  1. WOW thats pretty darn nice! Is that a from scratch chop, or is it based on something else? I like it a lot!
  2. aaaaahhh boost. lol. My friend that has a passion for turbo Buicks has shown me all the fun things a boosted car can do.
  3. stop sidestepping the clutch at 7k! STOP! lol
  4. Fords have had orange peel forever. Hell my 04 Ranger had some HUGE dry spots on the back of the cab around the rear glass. My 09 Ranger had a big RUN on the header panel under the driver side headlamp lol. (it was changed out when i got into an accident late last year sooo.... fixed!) GM and Chrysler also have terrible orange peel on most of their cars from the factory. IMO BMW has some of the best looking OEM paint finishes that aren't hand applied. (Aston Martin finishes are gorgeous up close, but they are colorsanded and polished before they leave the plant) Mercedes finishes can be good, but some of the cars with the powdercoated clear have clearcoat that has more texture than the surface of the moon.
  5. Saw you driving around. I don't blame you for the new look.
  6. http://www.autoblog.com/2010/05/20/breaking-toyota-and-tesla-to-partner-on-ev-production-in-califo/ Ok, I am a little divided on this issue. For one, I am glad that NUMMI employees will probably be put to good use here. However, I am disappointed in Tesla. I live in Norwalk, CA. Downey CA borders us on the north and I was waiting with some excitement for Telsa to open up their Model S factory there. Now, they pulled out and left so we wont get the jobs in the area anymore. It would have been a nice boost to Downey and the neighboring communities.
  7. Budget? Spray is usually cheaper than a nice set of headers. Of course, when the bottle is empty you better head home.

  9. I've rented a Flex from National.... and so have several co workers. They are in the rental fleets too.
  10. The SN95 Mustang convertibles had a 25lb weight attached to the body for the same reason. I believe Fox and SN95s also had the dogbone attached to the rear axle to quell vibration or some other NVH reason. That however was minor in that it only weighed 7lbs or so.
  11. the car sounds friggin great. It is a bit weird though. I've gotten so used to the 5.0L OHV and the 4.6L over the years that I will just have to get used to hearing the new 5.0L's exhaust. Its beautiful sounding.... but different.
  12. Wasn't it the Funkmaster Flex edition? Was that just a concept or did it actually exist?
  13. reverse polarity dark matter so they produce light instead.
  14. http://jalopnik.com/5535150/2011-ford-focus-rs-first-us-drive Looks like fun. Who knows whats coming for us, but hopefully something as interesting as the above.
  15. Do you have HIDs or are you running halogens in the housings?
  16. How do you like those projector lights? I've heard different things about the aftermarket ones available.
  17. Expensive, but it sounds like a blast.
  18. Awesome. a 1.5 drop is right about what I'm looking for too and the caster/camber plates are a must. I hate killing tires for no other reason than I was too cheap to do it right the first time.
  19. Rest assured, they are destined for the trash heap as soon as i find something else i like more. I hate those plate frames. If it was a major dealer, I could probably live with it but I'm sure this is some indie dealer that I really don't feel the need to advertise for. I need to have a frame too. To me anyway, running no frames just looks unfinished and rental car esque. I would run without a front plate too if the bumper didn't already have the two holes drilled in it. I hate front plates as well and I will run without them whenever I can (even though we are required to have them in CA).
  20. Right now... not much in the way of plans. I want to lower it (spring and strut reccomendations?), get some different wheels (I have something oddball in mind..) and I want some different gears. This thing has 2.73s in it IIRC. Yuck. I want some 3.73s in it. I really don't care for tall gearing. Sure it's nice on the freeway 3.73s are still ok with the overdrive.
  21. Of course! If I didn't take the long way I wouldn't have new plugs, wires, a coil, injectors, fuel filter, new used ECU, new used TPS, new used IAC, cleaned MAF and FPR. It's the journey right? ha ha BTW - the song "Black Sheep" from the Walk Hard - The Dewey Cox Story soundtrack just came on my Zune. The cat in your Avatar nodding in tune with it kind of freaked me out for a second lol.
  22. Well it isn't a NEW Mustang (I wish!) but I purchased a Mustang recently. I actually got it in February, but it had some issues that needed some serious attention before I decided to get too attached to it. Well now those issues have been fixed so I can talk about it a bit more lol. Its a 1994 GT with the prerequisite 5.0L and a 5 speed. Here are some pics This is as I bought it. $1,700 brought it home, but it idled rough, and it had an issue where it would ping pretty bad and if you nailed it, the car would not rev past 3000/3500 rpm. It was almost like it was hitting a rev limiter. very annoying and driveability sucked. Reasonably clean interior. The leather isn't perfect, but much nicer than others I looked at beforehand. I hate the stock 94/95 lights. Much like I hate the late 80s Mustang GT louvered lights. Because I am not a mechanic (i am in the paint industry) and I hate getting greasy, I decided a cosmetic makeover was in need. So I took it to work and made a difference. And all back together. Its a Honda color. I hated the stock silver too. It is now NH700M Honda Alabaster Silver. No more louvered lights either Thats pretty much where we stand right now. My buddy that is MUCH more mechanically inclined than I am helped me a ton by working on it and troubleshooting the engine issues. After swapping out injectors, FPR, plugs, wires, coil and misc other items, we found that the previous owner put in a reman distributor that had a bad pickup and hall effect sensor. We changed that and now it runs like a dream. Well, it runs better than a 140,000 mile car should. Lots of fun so far. I still have some issues to fix, but that will come soon enough. Time to enjoy it . Is it weird that I remember when these cars came out and how cool they were back then? lol.
  23. I find it quite attractive. Very good looking for a B car.
