  1. agreed...as far as the BEVs go, watch for rebates and low interest rates ...Fords going to have to do something to move them....
  2. that pretty much applies to the Maverick as a whole...whilst nit experiencing the absolute frenzy there is for the hybrid version, the Ecoboost variant doesnt hang aroung long either...affordability?...comparitively speaking its considered reasonably affordable, and being a small pickup is desirable....
  3. jesus mate...I have never ONCE said they are dead, just they need to be embraced in a more reserved gradual fashion and Ive criticized Fords business model..... their time is not right now, and definitely NOT in the numbers initially believed by Corporate that bought into their own hype....just down the road, and also not in the timeframe initially predicted...please write that down, I keep reminding you and your forgetting constantly...Ive got the old guy glitch as well, lol...
  4. I would love a breakdown of state to state Sales, the model breakdown, and the % of customers that purchased more than one unit ( to weed out the potential of perhaps one or two or more large orders fulfilled, which would change the perspective somewhat ) Our dealerships numbers are pretty indicative and reflect the States trends...and theres 172 California Dealers, if we all sold 7 ( as we did ) thats 1204 units...which is in line with Californias 25% of the countries BEV sales... and akirby, you are welcome to call me a sceptic. That said..out of all the Electrics I like the Lightning the most...drives fantastic, but from a sales standpoint my thoughts differ somewhat, I hope that changes, but cant say Im brimming with confidence based on what im witnessing. That said....2024 I dont have particularly high hopes for as I have a sense sales across the board will be dropping....hope my gut is wrong.
  5. actually yes I did...but I think that maybe a breakdown would explain the numbers better before jumping to conclusions...how many were fleet orders ?, where were they sold, in what percentages and were they individual sales or were there som bulk orders being fufilled now the PRO is more readily avail...Id say im the one with the open mind because without THAT breakdown numbers means pretty much nothing barring click bait and fanboi applause, and please keep in mind California is THE biggest BEV market in the States...and I also wouldnt jump to any conclusions based on a one months sales jump....so, what is the big picture as youve stated?...1 months uptick or Ford cutting back production due to dwaning demand?....
  6. just saw this so well re-visit...its selling extremely well, but wait...so well in fact they are cutting production 50% next year...sarcasm...yep...100%...I can only attest to what I personally witness...its NOT selling...we sold 7 last month, that said THAT was a 50% increase from the Month before which is statistically outstanding correct? ....and the units that sold were mostly PROs...something we have not had a lot of...now we have a plethora, so supply cannot be blamed for lacklustre sales...we now have more BEV F150s than gas...
  7. we had more interest in PROS than anything else....we couldnt get em, and here was no allocation...initially barring the onesys and twosies were just the mega buck versions, and that was BEFORE the 10 k MSRP drop....the other issue was from order date to delivery...something we are still putting up with on ICE vehicles people actually want...Transits are an absolute $hitshow.... Ive got one guy ordered a 22, flipped to a 23, and still hasnt arrived after 18 months....
  8. IMO they should have released the PROs first and worked up...instead the first units were 90k and upwards....I semi understand the logic, but the market base is larger the cheaper the units, get the cheaper ones out there first and then adress any issues...then release the $$$ units
  9. Totally agreed....but sales shouldnt be about Tax Breaks in my opinion, ...undisguised bribery!~ lol...the future will be interesting...my fingers are crossed that lessons were learned...somewhat Ironic is the deluge of deliveries we have had of late, probab ly 90 % of whats coming off the Trucks is Lightnings.....all PROS....its like a day late dollar short...
  10. true...and I think its great we are basically lectured to by individuals that literally Fly personal Jets to summits to preach what we should and shouldnt do with such a basic necessity called travel....( the hookers are just icing )
  11. Im gobsmacked.....yep..I went low brow sarcasm STOOPING...next you know well be able to advirtise deals on Mach E's...Im sorry, but this is just bad oversight that was writing on the wall and thye Decision makers are finally waking up...EV needs to be adressed with baby steps/ a dash of apprehension and consertive decison making...hype has a l.imited shelf life regardless of its form of propulsion or man ufacturer, and Fords not the only one that went overboard..VW is crying the blues right now as well...in fact barring Tesla, is anyone setting the world on fire numbers wise ? ( and Im not sure even Tesla ids lighting sales numbers on fire, so to an extent things are economy based ) ..not to mention profitability
  12. it has been a BIG issue inthe Transit Connects....and replacements are $$$$$$...
  13. lol...welcome to the Geezer club...Id love one of those trucks right now...
  14. lol...understand that...but what does a Ranger start at now?.....and actually the 2.3 motor with the stick shift was absolutely unbreakable...I believe the same engine resided in the Tempo and was avarient of the Pinto drivetrain!....as for problematic engine...probably pertainiung to the 3.0 perhaps, I know of a few owners that had issues ...but problems werent a guarantee...my boy drove his for 300,000 miles.....and it STILL runs...
  15. lol...sadly we veiw the Maverick as "affordable"...this may give away how long Ive been in the business, but I recall we had Rangers advertised ( no A/C ) stick shift std cabs advertised for $8995........scary...probably explains my crotchety nature at times...lol.
  16. remember a BIG part of BEVs gleam is the questionable Global Warming/ Climate change alarmists that deem BEVs as one of the holy grails to Earth reparations.....another set of subjects that Mainstream Media/ GOVT has focused on given its polarizing subject matter...more clicks more Advertisng revenue...screw it if certain subjects that dont support the writers narrative are conveiniently glossed over or end up on the editing floor...
  17. not to mention the Hybrid would eject the horribly trouble prone 8 speed transmission!
  18. from my standpoint we cant keep our hands on any of them, but theres significantly more interest and calls on the Hybrids....and the prices the used Hybrids are fetching is ridiculous
  19. money and political affiliation would be my guess...one only has to look at an outlets owner, and which Political Party they contribute to, to know which way their narrative will err......and THATS sad as people/ voters are easily manipulated, news IS party line propaganda now...apologies if im de-railing this, but in my mind BEVsare in fact a Political Chess piece appeasing and pandering to a certain "block" of voters...
  20. accountability for innaccuracy on the public stage promoting BS may/ would help curtail half of the bull$hit. I have no idea how some of these outlets get away with half of the bogus material they publicize..and sometimes it gos on for months/ years...if we didnt learn anything from the COVID kneejerk debate box, or the "Russia Russia Russia" debaucle its rather sad...and what pisses me off...whats the common denominator?....damn Politics, and now the whole BEV subject , to me at least, seems to be going down the same lines....ARG!
  21. so true....weeding through several "outlets" to get some basis of truth and reality has become the norm...Im not sure it hasnt been this way from the get go, but it seems the BS has upped its game in the last few years...doesnt help when certain EXTREMELY important information gets tamped down prior to important election years...and thats been exposed for going on for decades...the Media has become a very important Political tool...rather sad...want to talk Political interference, Media would be the #1 proponent...absolutely inexcusable.
  22. on the money mate...i know most of my agnst is having it rammed down my throat with ZERO choice...flaws aside ( although they have a propensity to be casually swept under thr rug, which i also find annoying....can you tell?.....lol )
  23. redundant...someone already posted the explanation...little bit of "shake and bake :" marketing by Ford....
  24. well, apparently 400 Ford dealers have pulled out of being part of Fords EV revolution.....maybe that will change, but right now cant say I blame them...
  25. Ford missed some serious oppurtunities on the Broncho colors as well...theres hould be an Olive drab....Avalanche Grey....just to name two....
