  1. You should order now actually. I ordered last week and my dealer is expecting a March-April arrival date.
  2. I had the same thing happen to mine- they had to replace the head unit 3 times. Nick's right go to the dealer ASAP because those things aren't cheap. As far as a wiring harness issue, most likely not.
  3. I think that's a pic of the Fusion Sport?
  4. http://www.leftlanenews.com/mercury-milan-hybrid.html I'm ordering a 2010 Fusion SEL I4 soon!
  5. There used to be a place here that you could post to request an X Plan PIN. But I don't know where that is now!!
  6. Well my transmission is still good to go, but a few weeks ago, in stop-and-go traffic, the motor started to sputter upon take-off. I had it at the dealer twice, the second time they found it needed a new throttle body. A new throttle body at 30000 miles! Glad it was under warranty, but anyone else have this problem?
  7. I install an aftermarket remote start in all my vehicles. I have the dealer make me a 3rd key, but make sure it is not the one with the built-in keyless entry buttons on it, but can still start the car. That key gets stored in a box under the dash that has an antenna in it. The box has a small transmitter that gets installed next to the key cylinder. The box gets activated only when the remote start tells it to (before it actually cranks the starter) and sends the 3rd key's signal to the key cylinder. This way it tricks the system but doesn't permanently disable the system. You don't need to buy the Ford-brand remote start, IMO the quality stereo/alarm shops have better stuff. I intalled alarms and remote starts professionally for over 3 years, so I know a lot about how these work. Anything else though, well...
  8. Sweet. Thanks for your help. I'm going to go back and read my paperwork from the lease again and see if there is anything in there about this too. With any luck I'll have one of the 1st 2010 I4's!
  9. Regarding the Job 1 date- Maybe Ice or others can help. My 06 Fusion lease is done on 1/3/09 and I really would love to order the first 2010 Fusion I4. But, seeing how it won't be here in time, what are my options? Is there a way to hang on to my current leased Fusion until the new one arrives? This is my first leased car. I don't want to lease an 09. What do you think? Thanks
  10. Update- 3500 miles after the reflash and still good to go. Anyone's symptoms come back yet?
  11. We'll probably have to wait until an aftermarket manufacturer figures out how to add a video input to this new nav system. Although, the MKS nav moves the backup camera out of the rearview mirror and into the nav screen, so maybe you could figure it out looking at that.
  12. Yeah I know, but it looks goofy. It looks like a big TV remote stuck to the side of your car. Definately not as nice as from the factory.
  13. I was upset it wasn't available on my Fusion, I use it all the time on my Explorer. I can lock it up and not worry about carrying around the keys. Set your code to an important date you need to remember (such as your wife's birthday or anniversay) and you'll always remember it (or get locked out because you forgot the date)
  14. So, if Ford wants to set a price on a vehicle, when is a prudent time to do so? AFTER the vehicle is available??
  15. Awww man, I thought we were good to go for longer than that. I gotta keep this truck now forever since it won't be worth when it's paid off.
  16. I don't know, I just told him to look up the lastest TSB.
  17. There should be a ">" button next to the "Text/Scroll" button on the right. Try that.
  18. I just had the transmission reflash work done to fix mine. I had 2 of the symptoms- sometimes the tranny would be really loud and howl on takeoff from a stop until it upshifted. But, most times it would clunk to 1st gear as you were slowing down right before the stop. I just told the Service Manager to "look for the TSB, the transmission shifts wierd". He admitted that he didn't think the re-flash would work, but it did.
  19. I always heard you are supposed to change oil when the engine is warm, that may be an old wives tale. EVERY new Ford I've owned has the oil filter on tight as if the Hulk is twisting those on at the factory. I dread the first oil change, then it's ok after that with the the new Fram filter I replace it with!
  20. Another way to think about the 'nag' screen- YOU may have signed your life away to own it, but not the others who may drive your car. Ever see how many warning labels are on the side of a step ladder these days! A reputable auto glass company would be able to get you a perfect replacement for your windshield. All windshields are laminated for strength and sound absorbtion. I don't see how Merc could get away with putting in a "not as strong as it could be" windshield and I don't see how a replacement windshield would raise your db levels??? A mileage log is a great idea- it wouldn't be too hard to do and could be very useful.
  21. Here is Autoweek's sum-up review http://autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?...1023/LATESTNEWS
  22. I'm not sure why you are looking at the FTO's. Those are really for the dealers ordering a lot of vehicles, so that they don't get stuck with a unit that has an unpopular option package. Download the order guide, scroll down to the options, and see that the Nav option is available only on Limited V6, FEH, and FEH Limited. It's as easy as that.
  23. Nope, no 'whinning' or 'getting mad' here. Trust me, if I didn't want any help, I wouldn't have started this thread. Thanks for looking up the mpg ratings, I should have thought of doing that first. I'm just posing the question- what is the purpose of the 4.6 3V if it gets the same MPG as the 5.4? The lower price point is the 4.6 2V. Of course, Ford does do some goofy things and this may be one of them. I thought maybe an insider here would shed some light. But on my situation- The wife loves her Explorer too much, and absolutely dreads having to drive the Fusion or any sedan for that matter, so trading that in (hell it's only a year old) is not an option. I'm buying the F-150 for a daily driver now, than after it gets paid off will be relegated to weekend duty and I can go back to a, let's see, probably a 2013 Fusion for my (short) commute. So I'm looking more long term here, like hanging on to this 2009 truck until it falls apart. Who knows what gas is going to cost in 20 years when I am still driving this, so if there was a 2 or 3 mpg difference it might make sense now to give up a few HP now since I'm not ever going to be towing 9000 lbs of anything. I wish I could hold on 1 more year to the Fusion because then I could get the EcoBoost, but the Fusion lease is up this winter. Maybe I'll have to go another cycle, like '09 F-150, then '13 F-150 EcoBoost, then '17 Fusion which by that time it better be fuel cell!
  24. "The Mileage difference will be so small." If the mileage difference is going to be so small then why would they waste resources to engineer it into the new truck? They could have just kept the 4.6 2V version for the folks that need the lower price point. "Why would you want the 4.6 over the 5.4." I like the 3V version of it in my Explorer. I plan on trading in my Fusion for a new F-150, it will be a daily driver and for hauling my 4 wheeler to my cabin in the woods. With $4+ per gallon gas on the horizon, a 2 or 3 MPG difference can add up pretty quick.
