  1. ?? I think it will be a lot farther out than late decade before all cars are hybrid, if ever. Hybrids have a long way to go be that mainstream as I bet the majority of the public still would not buy the technology.
  2. My GF has an Acura MDX that she may be looking to trade soon...I will be trying to convince her to put this on her short list.
  3. Ok so maybe not ugly ....but a huge step backwards IMO.
  4. I hope it looks nothing like the photo that was inadvertently posted on the powerpoint presentation. That thing was ugly and looked like a Hyundai. And a true performance version would be nice.
  5. I don't think you'll pick one up for $44k....most are more like $55k and up. I guess you could order one with no options, but I've never seen a stripper on a dealer lot.
  6. Wrong! I have been putting off buying a new service vehicle waiting for the arrival of the Transit....as are several other independent reps in my company. Also, a neighbor of mine who owns a heating and cooling business is in need of several (maybe as many as 10) new vans and is trying his best to wait also. I, for one, am quite pissed at Ford for the delay. The Transit was originally due out fall of 2013. And BTW, don't think Ford doesn't make money just because fleets buy them.
  7. Audi has always had the most egregious difference in paint color between the plastic bumpers and the rest of the car. Don't notice it that much on other makes. As for the interior, I have had a BMW and a VW and both were completely awful when it came to interior quality. They just started falling apart.
  8. We get it..you don't like CUVs. Nevermind the fact almost every argument of yours against them has been shot down, you better get over it cause they're here to stay. Escapes are EVERYWHERE! Driving around my Pittsburgh territory the other day, I counted 19 of them in 3 hours. The class is that popular for many reasons, none of which you seem to be able to grasp. And BTW, my sister, who traded a MB GLK for her 13 Escape, still loves it and constantly tells me its the best vehicle she has ever owned.
  9. No way Ford's current management goes down that path.
  10. Although Ford has done a tremendous job "selling" the Ecoboost, I am not, nor was I ever, sold on turbocharging as a viable method for delivering better FE. Too many variables put the engine into boost therefore using more fuel. IMO they are similar to hybrid vehicles in that they test well on EPA cycle, but not so much in the real world.
  11. Jeez...I say ax the Navigator all together, maybe take Expy a little more upscale. Otoh I don't think either one needs to hang around. At least not at those volumes and I'm not sure a refresh will make any difference. CAFE will probably take care of it anyways.
  12. I don't like it. If that is it then I will be keeping my 06 for another generation.
  13. I will say this again for you....r-e-a-l s-l-o-w-l-y....compared to its peers, yes Ford is below average. But this is measured in problems per 100 vehicles. So that means that Ford vehicles have on average 0.18 more problems per vehicle than the average...0.18! From the best to the worst is less than 1 problem per vehicle. That is why this survey means little except for advertising fodder. As for a "design flaw" being considered a problem.....well, that could just mean someone doesn't like something, such as the shape of a window switch or a dial, which is really just an opinion... and hardly should count as a problem! Fit and finish bothers me more. I'm not discounting that Ford has had some hiccups on launches and needs to get back to basics, but I think sales and brand loyalty far outweigh these type of surveys, and I can recall several studies that have Ford at or near the top in loyalty and repeat customers. Now, 222 for the C-Max.....that is a little disturbing!
  14. My 97 F150 was completely problem free. My 12 Focus has been good except for a couple of minor issues that were promptly taken care of. I think NEVER is a bit strong.
  15. "Never" seen tech that bad?? That's just comical you have zero credibility with me. And I recall an article last year that pretty much discounted these type of surveys as useless as the difference between first and last place is statistically insigficant. Remember, these are problems per 100 vehicles.
  16. Well every SHO I have looked at has been $45k. Fusion ST at $40k would be ok.
  17. That is ridiculous. The Focus does not plow and is one of if not the best handling car in its class. I guess worn out tires with extremely low air pressure might make it plow, but I would suspect that you are just trying to stir the pot.
