  1. I probably will end up getting the tow package in whatever truck I buy.
  2. There's a good reason why sport mode costs $0. Because it's a gimmick that doesn't really do much. I never bother putting my Mustang in sport mode after experiencing what it actually does.
  3. I'm just telling you where I come out on it. I'm going to be buying a full size pickup in the not to distant future and for me a pickup truck with sport mode is just silly. Mind you we aren't talking about SVT / Lighting / purpose built sport trucks. We are talking about a run of the mill light duty truck. I'd rather have the 4 row radiator than the the sport mode if they are going to start putting things on trucks that they don't really need. Heck even a dedicated transmission cooler would be more useful to me than some sport mode.
  4. The sport mode is a gimmick. It changes the shift pattern a bit but it's nothing note worthy. If they really wanted to do something with the F150 than lets talk about a heavy duty 4 row radiator as standard equipment. How about a more heavy duty transmission? Something along those lines. You know, something that a truck actually needs. An F150 needs a sport mode about like a fish needs a bicycle.
  5. Big woop. I have sport mode on my Mustang. It's nothing to write home about, just a gimmick.
  6. I said "all trophy kills", you even quoted it. Furthermore we both know these guys are not paying 50 grand to go to Africa and kill lions and elephants for the meat or the organs. They do it because they just want to kill something, which is sick and disgusting. I especially have to laugh when they start giving everyone the excuse of "but the money we pay goes to conservation efforts." That's not even a halfway decent cop out of an excuse. If they're that interested in helping with the conservation of these animals than just pay the 50 grand and skip the part where they needlessly kill them after making them suffer in horrific pain for 40 hours just so they can cut their heads off. I don't care how anyone tries to justify that kind of behavior, it's sick.
  7. As fuzzy correctly pointed out I am not talking about locals who kill animals because they need the meat to survive. I've made that clear several times already. I have no problem with that, it's a part of nature. It is, however, disgusting and wrong to kill an animal just to display it as a trophy in your house. As for the folks around you that "love to hunt but don't eat meat" quite frankly they are just as disgusting. I'm glad the meat goes to good use but frankly what you're talking about is people who just want to kill something for fun, which is a disgusting thing as far as I'm concerned.
  8. It's a start to be sure but I think a better move would be for the Congress to step in and ban the importation of all trophy kills from overseas. You know it used to be that people would have mummy unwrapping parties back in the 19th century. Ancient mummies stolen from tombs across Egypt would be taken back to England where it was considered "fun" and "normal" to unwrap a dead mummified body. Now we consider that sort of behavior vulgar and savage and rightly so. Just as we evolved on the issue of mummy parties the world needs to evolve on the issue of big game hunting. If you're the sort of person who can't figure out any other way to express your interest in a beautiful animal than to kill it and cut it's head off than I think you need to come to grips with the fact that your a sick and disgusting individual. Hunting is for survival, not to festoon the walls of your house.
  9. I'm afraid you're completely wrong on this one Fatso. 1. This man was not hunting a lion for its meat. I have no problem with someone who goes hunting because they need the meat to eat. But going out and hunting an animal just so you can kill it, cut its head off and put its dead head on the wall of your house is freaking sick. If a human being hunted other human beings, killed them and then cut their heads off and hung them on the walls of their home we would consider them a psychopathic murderer, but evidently when you do the same thing to an animal it's "normal". No it's not normal, its disgusting and sick. 2. I don't care who this clown paid, as soon as he saw that there was a tracking collar on the animal he knew that he had done something wrong and he didn't report himself to the authorities. Never mind the fact that killing an animal just for the sake of killing it is sick, he also knew he had done something illegal. 3. This is not the first time this sick prick has done something like this. He had a similar incident when he killed a bear here in the US several years ago. Once again, he wasn't out there because he needed bear meat to eat. He just wanted to kill a bear and stick its head on the wall of his house. I don't care how anyone tries to justify that kind of behavior it's disgusting and sick. Yes I eat meat. Yes I'm well aware that domesticated cattle and poultry are raised for the specific purpose of being ultimately killed for their meat and other organs. There is nothing wrong with that. There is something wrong with killing an animal just for the sake of killing it. He's a vile piece of crap.
  10. Sure I get that. Right now the Toyota fanboys are upset about the fact that VW has beat them globally. I'm just not a person who roots for a car company. To me they are just corporate entities that don't give a crap about anyone or anything other than making money. Doesn't really get me excited if Ford or GM has a good quarter.
  11. LMAO I'm sure the GM guys are off somewhere crying in their beer right now. You sure showed them.
  12. I love it when one "internet expert" gets upset with another "internet expert" for doing the same thing he does around here all the time just at the other end of the spectrum. It's funny because he can't seem to see his own faults in others.
  13. Both the local Chevy and Ford dealerships here have pretty sizeable Fleet / Commercial sales departments. Not sure how much product they move but there is always a generous number of standard white work trucks on the lots.
  14. lol This is a sweeping generalization. Guess who posted that "Richard"? This is a sweeping generalization. A sweeping generalization from the other moderator here, akirby. Another broad sweeping generalization from our old friend akirby. Another gneraliztion from you. Plenty of customers who buy or bought German cars later go on to buy domestic brands and vice versa. That is of course unless you have some proof that once someone buys a german vehicle they never buy anything else. I have a good friend who is a former VW owner that would argue that point with you. Quick, lets get premier to go edcuate that man that its only expensive to him and the rest of the world disagrees with him. All of these examples are from one thread. I could go over just about every thread on this forum and find similar examples. If you're going to "lecture" someone about making sweeping statements I certainly am not going to be alone in the audience and let us not forget to take your own advice. I just wanted to add that on one thing you are absolutely right Richard. There is too much contension and it's not worth everyone getting upset about. So I'll go ahead and quit posting here and thus end this bickering. Hope that works out good for you guys.
  15. It's going to depend on the vehicle in question. The margin on an F750 for instance is by no means going to be a loss for Ford regardless of who the customer is and 99% of the time that is a commerical customer. I might agree that dumping cars into rental fleets probably doesn't have the same margin as a private sale of the same vehicle but most likely whatever slim margin is there is probably more than offset by the big commerical sales. Even a big order of say 80 F150 work trucks to company X is still going to have a decent margin.
  16. Mmmm Okay that's a legit point of view but could it be possible that it's just a UAW thing?
  17. Nope it got started rolling down hill before that Richard. As is ever the case, you overlook the condescending and argumentative posts of others and only see what you want to see.
  18. Right, because I'm the one that said "haters gonna hate" right? Whoops, no that was a moderator who doesn't like it when people argue or start arguments. lol. I give as good as I get around here and that street runs both ways.
  19. Why? Because I happen to think that Ford is a good brand that makes some good products and so are a number of other brands? Because I think that there is no such thing as "the best" brand or "better than all the rest" brand? You go ahead Richard I couldn't care less pal.
  20. It's a vicious circle. I can't tell who's following who now.
  21. What are you talking about? Americans won't buy hatchbacks. I know they won't because a bunch of "experts" on this very forum said they wouldn't. lol
  22. I know. If only I would join the "Ford is Great! Everyone else sucks!" bandwagon that everyone else around here is on than I would be okay right? But so sorry, I prefer the real world.
  23. All I see is a couple of guys that are going to follow me all over this forum and try to start arguments. I'm well aware that when I say it's overpriced that I am refering to what I would be willing to pay for it just as anyone who makes that statement is aware of that. Quit following me around like some lost puppy looking to start an argument.
