  1. I wish I could remember where I read it, but it was something about not disconnecting the battery to cure the problem. I thought that was BS becasue what would you do if you had to remove or replace the battery.
  2. Unfortunately, I don't think Ford gives a rat's ass about whether or not you or I are happy.
  3. Davew

    Rust on exhaust?

I couldn't decide if I should laugh or cry.
  4. When the cameras were off, A.G jumped out of the Merc, back into the Lexus, and drove 80mph back to his gas guzzling house.
  5. Didn't say anything about not liking them. In fact, I think they look great. But, based on experience with 20's on one of my AWD vehicles that was built to have them, handling is so-so and they're worth crap in snow.
  6. So, the logic is that since the car is in Arizona, and this car will never leave there, it will never see snow. Humm, so much for ski trips to Mt. Lemon.
  7. They do sell these vehicles, tires and rims east of the Rockie you know.
  8. Check the after market. Body color side moldings have begun to show up for Edges, so why not for a Sport Trac.
  9. So what's up with your statement about Americans losing their jobs?
  10. Nope, just order, install and enjoy!
  11. Cool, but not worth a diddly in the snow. I've always wondered about how adversely using larger rims and tires effect handling, component wear, steering geometry, speedometer readings, etc. I guess if things get screwed-up, you just put the stock rims and tires back on and take it in for warranty repairs.
  12. Where I live, only skunks smell like skunks. You'd better hope that serpentine belts (new or shredded) don't smell like skunks. If they do, that would suggest air is being sucked from your engine bay (possibly along with fumes and other odors) and spread into the vehicle. Your vehicle seems newer than those that develope the typical stinky A/C, that attributed to mold thriving on moisture and pollutants on the evaporator coil. Could something have crawled into the system? Could someone have placed something in your cowl intake. Do you park the vehicle outside, in an area where a skunk (snoozing on a warm hood) could have sprayed it? It it's that objectionable, take it back to the dealer. They have chemicals to use that may help.
  13. Ah, to be young enough again to discern the fine nuances in music while flying down the road. The last two times I came across people with fine, high power music systems in their vehicles, the body panels were vibrating and farting so badly, I laughed so hard I amost cried. Sadly, the other fine music system blew up when the car it was in drove in front of a fire truck and as totaled.
  14. I disagree. Although there are things wrong with the economy in general, I have faith in our manufacturers and the people who work for them. In retrospect, GM was on top and now isn't. So what have we learned? Nobody (read Toyota) stays on top forever.
  15. Problems occur with every brand of vehicle. Before the Lemon Law, I had a brand new Supra that had a knock in the front end from day one. It took one of the company VP's (working with engineering) years to find a solution to the defect in the electronically controlled struts. By then, I was selling the car. During my ownership (4 yrs) the leather on the drivers seat wore to a point that looked and felt like sandpaper. At first, the regional rep said it wasn't there fault, it was the pants I was wearing! Ya, like I wore the same pants for 4 years...dumbass. The VP I dealt with regarding the strut problem got that resolved in a day. With the targa top off of the car, it exhibited cowl shake so bad, I never took the top off again. Great job there Toyota. I've had great experience with Ford products over the years. However, I'll never return to the dealer where I bought my last Explorer. I took my wifes L/M product to them for some work. When I picked up the car, there were still problems. To make a long story short, if the bratty service dork were brave enought to come out from behind the counter, I would have dragged him to the men's room and washed his mouth out with soap. So, rather than going back to that dealer and paying them money to be their punching bag, I went to another dealer and have been receiving top notch service. Bottom line, no vehicle, part, dealer, or person is perfect. So, don't patronize a dealer who doesn't perform to your satisfaction.
  16. It's an extra step in the paint process that adds depth and a pearl-like quality. Therefore, additional work and material = extra charge.
  17. Has anyone seen what the stone green color for the 08's looks like?
  18. Thank you very much for taking the time to post this info. Please tell your boss(es) that I think you're a great asset and deserve a generous raise. :happy feet:
  19. Aside from the tires, wheels and fender blow hole, what's custom about this Edge? Oh, body color ground effects and some goofy lettering on the windshield. Looks cool though.
  20. Good luck with the Benz, especially since they came in dead last in reliability.
  21. Based on (poor) sales, I hate to say but you could be wrong. What do you find so offensive with the dang grill and which one specifically? What were they thinking (or smoking) when they gave the EB its own grill and the bottom and top models share the same grill? Have you seen the trim and grill on the Ironman? YIKES, now that's butt ugly.
  22. Don't have to guess. I know it's the same tired, old camel, tan, beige, sand, or whatever name you wish to call it. But let's see; the leather, headrests, lower seat panels, console, carpet, gear selector, door panel and arm rest are not tan with the EB luxury package. Care to guess what color they are?
  23. Looks like he's in a downward financial spiral. :titanic:
  24. It's OK, I didn't feel a thing. The first tip off was that Ford released the news...on a Sunday! Ya, right. Secondly, I'm sure that since Ford hasn't even come close to amortizing their investment in the 2006 redesign, they wouldn't be dropping it for 2008. I may not know the inner workings of Ford, but I do know how to ask questions and use Google and Wards to find the latest vehicle news.
  25. OMG, are you serious? :o If so, I guess I'm buying an 07. Thanks for the heads up.
