  1. I'll agree, the coupe is actually pretty nice, the sedan seems way too generic.
  2. Sort of starts looking like a VW
  3. What I never understood about Tommy and his ilk is that he constantly bashed FMC when he has never been an employee of Ford. He and most of the other bitchers and complainers at that other site were employess of a dealership. They cant seem to get it through their heads that the dealership is not Ford. His and a few others biggest bitch is that Ford cut the billable hours on warranty claims. Sorry Tommy boy, if your too lazy or incompetant to do the job in the alloted time, dont expect Ford to pay your fat ass for being stupid or lazy. Quit your bitching and go hide back at Toyotaweekly where you are a "staff" writer. I think the last post at that lame ass site was around May
  4. I hope to God thats not the right front end
  5. I love how Tommy boy here says "if someone posts something anti-Ford they squash it right away. Blinder wearing idiots!" But if you say anything about his beloved Toyota POS Tundra he starts the name calling Your such a Hypocrite Tommy
  6. A little off topic here, But I just got back from a trip and the rental company offered me a Crossfire convert for the same price as the midsize I had reserved. Not a bad littel car, but it is small. There is NO and I mean NO trunk space. 1 small overnight bag would fit, My wife had to put the other bag on the floor between her feet until we got to the hotel. Overall, it was a pretty nice ride, ran well, rode well, got a lot of attention. Nice top action, but a bit slow to go through all the motions of up and down. The best Chrysler I have ever been in but not up to the 02 T Bird my wife has.
  7. The only thing I could find quickly was a Car and Driver spec sheet for an 06. The 06 and 07 have the same HP ratings so I assume they would be equal Mitsu C/D TEST RESULTS: Zero to 60 mph: 6.1 sec Zero to 100 mph: 15.1 sec Zero to 130 mph: — 27.0 sec Street start, 5-60 mph: 6.1 sec 6.0 sec Standing ¼ mile: 14.6 sec @98 mph Braking, 70-0 mph: 184 ft Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.82g Top speed (governor limited): 133 mph EPA fuel economy, city driving: 18 mpg C/D-observed fuel economy: 22 mpg Mustang C/D TEST RESULTS: Zero to 60 mph: 5.1 sec Zero to 100 mph: 13.0 sec Zero to 130 mph: 25.6 sec Street start, 5-60 mph: 5.6 sec Standing ¼-mile: 13.8 sec @ 103 mph Top speed (drag limited): 147 mph Braking, 70-0 mph: 170 ft Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 0.89 g FUEL ECONOMY: EPA city/highway driving: 17/25 mpg So, I would have to say, No
  8. Mower Man We have a pair of SD's, Not the 08's, so dont know if this is helpful or not. We get about the same mileage empty or pulling a light trailer. If we load it down a LOT, and pull a piece of equipment the mileage will take a couple of MPG hit. So pulling a 2500 trailer, I wouldent think would knock your mileage hardly at all. Despite what some posters think, the deisel is a more desireable overall package and will get you more when you trade/sell it, because of the diesel not just because it cost more initially. But this could also be a regional thing. If you are in farm, horse country. The diesels will always sell faster and bring more money. If you live in a city, it might not be true. If this is important to you, check your locak truck trader for comparable vehicles (Gas or Diesel) and see what the asking proice difference is. Whether or not you get the whole 6K back or not will depend on how long you keep it. But even then you have to offset the fuel savings. If you drive a lot of miles it will really pay off because people who buy diesels know a Power Stroke with 100 K miles is not considered High Mileage. Whereas a gas engine with 100 K is going to take a big hit.
  9. If you want a diesel, get a diesel. This argument that he doesnt "need" a deisel is silly Does anyone "Need" a GT Mustang. The 6 cylinder gets better mileage and has more than enough power to push the car at the speed limit. If you want to use that type of reasoning as to what vehicle to buy, then I guess we should all be buying the base mode Focus and even it has more motor than it absolutely needs.
  10. There are fuel stations that sell Bio deisel. But its a grass roots movement. Once the oil companies get involved it will cost exactly as much as the market will bear. Similar to conventional deisel. There is a small group in Winston Salem NC that has banded together built a small bio deisel refiners, they also convert cars to bio deisel. Sort of like a co-op
  11. A small displacement V8 that gets better mileage than the V6. It seems like a great idea , but I wonder if it will have a stigma associated with it with the greenies. Take for instance the stigma of the SUV. Greenies constantly harp on the "Gas Guzzling SUV" when in reality, most of them get better mileage than that old claptrap POS they are driving and definitely pollute less than the old VW. They don't want their opinions clouded by a bunch of useless facts. So if you were to replace a 6 cylinder that gets on average 20MPG with a V8 that gets 25MPG , I think you would still bump up against the V8 hating crowd.
  12. I thought they had already determined it will be built in Mexico
  13. I dont think they intend on selling it in Europe
  14. The center part of the dash is a speaker according to the text at least, The push button is the trunk release, IF you look at the icon its the back of the car with the decklid open
  15. And you are basing this assumption on what? Jag and Volvos steller business record prior to Ford buying them out? What makes you think, putting Jag and Volvo back under European management wouldent return the brands to their former lackluster selves?
  16. There is another thread about what Ford should do with the 8B should they sell off PAG, Maybe they should buy hospitals near their factories. The medical industry seems to be the only thing making money any more, plus, as you have pointed out, could cut down on their costs. Sort of liek the V.A.
  17. Honda was always known for 4 stroke engines, rarely 2 strokes. Even on their dirt bikes where almost every other manufacturer used 2 strokes, Honda has and continues to utilize the 4 stroke despite its being heavier. They have and do offer 2 strokes on a limited basis for full Motocross , non street use small displacement engines (125cc or less) I do not think they build a 2 stroke any larger than 125
  18. Mine came stock with 17 in Pilots. I have been happy with them so far (8000 +-)
  19. It would have to be since all the SD's I have seen had side exit exhaust. But I think this is all BS as there isnt a notice of it anywhere on CNN or anywhere that I can find
  20. Tommy is a staff member over at Toyotaweekly.com. From the looks of the site its kind of a knockoff of BON, but then all car sites kind of look alike, Anyway, they get about 2 posts a month so he is probably bored.
  21. You sure seem to willing to "Speculate" on the numerous ways that this "could" have happened. But you are 100% sure this is a manufacturing defect. Sounds unbiased. Face it, there is absolutely NO WAY this could have happened the way you say and all the facts point to it, That's why you lost. You want Ford to act "responsible" what would you consider responsible, paying you off for such a ridiculous claim? Why dont you act responsible and just admit this isnt the fault of Ford and was most likely the fault of the driver as the driver admitted.
