  1. I dont disagree with the whole ZF super seniority thing. That's a grey area there! That was the agreement when Ford bought back the plant. Now was it the right thing to do? At first I think it was, but now, 4 years later, and that plant is idled, it's a problem? Go fkn figure!
  2. Wow.......let me see. This whole subject is about Batavia people coming over to Sharonville and displacing current Sharonville employees? When in the past this was ok? Now.....all of a sudden there are people at Sharonville who are concerned about getting laid-off by a Batavia employee that might have time on them? What makes that different from anybody else? It wasn't a problem before? 1 for 1, that how it was. And when Sharonville had lay-offs, Batavia brought them in and gave those people mass overtime there. (CVT days)...at least when I was there. Once Batavia was said to close, there were no transfers obviously cuz no one wanted to go there. It is the same local, same seniority. No. I'm not bitchin. I'm done. I took my buyout years ago. I'm just looking out for the people who have seniority between the two sister plants. Peace.
  3. Tomorrow is it. The last CD4E will roll down the line, if it already didnt tonight. It's a sad day in FoMoCo to have another plant closing. But what can you do? I just wanted to let everyone I met and worked with in Batavia that it's been fun, and I wish the best for most of you (a few un-named individuals can rott in hell). It's been a kick-ass ride and I wouldn't trade it for nothing! "They Can Do That!" (Haha!!!)
  4. I dont disagree with the fact that you should have the jobs that us temps are working. So why aren't you? I took the buyout in '06. since our plant was closing. Most of us didn't have enough seniority to transfer anywhere. 4 months later, they offer me my job back as a temp, I like many others jumped on it. A year later, I'm making what I was before I left. You are in protected status, wants to be working, and in a Ford plant? Shit, come on down, you can have my job!!!! If you think for one fkn second that I'm filling in a spot within this company, that is prohibiting you from working, wow, your wrong. I can't speak for every temp in here, but FYI, I, along with hundreds of other temps, AND regular Ford workers will be looking for new employers in about 2 1/2 months when our plant closes!!!! Maybe thats why there's just as many temps there as regular Ford people. No one is willing to work a dead end job. Now as for the other plants that are staying open and have temps, your guess is as good as mine.
  5. Thank you. It's nice to see there are some people out there who actually understand whats going on. It's not as bad as it was when I first stated back as a temp. People hated us. Whats funny is once they got to know me on a personal level, it all went away, and we all got along just fine, no borders. Go figure.
  6. Grow up asshole!!! It's amazing that people are still bitching about temps. That's what I am, and I realize that. I don't expect a thing out of this job, and I knew that going into it. I don't want special treatment either. I haven't earned it. Was I part of our union before? Yes. Am I a sell out? Maybe in some peoples eyes, but then you don't know my circumstances do you? You calling temps "scabs" is flat out wrong, and frankly it pisses me off. I've been back for over a year now. I pay my dues, the same as the full-time person next to me. The insurance has co-pays of $25. I have no vision/dental, and no perscription coverage either. We can't even take a day off if we needed to, let alone accumulate any days off. You have nothing to worry about, we will never get hired/rehired by Ford. The company AND International won't have it, ever. Happy? Peace
  7. I own a 2005 Focus ZX5 SE hatchback. Bought it brand new in Feb. '06. It's a 5-speed. It's been an excellent car until recently. Sometimes the car won't start. All the power, but like the problem older ford trucks had where the starter locks up. It's only done this twice so far, but I had to push it and pop the clutch to start it. After that I can turn it off, and it will start up no problem. No, it's not the battery. The car only has 25,000 miles on it. I was wondering if anyone else has this sort of problem? It's like the starter is frozen up. Thanks.
  8. I got to days because there were other TPT's with later hire-in dates on days that I was able to bump (shift preference). TPT's can only bump other TPT's. I've talked to some of the regular Ford employees on 3rd shift. They want to be on that shift. If they wanted days, they'd go there. I'm not stoping them, thats for sure. As far as forcing all TPT's to nights, I know that if they want to, they will. But I don't think they can force regular Ford employees to a shift if they dont want to. Especially if they have the seniority. For a lot of people, that's a life altering change. Kids in daycare, spouse's on same work schedule, etc.
  9. He has a right to his opinion just as anyone else. May the Force be with you bro!
  10. I dont know about anyone else, but no one in our local has even been around to bother telling anyone where or when we are to vote, let alone WHAT we are voting for. Unless you listen to the rumor mill, or research it on the net, a lot of people don't have a clue what's in this contract. The fact that the union isn't educating its members on the future of this company, and their own, to me is not right! Asked a rep about it, he didn't seemed too concerned.
  11. Yep!!!!!!! Temps get to vote! Why? because we pay the same union dues as everyone else. For some reason there's a seprate set of rules for us, but that will soon be gone after the contract. It's all bullshit if you ask me, but oh well, I "don't deserve to be here anyways", right?
  12. According to our local, temps can vote. AND....if we strike, they walk out with us. They are not here to "replace" us during strike. Honestly, I think a majority of the temps don't necessarily vote anyways. When asked if they voted to pass the strike, most didn't have a clue as to what I even asked them. They knew nothing about it.
  13. Yes and No..... Temp are suppost to work Mondays and Fridays..............that's all..............OR...fri, sat, sun, mon...But that's all, according to the green book.....NO???????
  14. I've been to a lot of 863 meetings. 35-45 people is not a unit meeting!!! There are at least 400...per shift.... that could have attended. :fan:
  15. Ok. I guess I took that post to personal. Yes, I do agree with you. I worked for a company for 11 years before FoMoCo, and I know, there is no 2nd chance. I don't have a clue when it comes to the state of Ohio's "hired by a temp agency" rules, if they even exist. But thank you for clearing that up for me. B) Wasn't trying to call you out, just wanted an explanation.
  16. WTF? Please, explain to me how the "Real World" works then Mr. Roboto? I hope your not speaking of the MTV show either. Can't wait for this!
  17. Yeah, I had someone tell me that yesterday also. Might work for the regular TPT's, but the Super TPT's were just called back by Ford. I didn't go back through any temp agency. As a matter of fact, the only thing I signed when I came back to work was authorization to test my urine for drugs, that was it. Our chairman told me that their is NO writing about a Super TPT anywhere within the company. It sounds as if its a made up position. So as far as he's concerned, we are being considered as regular TPT's. Will it matter? Dont know. I heard they were letting us all go after next week and droping the main line down to one shift. But hey, you can't believe the rumors in that place.
  18. What....this one? :shades: The "Phantom Donk" by Spade Kreations in Cincinnati. Picture taken in Miami.
  19. I get the same thing everytime I go there too.
  20. Even if it's true, I just saw a new class of TPT's in training Friday and Saturday doing a "walk through" on the plant floor. There was about 15-20 of them. B to S, your right though, who knows with this place! Anything could happen these days.
  21. Well I took your advise and sat down and had a one on one with our chairman yesterday. Our seniority does NOT start over because of the shutdown. All I'm obligated to say right now is....
  22. No beef with anyone. It's all good. I have sat down and read and reveiwed carefully the terms of the STEP buyout. All it says is that we left the company by our decision, AND if the company were ever concider us for rehire, that we are not eligable for any type of severance package from Ford for 5 years. That's it. And I'm sure about that. Like I said before. The company has to make a decision on us by the 89th day. Which for some of us, that is very soon. If indeed nothing happens, then maybe the grievence route may be the way to go. We'll see what happens!
  23. First off, I'm not a brown noser, I was one of the very few who didn't abuse the system because of lazyness. I busted my ass everyday. I was there on time everyday. I didn't call off. I wasn't in medical every other day. I wasn't drinking my lunch everyday. I did my job with professionalism, pride, and with speed and quality day in and day out. Think what you want. Again. I am fortunate enough that if Ford lays me off, I do have a back up plan for myself and my family, don't you worry about that. And like I said, I am financially sound. My buyout check has been in the bank for 7 months now untouched, collecting 5% intrest. Why? BECAUSE I DON'T NEED IT. I didn't want it to begin with. But with only two years of seniority at the time, I did what I thought was right, and I have to live with that decision now. Trust me, I wonder whether or not I made the right choice. Too late now. And no. I understand the situation with possibly taking up room for Gen, or flowbacks. But for now, I really don't see a lot of folks that would want to go to a plant that is closing. I can see that being an issue at other plants, but not at Batavia. Whatever. There is always going to be haters out there because I "sold-out" my job in their eyes. I know, I 've been back for two months and already had someone try to get me fired for something I didn't do. You can't screw up, there will be no third chance. But at the same time, there is more people that most think that are not upset of our choice with the buyout. The way I see it, everyone had the option to take the buyout, we were fortunate enough to beat all odds and get hired back for $2 less an hour than what I was making before. Will this turn out to be a career with Ford Motor Company again, probably not. But you can bet your ass I'm going to try and I'm not going down without a fight.
  24. I agree. I have read over and over the STEP paperwork looking for something that says we quit FoMoCo for life, yeah well, that wording IS NOT THERE! I understand we took the buyout. If Ford wants the money back, take it, I've had it since January and haven't spent a f-n dime of it because I didn't want it to begin with. As far as being rehired, Ford called ME back. It's not like I was knocking on their door begging for my job back. I didn't take a huge $10 paycut like everyone says either. I make about $2 less now than when I was there before. I am very greatful for being back. It was like winning the lottery getting in their in the first place, but to be given the opportunity to return again was unbelievable. But JJ is right. The Union really hasn't givin us many answers. I was told we would make it through our 90 days. But my rep. says he doesn't know what will happen after that. Some say we should get our jobs back. Others say we are their to make money only and close the plant down and that's it. Plain and simple, I have a feeling that they really don't know. A committeeman that I'm good freinds with long before FoMoCo has told me straight up that he doesn't think Labor Relations really knows either. And listening to the rumor mill will only cause stress and frustration. I think for now, we sit back for two more weeks, and wait to see what happens and go from there. According to the green book, they HAVE to do something within 90 days. Either lay us off before then, or change our status. Whichever, they have to do one or the other according to the contract. The thing is there is not one reference about a "Super TPT" in any of the contracts that I can find so far, and that's why I think the company doesn't know what to do with us. That's why I think we may have a chance in getting back in. I could be wrong, but for now I'm going to be quite and sit back and see what happens after the 23rd of this month.
  25. Yeah, I've heard that too. TPT next to me said the union told them in their training classes that they had a very good chance of making it to Sharonville also. What's up with that? And what happens when we get our 90 days in? Then what? Techically, we should have our jobs back. I never signed a f-n thing that explained any of our rights in there. Read up in the Letters Of Agreements book about how plants have abused their TPT's in the past. But notice NO WHERE is the term "Super TPT" worded in ANY of the contracts. So what now?
