  1. Bottom line is 78% of Fords operations are outside the US...so the company goes where they can make the most money with the cheapest labor. Now that the IUAW has given into the 2 tier wage it's actually cheaper for the company to bring work back to the US plants. The union has no say on that and if the company is gonna do it they let the union tell it's membership they secured these new jobs when Mullaly is telling everyone the past 3 weeks that they are bringing 7000 jobs back before the contract even was discussed. Bottom line is, at anytime, can state that the market changed and those promises will not be honored....and they will. Supposed to add 10k jobs last contract...cut 12K....but they said they would add jobs....so let's believe them.
  2. I've changed plants twice...seen the good times and the bad...and have never seen a pile of shit contract like the one we have in front of us right now. This contract brings nothing to the table besides the check you get upfront that Ford Motor Company cant pull at anytime because the "market conditions" changed. It's a sellout and should be sent back up north and redone. If it's so great then why doesnt the IUAW live under it as we do instead of their own "special" agreement...let's head back to the table. You can feel all warm and fuzzy because of the "promises" that the company has made but I can tell you without question that they don't live up to them and the Union doesn't have the balls to make them....regardless where you work.
  3. Ford contract would make concessions permanent! The tentative Ford contract means this: Ford will give us a signing bonus of $6,000 (before taxes), plus four $1,500 bonuses (before taxes) and promises of profit-sharing. But we lose all the concessions we gave up. Everything that we want back, Ford said NO! NO! NO! NO raises, NO COLA, NO performance bonuses, NO Christmas bonuses, NO Easter Monday holiday, NO return of lost break time. NO overtime after 8 hours. (Letter on back-up time doesn’t change this.) First tier autoworkers lost up to $30,000 in concessions over the last few years. Now Ford wants to continue these concessions for another 4 years. At what cost to us? Lose another $30,000? All for $12,000 in bonuses? No raises for 4 more years, after we have already waited 6 years? They give us 2011 profit-sharing this November – by taking it away from next March’s money – hoping we will jump at the money now and forget about what happens later. The biggest concession is that 2-tier will continue. This contract does not bring up the 2nd-tier workers up to first tier. This contract keeps them permanent 2nd-tier, with no path to move up to first tier wages and benefits. The pay increase, spread over 4 years, barely makes up for what 2nd-tier workers lost in the 2009 concessions. The supposed 20% limit on 2nd-tier workers is filled with loopholes. The percentage of 2nd-tier workers will increase, meaning the threat of everyone being eventually reduced to 2nd-tier will increase. The profit-sharing formula is supposed to be improved, by including North American operations instead of just the U.S. But what is to keep Ford from shifting profits around to hide them? Do you trust Ford? There is also a cap on profit-sharing when there didn't used to be one. And there is no guarantee of getting profit-sharing every year. This contract makes us pay for what Ford did not put into the VEBA. The VEBA is underfunded because Ford only put in 57% of what was needed for retiree health care. Retirees are paying more out of pocket. Instead of making Ford pay for their obligations, this contract would take 10% of any profit-sharing we might get to put into the VEBA. New retirees will take another hit because for the first contract ever, there is no increase in the 30-and-out pension. Current retirees’ Christmas bonus is taken away from them. There are promises of new jobs. But remember the 2007 contract where Ford promised to save 10,000 jobs – instead we lost 17,300 jobs. If you look closely at the promises of jobs, it is mostly work that Ford was going to do anyway. When the past concessions were taken away from us, they wanted us to believe that when the companies were reporting a profit again, we would get back what we gave up. It was all a lie. They want us to accept that these concessions will be permanent. But we don’t have to stand by and watch our families’ standard of living be permanently reduced, while our bosses are the only ones who prosper from our hard work. The Ford contract does have more upfront money than the GM contract. But let’s remember why it is more – because we voted “No” in 2009. It ‘s a good lesson to remember this time. I’m voting “NO” and I ask you to vote “NO”!
  4. We got absolutely nothing back....nothing that we gave up in concessions....yet they can give the upper management almost 100 million in bonuses...take that shitty contract and come back with the real deal.
  5. I got more time in the shitter then you do at Ford Waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhheit...get lost and come out of the closet....bossman!
  6. LAP will vote no...the leadership is already sending out texts saying this agreement sucks...so LAP will not go in my opinion.
  7. First of all I have no idea who Gary is....he's in Michigan and I am in Kentucky and I can tell you down here at KTP and LAP this doesn't stand a chance....watch the vote count. And to think the only think about this contract you can't stand is screwing the retirees say all we need to know about you.
  8. wow....you must be numb to it...worst contract in my 23 years...period.
  9. Did we screwed on Profit Sharing even thou it was supposed to be made better? Ford has made over 5 billion in the 1st half of the year...so by the chart GM had we should all get 5K...why 3,700? So basically we get an "improved" profit sharing but we get less then a bankrupt company? THE BOTTOM LINE IS THE UNION GOT BACK EXACTLY NOTHING OF WHAT WE GAVE UP IN CONCESSIONS TO HELP THE COMPANY GET BACK TO PROFIT. WE ARE BACK TO PROFIT AND THEY RETURNED NOTHING....EASY NO FOR ME.
  10. In the 70's they got raises...we won't have one for 12 years now if this pile of shit passes.
  11. Your the makeup of the 51% the UAW/Ford count on to pass this piece of shit....I'm a no vote.
  12. In my opinion this contract has no chance of passing....NO CHANCE. What did the IUAW restore to us that was temporarily given up till the company got back to profitability? Nothing!! They didn't even throw enough cash up front to get the paycheck to paycheck workers to vote in! Not to mention the fact that a grievance that was to be settled prior to negotations has not be finished. The IUAW has no clue what the workers want and care more about the company then the union members....period.
  13. THIS CONTACT HAS NO CHANCE OF PASSING...NONE.
  14. WHAT DID THE UNION GET BACK THAT WE GAVE UP IN THE CONCESSIONS THAT WERE SUPPOSE TO BE TEMPORARY? ANSWER....NOTHING!!! WIPE MY ASS WITH THIS CONTRACT....ITS SHIT. TRY AGAIN IUAW!!!
  15. And they also told us they wouldn't even begin to negotiate the new contract till the grievance was settle either and we see how that worked out.
  16. Exactly...If someone puts in 60 hours a week and I only work 40 hours a week they spent 1/3 more time in the plant then I did...they deserved 1/3 more profit sharing then me....didn't they contribute more towards the profits by giving up their family time for the company? Useless thread in support of equal profit sharing. The company is actually against this itself because in the GM proposal it says you must get atleast 1850 to qualify for the highest payout...if you work less hours you get less. So why is it ok to pay less if you don't get to 1850....but no more if you go over....I call BS!!
  17. Apparently the company saw it coming...and shoved this losing proposition right up the IUAW and it's members asses...screwed by the company....AGAIN!!
  18. We sacrificed so that the company could avoid bankruptcy and get back to profitability...that has been done. Nobody is asking for any handouts...I want back what was already negotiated that we gave up and C.O.L.A. to simply keep up with inflation....give us back what we had...nothing new and we are fine. Don't think that's out of the question and costs the company nothing above what they were responsible for when they agreed in previous contract.
  19. I want all our Union Brothers and Sisters working...but to think the IUAW has an input on making Ford/Gm bring jobs to the US or bring work back from Mexico or any other country is truely laughable. Ford/Gm only allows this to be put in the contract as a tool to help the Union ratify a shitty contract when the fact is Ford/Gm will not bring any work back ever because the Union forced them to but rather because they had already planned to and allowed the union to feel as if they had some input. Bottom line after the ink is dry on the contract Ford/Gm can simply state that market conditions have changed and that the investment is gone. Wake up....78% of Ford total business is run outside the U.S. so if for brings work here or keeps a plant open...it's because they wanted to...not because the Union forced them too............if our contract is anything like GM's....Easy No for me. But I will wait to see what it looks like.
  20. Is someone paid me a total compensation of over 80 million last year with his bonus and the stocked dropped from 80 mil to 48 mil because of the 40% cut....I think I could survive!!
  21. ^ These four guys have got to be salary employees or IUAW trying to convince the membership that this shitty deal is great and jump on everyone who is opposed to it. Call people Chuckie and never have a solution to anything. Bottom line is the company is back...has not returned what we gave up to save the ship...and it's a shitty contract offered to GM and if that offer is made to Ford it will be rejected...regardless of what the these 4 idiots think! Get smart people...nobody at any plant talks like this that isn't management..........period. I will wait to see the contract, but if it's anything close to this, it has no chance. Now make personal comments and click my little red button at the bottom....frat boys!
  22. I am all about taking care of the retirees as I am to be one soon...but that's not the job of the members to catch up the VEBA....the company is suppose to put that 10 billion back that it owes the fund...that's not our dime!!
  23. Do you really believe that that the IUAW has the ability to force the company to make a product in the U.S.? That is laughable....the company agrees to work here because it planned on doing it prior and can pull the plug on it anytime it wants. 78% for Ford Motor Companys day to day operations are out of the US...get real. The company agrees to put work where it wants work and the UAW makes everyone think it has done something.
  24. It's always laughable to me that people really think the union has the power to force Ford Motor Company to invest in jobs in the U.S....if Ford wants to take jobs across seas...they do it. If they want to keep them here they do....but to think that the Union protects our jobs is laughable.
