  1. I like the pictured interior but it would fly in a PI. The shifter must be on the column to allow the aftermarket console to be mounted for radios, radar, CPU, etc.
  2. The water my officer tried to forge wasn't much over 18 to 24 inches deep. The problem was a truck went through in the opposite direction creating a wave. Didn't take much to wipe it out.
  3. Every time I see a picture of a PI interior, I tend to nod off. All those years working midnights..... Really no need to oder a plain CV. The PI state contract price in NJ was 19.7K. Ordering one though a standard purchase would probably be more than that price. It would be foolish not to order the PI. You lose too many options such as the installed wiring, pillar spot the interior light cutoff and a few others that would cost to install at a later date. If the PI fades from production, many are going to miss it in LE. All the other attempts never came close. They might look hotter and go faster but none are better suited for the job than the PI. I had a patrol officer rear ended by a drunk on the highway at 60 mph plus. The car was a crumpled mess but he had nothing more than some minor back injuries. Of course after we were done with them, the weren't worth much... By the way, move the air intake higher. We hydrolocked two going through some high waters during a heavy rainstorm....
  4. That was the Brown's in NH. Mr. Brown was a thug from years back doing time for assault. His wife was a dentist. They thought they had all the angles and made a lot of threats against anyone they thought were coming to get them. In the end, the US Marshalls walked up to their front door and the idiot opened it and they walked right in. His handfull of supporters managed to get themselves arrested for illegially purchasing weapons and bringing them to the house. The area residents wanted them gone for weeks. They are glad they are gone. Next the house will be put up for sale for back taxes...
  5. Way too much of the food production in this country has moved overseas so the farms can be converted into housing. We will be as dependent on foreign countries for food as we are for oil very soon.
  6. I've had a Husky in my Explorer for seven years. With the raised lip it catches all the mess and liquids that spill keeping the carpet looking new. Well worth the cost. Mine is beige matching the interior. Probably costs less through a independent dealer vs. Ford.
  7. This is the second time my 99 Explorer has been recalled for the cruise control. I never even use the thing but I'll get it done anyway.
  8. Crown Vics are only sold to fleet buyers as of 2008. Plus the fact that you will not be getting a new Crown Vic for 18k. I bought them as a fleet purchase throught the State of NJ Purchase Division for police use and they were 19.8K. No way I would want one as a personal car.
  9. probably no ballistic panels, side air bags, power seat, split bench, carpet, dvd player, or upgraded lights, or silicone hoses or cruise control or adjustable pedals or fire suppression or large wheel covers or 2 spot lights or laminated side glass or other desireable P71 options... None of the items quoted above are standard on the CV PI package except the spotlights. Those prices are not returns, damages, etc. as I bought five to seven cars at a time, in any color I wanted. We usually bought Oxford White except for our unmarked vehicles. Current state contract price is $18.8K. Here's the link to the bid specs. I could order every option available and come in well under 30K http://www.state.nj.us/treasury/purchase/n...98-section1.pdf
  10. NJ State Contract price on a new Crown Vic PIU is about 19.7K. Sounds like the dealer is looking to make more than a few bucks on the car.
