  1. same shite for me...had the bronco less than a month...guess those vertical windsheilds are a rock magnet...total bill was $1200...me $250 deductible...it was funny though...car had to be recalibrated, Ihad to ask if the Tech could drive stick....lol....
  2. understand about the windsheild...but the costs of repairs on EVs is inherantly expensive...a lot to do with the fact they are smaller niche manufacturers perhaps so parts scarcity, although Im not quite sure that applies to tesla as they seem to be every second car around here lately...and Ive heard some shockers regarding repairs and maintenence specifically on them and Tesla Service outlets...as for Insurance the premiums ARE higher on BEVS, ( I questioned my Insurance agent whom Ive been with for 20 plus years ) some Insurance agencies refuse to insure them for various reasons...perhaps thats a reflection of fire issues and Battery cost replacements in the event THAT happens...little bit of a tough road for the "newcomers"...That said I saw a Raptor get written off wen a tree fell on the truck...idnt actually look THAT bad...but once the bill got to 85k it was totalled...( irony here, guys adress was on a street called Bending Tree! )
  3. theres another issue thats starting to rear its head as well...repair costs ...windsheilds for $4500 an $8000 dent repair ( a Rivian article ) and vehicles being totalled after crashes in which other vehicles would be considered salvagable.....theres a reason BEVs are more expensive to insure....EV high repair costs are a given, but a Rivian owner discovered that even fixing a dented bumper could cost more than a new car. Chris Apfelstadt shared on a Rivian Facebook group that his R1T was rear-ended at low speed. For the Rivian, it was just a fender-bender, and you could overlook it entirely if you didn't know where to look. The owner figured the repair would be expensive, but he had no idea how expensive it would be. He took the car to a Rivian-certified repair shop in Central Ohio, where the technicians proved incredibly meticulous. This might seem an exaggeration, but they disassembled the rear end to look for damage behind the bumper. The repairs took two and a half months, but the truck was returned to like-new condition. The final bill shocked the R1T owner, though, as it had $42,000 at the bottom. That's an eye-watering amount that would make anyone cry if they don't have good insurance coverage. Luckily for Chris, it wasn't the case with his fender-bender. Many people reading his story think the repair shop scammed the insurance company and inflated the repair costs. There's no way a dented bumper costs that much to fix unless it is made entirely of gold and needs to be replaced. Still, other Rivian owners share similar stories on social media. User u/nrrasmussen had a similar collision in his R1S, resulting in minor damage to their SUV. The repairs took four months to finish and cost $19,000. Although this is significantly less than Chris's R1T, it's still expensive
  4. 450s may be veiwed completely differently, as previously mentioned, allocation is a huge speedbump....regular Superduties not so much, but STILL limited...
  5. Somewhat adds creedence to Ford testing HD pickups with Hydrogen powerplants...they may/ may not eventuate, but seems they read the writing on the wall and got pro active. I asked a Ford Rep why they ( Ford ) had never ventured down the hybrid drivetrain scenario...his answer was they were exempt and the screws hadnt been tightened on the Higher GVW trucks yet, but stated Ford WAS in fact preparing for that eventuality.
  6. conspiracy theory....all about control...if EVERYTHING is Electric, all it takes is a flick of a switch and youre screwed, but wait...if youd bought that BEV you could supply power to your house right?.....dont mention the lobbying pockets that are getting lined. Regulation is getting absolutlely ridiculous...and Id have to say California is the looniest...
  7. confirmed it is...Ive got a guy getting a King Ranch on X plan, doubtful out of stock but we do acept it when ordering...unless Ford changes the program he is in fact eligible...
  8. congrats...if they check all the boxes go have some fun...the driving experience is a hoot....
  9. 3 days is friggen impressive for sure, I wonder time frame wise how that would pertain to a severe winter though....and dont forget the Tropical fish tank, or my wifes electric blanket...lol...Not sure Cichlids make great Tacos, mand a cold wife is an angry one....Rents are stupid here as well, WAYYYYY above what my my mortgage was......the issue for Home Purchases here is basically the required downpayment up front to qualify...damn scary and something a majority cannot swing, so apartment dwelling it is with basically ZERO chance of ever owning a home.....
  10. I dont own one, I did entertain one but obviously passed, maybe a few years from now when the tech and glitches have improved...so this is based solely on Customer feedback...people in Apartments is perhaps the worst combo, they have no choice but to track down Charging stations, and Im not sure theres a quick fix for Apartment dwellers as the percentages here in So Cal are rising due to STUPID Home prices. And honest question...what happens when you utilize the vehicle to charge your house, and the Car gos dead when it depletes its battery?...and in order for it to be able to charge the Home also requires quite a financial outlay correct?... because I dont rightfully know...
  11. 2 way street I think...Media does overplay the hatred...but two articles down the page theres the exact flip flop trying to convince everyone they are the next coming of God...which to believe right?
  12. little bit more to it than that silvrsvt....unless you own your own home with a charger ( if youre a renter you are at the Homeowners mercy, aprtment dwellers are pretty much screwed )and even then if theres a power blackout youre kinda up the creek , theres frequent lines and wait times to get to charging stations ( at least here ) that literally can end in fisticuffs, then theres the actual time needed for the car to actually obtain sufficient recharge, then theres cold weather performance, ....meanwhile Ive gassed my car and grabbed a cup of coffee in less than 10 minutes.....so, is it as easy as gassing a car up? debatable...Infrastructure and technologies arent at the levels of ICE conveinience YET...which, given how everything today is about lack of patience and instant gratification, kinda surprizes me how some glued to their mobile computer, have embraced the technology...
  13. I would defintely recommend leasing...the technology is in its infancy and is progressing quickly...you lease now, three years from now Id say the product will have been improved immensly....
  14. Ford just announced a $5k incentive ( dealer cash ) for Mach E's sold fleet.....I wonder if that will help move them....although truth be told they take a more substantial hit than that in terms of resale....
  15. given that, in theory the same road to acceptance should be in BEVs future...just takes a while for recalibration of mindset, and technology improvemnt will help the stigma massively....
  16. agreed...as far as the BEVs go, watch for rebates and low interest rates ...Fords going to have to do something to move them....
  17. that pretty much applies to the Maverick as a whole...whilst nit experiencing the absolute frenzy there is for the hybrid version, the Ecoboost variant doesnt hang aroung long either...affordability?...comparitively speaking its considered reasonably affordable, and being a small pickup is desirable....
  18. jesus mate...I have never ONCE said they are dead, just they need to be embraced in a more reserved gradual fashion and Ive criticized Fords business model..... their time is not right now, and definitely NOT in the numbers initially believed by Corporate that bought into their own hype....just down the road, and also not in the timeframe initially predicted...please write that down, I keep reminding you and your forgetting constantly...Ive got the old guy glitch as well, lol...
  19. I would love a breakdown of state to state Sales, the model breakdown, and the % of customers that purchased more than one unit ( to weed out the potential of perhaps one or two or more large orders fulfilled, which would change the perspective somewhat ) Our dealerships numbers are pretty indicative and reflect the States trends...and theres 172 California Dealers, if we all sold 7 ( as we did ) thats 1204 units...which is in line with Californias 25% of the countries BEV sales... and akirby, you are welcome to call me a sceptic. That said..out of all the Electrics I like the Lightning the most...drives fantastic, but from a sales standpoint my thoughts differ somewhat, I hope that changes, but cant say Im brimming with confidence based on what im witnessing. That said....2024 I dont have particularly high hopes for as I have a sense sales across the board will be dropping....hope my gut is wrong.
  20. actually yes I did...but I think that maybe a breakdown would explain the numbers better before jumping to conclusions...how many were fleet orders ?, where were they sold, in what percentages and were they individual sales or were there som bulk orders being fufilled now the PRO is more readily avail...Id say im the one with the open mind because without THAT breakdown numbers means pretty much nothing barring click bait and fanboi applause, and please keep in mind California is THE biggest BEV market in the States...and I also wouldnt jump to any conclusions based on a one months sales jump....so, what is the big picture as youve stated?...1 months uptick or Ford cutting back production due to dwaning demand?....
  21. just saw this so well re-visit...its selling extremely well, but wait...so well in fact they are cutting production 50% next year...sarcasm...yep...100%...I can only attest to what I personally witness...its NOT selling...we sold 7 last month, that said THAT was a 50% increase from the Month before which is statistically outstanding correct? ....and the units that sold were mostly PROs...something we have not had a lot of...now we have a plethora, so supply cannot be blamed for lacklustre sales...we now have more BEV F150s than gas...
  22. we had more interest in PROS than anything else....we couldnt get em, and here was no allocation...initially barring the onesys and twosies were just the mega buck versions, and that was BEFORE the 10 k MSRP drop....the other issue was from order date to delivery...something we are still putting up with on ICE vehicles people actually want...Transits are an absolute $hitshow.... Ive got one guy ordered a 22, flipped to a 23, and still hasnt arrived after 18 months....
  23. IMO they should have released the PROs first and worked up...instead the first units were 90k and upwards....I semi understand the logic, but the market base is larger the cheaper the units, get the cheaper ones out there first and then adress any issues...then release the $$$ units
  24. Totally agreed....but sales shouldnt be about Tax Breaks in my opinion, ...undisguised bribery!~ lol...the future will be interesting...my fingers are crossed that lessons were learned...somewhat Ironic is the deluge of deliveries we have had of late, probab ly 90 % of whats coming off the Trucks is Lightnings.....all PROS....its like a day late dollar short...
