  1. If by that you mean BMW, for example, they themselves have said that they will continue to build the same type of cars they've always build, even if that means paying fines for violating fuel economy standards.
  2. That reminds me of the Titan frame ad with the train pulling it against a post with a chain. That ad doesn't show you anything because if your smart enough, you'd know that in that situation the truck's frame would only be as strong as the piece of chain they used.
  3. I'd like to see a new version of these ads.
  4. What would Toyota have to compare to a Mustang if they did destroy one? NOTHING!! I believe there's an old GMC Sierra and an S-10 in some of the ads as well. I'd love to see a Ford "behind the scenes of the Tundra catapult" ad. That'd be hilarious!
  5. IIRC, don't F-150 sales make up 60% of F-series sales? Also, Toyota is spending loads of $$$ on incentives. I really don't see Tundra outselling the F-150 anytime soon, besides, there's a new one coming out this year as well. I am a bit concerned by howclose Silverado numbers are getting though. Also, if you look at the numbers posted, most trucks had a slight decline compared to F-150's 15K unit difference from last year, I suppose some of that couldve been caused by the fact that there were more F-150 customers, meaning there were more F-150 customers available to leave the truck market than from other manufacturers.
  6. The vehicle appears to be almost identical to the concept (even on the inside, which in this case is a bad thing, IMO.) I do commend GM for that fact, though.
  7. Unfotunately, unless you live in the Middle East, that's the way things are going to be. I think high output V6s like in the CTS or 335i's are going to be normal for luxury cars (even regular cars/trucks) within the next few years, except for the more expensive models, of course.
  8. Heres a drawing I did of what I think a new Continental could look like. The Continental (done yesterday) is on top. The front end incorporates Lincoln's new bow-wing(wave?) grille, along with a fender vent/Lincoln emblem combo, the rear uses a similar lightbar setup like on the MKX. I thought about giving it suicide doors, but figured I'd reserve that for an "L" model. This is a short wheelbase model pictured, BTW. I like it (obviously). There's also a pretty old Town Car sketch of mine on the bottom. (That one's not very good, though since I did it so long ago.) BTW, the Continental (top) was done entirely by hand (including wheels). Town Car wheels were done w/ a circle maker. Let me know what you all think. So that my topic goes along w/ it's title, I think a nice size (large) Continental would do well as a flagship model for Lincoln.
  9. How many units does a shift a Hermosillo entail? I think with a little bit more advertising, Fusion could fill out that 3rd shift, if it's already as close
  10. Not too well based on me seeing them. I don't see many of either, especially Liberites compared to how the old one sold when it came out.
  11. Optimism over being realistic? I hope you're joking. Look at GM's Sky/Solstice. IIRC, I read an article somewhere saying they're having trouble unloading them now that initial demand has been filled. So, based on that fact, how do you think a 2 seat Ford roadster would do in the long run? IMO, not too well as a consistent seller, at least not as well as a Flex could do. With Flex, you know that there's always going to be somebody who will need that vehicle a vehicle you can pile tons of stuff, people, whatever into, while still being fuel efficient and stylish (yes, I like it). With a small roadster, there's not necessarily always going to be a market for that type of vehicle, I know you're going to argue about the Miata, but that is an established, proven model that has it's own following already.
  12. I think at the moment, BMW pulls off the corporate grille the best.
  13. Wow, I thought you were saying the top pictures were a Chevy, until I saw the word "Maverick" on the one picture. The Camaro and that do really look alike. I agree, the Mustang interior looks a lot better.
  14. It looks like it's pretty close to production trim, if it is just a test mule, as you said.
  15. Yes, but when the concept interior wasn't that attractive, it doesn't matter about the concept to production transition. I don't like the interior.
  16. You don't need to do any of that, they'll fall apart by themselves.
  17. I've seen these commercials. They're very annoying.
  18. Oh, I see what you're saying. It's possible, I suppose. Depends what each company does regarding incentives.
  19. I think that's what he meant, since his other percentage was compared to the Freestyle.
  20. So something about this size (see Ford 54 picture) w/ Thunderbird cues (see Thunderbird pictures)?
