  1. Yes over 50 miles from plant to plant and you are eligible. Where you live makes no difference. Also, used to be you had to move to get the 45k moving allowance but now you do not have to move but you only get 30. Not sure if the 45k option still exists or not. Good Luck hope they move some trades soon as well I am tired of JSP.
  2. As far as I know ILO is usually volume related. The numbers I heard were 22 n ILO an 298 into the JSP program. I don't work at Livonia but I think I heard somewhere they have 2 different lines, One runs one shift and the other runs 2 shift2. I thought I heard they were flip flopping the production and the line going to 2 shifts takes less people. It was either that or they put in a new line that takes less people. Like I said I don't work there so I could be way off, you know how information gets lost in translation. Anyways original question ILO is usually associated with Volume.
  3. Relax, it is just a rumor with no fact behind it what so ever. Livonia will be laying people off very soon, so obviously they will not have to hire anyone off the street.
  4. Ok, Wakeup I apologize. However there are better ways to get your point across. Blue Oval Forums is nowhere near popular enough to make a difference, the difference is made on the floor. Run for office, be involved, ask questions at the meetings. The name calling on here does no good. Again I apologize for the comment I made about you and the buyout. I have issues with people who left still stirring shit up. If you are still an employee than by all means voice your opinion, I would just suggest a different route than always attacking. Suggest a solution and get the ball rolling.
  5. What appointment would that be I am at Maumee Jackass. As I said before if what you say is true the membership will deal with it accordingly. You only seem to come on here and belittle anyone who does not agree with you. If you really cared why not run for office instead of taking the buyout? It's very easy to sit on the sidelines and pass judgement on everyone else. Wait you took a buyout, your not even on the sidelines your just sitting in the crowd. You took the easy way out and now want to tell us what is wrong with VD. You took your buyout, you are no longer an employee!! Go on with your life but please. Don't go away Mad, Just go Away!!
  6. If you took a buyout, do us a favor and go away. The plant population will take care of the problem if there is one. Do you think they will vote him in again if any of this is true? I don't understand this hostility towards a place you no longer work at.
  7. 1 production Skilled trades, lets see, this is a close guess but not right on: Machine Repair-6 plus an apprentice Electrician 2 Apprentices M/W-2 T/D about 6 or 7 W/R -3 We have some others but they have been told they got a transfer with a tentative report date of Mid May
  8. That is what I have been trying to explain, but you know how some people get an idea. You just verified that my understanding was correct. I am just trying to keep some of the locals calm. Everyone is a little testy at Maumee including myself. Thanks again Level for the clarrification.
  9. Level, can you clear up a lingering question we have going on at Maumee for me/us? We had a Millwright go back to production and transfer to AAI I think. Allegedly he has or will be going back to his basic Unit, Wayne Assembly as a production worker. If Wayne Assembly has an opening for a Millwright down the line, where does said employee fall in the heirachy placement. It is my contention that he is a displaced journeyman just like the ones at Maumee and he would be placed in line with his seniority and not top of the list just becasue he is at the plant. Can you clarify this for a few of the folks at Maumee that are concerned? I know I sure could be wrong, but I am not sure and don't want a bad message getting around.
  10. Thank you for damaging my eyes. I think my retina's are now fried. MEDIC!!
  11. Sure if you want to risk 16k for a job. I hope people dig into the details before handing a check over to the new buyer. It's a damn shame when you have to pay for a job.
  12. Once again Level thanks for the clarification. I guess no system will be perfect. Using your example of a Pipe fitters needed at Ohio Assembly. In a perfect world, If they needed 4 pipefitters, but had 2 pipefitters in JSP at Walton Hills, they should only put up a posting for the 2 pipefitters they need from out of zone. By placing a posting that says 4 openings, when there really only 2 available just causes confusion. However that would probably make the entire process take even longer. So either way folks won't be happy. I think the best thing we can do is to keep the conversations going as these issues come up. Level and some others are doing a great job keeping information moving around. I know alot of the Reps take a beating on here, some deserve it some don't. I don't know for a fact Level is a International Rep, but I assume he is. And if he is, then he is doing us a great service with this information. Keep up the good work, it's good to know that people up north still care. Ok I forgot this is where I was for a second, I am suposed to bash the Union and Company on here. Level, you suck! You are a no good piece of :slug: Just kidding guy, thanks again.
  13. Maumee's sign was ainted over today as well. Depressing
  14. I certainly will do that Monday morning. It would not be the first time I have scanned over something and mis read it. Thanks again Level for all the help.
  15. Well in theory you should be correct. However most by-laws are in place to make sure that these meetings are attended as we all feel they should be. I am sure all locals have had people appointed into positions because of who they knew instead of how committed they were/are towards the Union. Most appointed reps are truly good people, however, a few bad apples can make the whole bunch seem rotten. They can be removed usually, but not easy to do. Need the chairman to put some pressure on them to attend and avoid the whole recall process if you can. Get the word out, make them accountable.
  16. I noticed that also. As far as Machine Repair, I think they posted 6 for DTP and 4 to AAI, did not see anything for the Dearborn T/D. I thought there were several openings for the Millwrights, but I only saw a few posted. I could be wrong though because I did not really pay attention to much other than Machine Repair. Maybe Level can shed some light on it for you Whiteford. One more quick question for you Level, I did notice one Electrician going to DTP from MTP. I assume that is a RTBU. I was just curious after this posting all we have left is 2 E/R apprentices.
  17. Level has been one of the few on here willing to answer questions honestly, so I am more than willing to cut him some slack on the Monday deadline.
  18. Anyone know the Mchine Repair number of people left waiting on a transfer? Thanks in advance.
  19. Yes Level that is what I was trying to say. Although it appeared to some he got special treatment, he really just lived within the confines of tha National Contract. In my statement I was just trying to agree that he was not a Specialist. You just put it much more clearly than my classification grey area  Sorry if it appeared I still had an issue with the move. I was just trying to explain my theory that he benifited from his classification nationaly and not his job localy or his family ties. Anyways, thanks again as usuall for trying to keep this board civil. Not all of us are hatefull as some others on here. I agree with S. Knight atleast some are trying to pass on usefull information.
  20. Fair enough, thanks for the info. One more quick question that may not have an answer. As one of the people who will not be placed in this round, any thoughts on when another round may be comng? Machine Repair is my trade.
  21. I have to agree with the others Level. Maumee had TMO's but like it has been stated, they ran the mills, lathes and grinders. They ran a few of the larger mills but nothing like the 5-axis. The people who did that function were called Machining Specialist Heavy's. The one in question was a TMO, and Welder Repair at one time, but never a Heavy. He did go in to JSP as a TMO though not as a W/R. At one time he went into GEN as a W/R. Since then he had returned to TMO up until he was placed in GEN/JSP. Was it a blatant favor done despite the contract? As much at it would seem to be, I believe it was more likely a nice grey area that exsisted inside the mentioned classifications. When the move first happened I was as mad as anyone. You have to understand there is alot of bitterness at Maumee. We were one of the best stamping plants around, but when push comes to shove, money and cost was way more important than performance. So yes some of us were quick to just attack and say FAVOR! To be honest I was over it about a week later, and now, like I said, I think he just got lucky to be in a classification that carries different meaning at different places. Heavy's were exclusive to Maumee I think. Even if they were not, the new contract combined aot of similar classifications. He just happened to be in the right classification so I am over it. Lets keep this on the topic it started as. Placement of us left in JSP as opposed to those that are gone. Level, any idea of a time frame for when the list may be put out? I had heard by late last week but obviously that has passed. Well for some, One of our Power Service guys has left for Ford land. Any clue on the rest?
  22. I found out what some of the hold could be. For the production folks, your hire date is your seniority(exxcept for the 10/29/84 leveling off date). Obviously, when those of us started an apprenticeship, we got a Date of Entry. Here is where some issues have come up. Plants run there HR info in TWOS software, corporate uses another program (RIMMS I think but not sure). Anyway these 2 programs do not work together. Where some issues have come up, when folks signed up for postings with there date of entry, the corporate software did not have the same DOE as people put down. This requires the people up north, to have this DOE verified. I know we had folks that had to track down paperwork that could be sent up north for verification. I would rather have them take their time and get it right, then to have them tell me ok your going to dearborn and 3 days later say oops we made a mistake. I'm not trying to make excuses for them, but I'm willing to give the benifit of the doubt for now. Another possible issue is the COA's alot of plants signed. The company wants these plants to live within their COA's. Most plants are running with less people than they really need. And contrary to what people think, having alot of overtime is cheaper than hiring or bringing in more people when you factor in benifits. And we know most of the people on the floor are not going to want to give up overtime, it's just the nature of the beast. Prodution numbers are much harder to hide, it takes X number of people to run Y many of jobs(give or take a few issues. Withthe trades it is much easier to say I only need 10 repairman not 15.
  23. Captain, I do not have an example of an in zone case like the one mentioned, but I do on the out of zone. There were bids put up for KC at some locations that were not made available to all out of zone. However it is not a dead issue yet because we had some M/Ws file a grievance over it . They company response was "Well, you folks at Maumee will get In Zone postings". I blame the company for this one not the UAW. We shall see how it plays out in the grievance procedure.
  24. I believe he is speaking of the "Contract" that we ratified. They listed the order for job placement with JSP ahead of the ACH people. If they change it now it is basicaly down to corporate senority. If that is the case we should be able to bump out lower seniority people instead of being forced out at 85%. They either have to go with corporate seniority or with what was agreed upon. I do find it a little fishy that this comes up now. We were not allowed to bid for out of zone placement while some of the ACH plants were. Out of zone is out of zone period. I know we had several people that were willing to go to KC but were not allowed to put in for it. What they need to do, or should have done, is make a policy and stick with it. If Ford and ACH are seperate then follow the order listed in the contract. If not go to corporate seniority and let us bump into jobs instead of forcing us out on 85% and having lower seniority people working. I know myself and my family have ben basicaly held hostage here for 8 months. I'm glad Bill and his family can go see American Idol while I have no idea where I am moving or where my kids will go to school or even when I can try and sell my house. The people up north(both sides) have no idea what it's like with having a move held over their head for 8 months and counting. I just want to work period! They have no idea what it is like to be in our shoes. They just pull in their 6 figure income or better and think we should be happy sitting around in the dark with no idea of what comes next. I have said this before and I will say it again. Every member of management at our plant that is staying with the company were placed long before any bids or flowback sheets were ever posted. The only people the suits care about is management. We are just bottom feeders to them. YOu will not convince me otherwise. For the record I am Machine Repair
