  1. You can hear them too? So, I'm not the only one...
  2. Let's see... Monday we're going back, A Shift is on days and we switch the next week, B Shift will be on days.
  3. That or they usually say, "Fords are jus' not sellin' "
  4. Exactly! I am starting to see more buzzing around here. The other day my wife came home and said a gentleman asked her if she liked it and he was going to get his wife to test drive a Flex. I get more people looking at my flex than my Mustang!
  5. Well, here you go! We were looking for a replacement for our Windstar with 200k. We could't have picked better! As for quiet, I have never had anything as quiet as this! There is alot of sound deadening material in it, I would know, I see them going down the line. Anyways, we have noticed at how we do not have to raise our voice when driving at highway speeds, you can whisper to one another. The ride is smooth and very reasuring. This is no tin can! The view of the road is commanding while not feeling as if you are driving a pickup or a bus. The interior is spacious and very well finished. I get complimented every time someone gets in the back seat. The reaction is the same every time, they feel like they are in a limousine. There is plenty of power, way more than the Windstar had. Remember, this is a family vehicle, not a Mustang "that's my other car", but when you need it, the power is there. As for the fuel economy, "once more remember this is a big vehicle" it's way better than the Windstar. When you open the doors to get in, you don't get your pants dirty on the bottom of the car because the door wraps down to the bottom below the floorline. Back to the engine, it's very smooth, start one up and pop the hood "no prop rod by the way", you won't see it shake and hooked up with the 6 speed transmission, it is smooth. If there is anything else you would like to know, just ask.
  6. Yes we did and the taxman LOVES us for it.
  7. So Tony C thinks we make too much? Isn't that the pot callin' the kettle black? How about each time the government is in the red, why don't all the civil servants take a pay cut?
  8. Hey Trimm, sounds more like you want NO taxes.
  9. Nope, you're right, our Flexs don't have dual exhausts, simply two exaust ports out of the muffler. As for the real dual exhaust systems, just like the Edge, the dual exhaust will simply be a singular pipe from the engine and then split in the rear before going through the two mufflers. On the MKT with the EcoBoost, I do believe that it will be a true dual exhaust with two pipes leaving the engine and going to thier respective mufflers. :stats:
  10. Saturday I went out to do some errands, saw four of them buzzing around where I live. Just like any car, as soon as you see a couple on the road, that's when the sales numbers start going up. People tend to buy what they see on the road.
  11. Almost 4000kms on the odometre and no problems yet, except for keeping it clean with all the salt on the roads. I get a lot of comments on how better it looks than in the commercials. It's still to soon to say exactly what the fuel consumption is but, it is definitely better than the Windstar!
  12. Pretty damn good if you ask me. :shades:
  13. We keep hearing about all the money that the government is "giving the Big 3". We keep hearing how companies of all kind are losing money. Wait, what about the oil industry? Where are they in all of this? They have been making more money than you can shake a stick at! If anything, they should be helping the auto industry more that anyone else. If it wouldn't be for the auto industy they would be nowhere close to being as rich as they are today. OK Shell, Exxon, Texaco, BP just to name a few, it wasn't the imports that got you started ang kept you hummin' all these years!
  14. Yep, just picked up our new Grey SEL Flex on Thursday. I have to say, the more I drive it, the more I like it. On Friday I went out with a friend and he wasn't sure in the beginning if he liked it or not. By the end of the day after saying, "oh, this is cool" and "that's neat" and "oh, I like that" a few times, he asked me if I could go back and show his wife the car. They are looking for a replacement for the van. Anyway, we can't get over how quiet it is on the highway. I will keep you posted but I gotta say, we love it!
  15. Aw c'mon Trim, they do get $18/hr. You forgot to factor in the $5.50 an hour for all the stuff they have to pay the government, Health and Safety, Workman's Comp and so on... I hope that the company doesn't have to pay benefits too, like, Oh my God! Once they start figuring that all in, they make $48.26/hr.
  16. Got to sit in the MKT yesterday, I must say that it is different than most of the vehicles out there. It will definitely turn heads. As for the engine, it was just a 3.5L in the prototype. Can't wait to see the finished product come down the line.
  17. The way I see it is, if it helps the company, the company has more $$$ to take care of the problems here, no? If the company makes no $$$ be it here or from abroad, then we're all doomed! :reading:
  18. To me a spare tire is like insurance. You don't want to use it but you are damn glad you have it when you need it. Not too long ago I hit a small piece of steel on the hiway, probably a piece of leaf spring. My front tire picked it up and it blew out my rear tire, no amount of run flat could fix this. I pulled over, put on the spare and went on. Had I had no spare, I would have to call for a tow truck, wait for the tow truck, get towed to some place ready to rob you blind and your day is shot! :glare:
  19. It's 'cause it's a Ford! Now when Toyoty or Honduh bring out a vehicle that happens to be pricey, that's OK because it has all the wonderful innovations in it. Now that Ford has a vehicle with all the wonderful innovations, IT'S TOO PRICEY! Double standard if you ask me.
  20. Nope, the only "temps" we have are summer students and they should be gone by next week.
  21. A few years ago, our Mercury dealers went the way of the Dodo. Some dealers became Lincoln-Ford and the rest just closed. Was Canada just a testing ground for the U.S.? Probably. There was a time if you wanted more chrome, you bought a Mercury. Now, just order a higher trim package. SE, SEL, Limited. Remember when a different trim package meant buying a "different" car? Rideaux 500, Montcalm, Marquis and Grand Marquis. Four trim levels of the same car but sold as four different cars. Times have changed.
  22. Nice try, Sparky still funnier! BTW, the Flex is not intended to be a mass produced vehicle. It's a "niche" vehicle.
