I would consider voting to give concessions.........Ready ?? .. If Ford Motor Company miraculuosly turned a profit in 2010, would they open the contract up to the UAW early , and let us renegotiate for a better deal ??????? FUCK NO they wouldn't !!! So why are we ?? Again? and again and again and again ???? Remember the definition of insanity..................same results !

  17. We have given and given and given.....I have heard the same speech about "getting it back when times are good" before also.... Name me ONE thing that we have given up and gotten back ???????? The Company was making record profits 15 years ago...and we were getting less and less of it. (they lowered our profit sharing % remember?) Then comes the last 10 years and each time the contract came up we heard how dire it was, so we gave in again. After we gave up a few raises and some COLAs and ratified, they came back and said "OH not enough, we need COAs" so we gave up almost ANY fucking hope of ever getting off the line(unless we are fortunate enough to be Trades) by giving up all of the cleanup, cutting some of the trades, reducing inspectors etc etc... That still wasnt enough so we gave up raises and COLA again this last contract, and lo and behold they are back again wanting more........ Fuck them I would rather go down standing tall than go down bent over... FUCK NO is my vote..and I am telling everyone I know to do the same. I have even went so far as to make a sign that says "Vote No" that I hang on my job...
