  1. So are they not working on the TrailBlazer SUV anymore?/ I can't figure any other reason why they would introduce name overlap.
  2. I'd like to see how this wi-fi streaming works...
  3. One could argue that the GM twins are overpriced as well as the Armada and Sequoia... but I digress... Not saying Ford should drop the prices on the lineup. Instead, they could sell the fleet-only Expedition XL trim at retail and call it a day.
  4. Explorer from the side, Durango from the rear. Engine lineup: NA V6 as base, turbo-4 as upgrade. Only idea not copied from anyone else is the bowtie and the grille. Sheesh.
  5. I find their use of C, E, S, SL, and G designators pretty easy to follow. It's a departure from the original German, though. Now, the trailing numbers don't make any sense whatsoever, but I've become desensitized to that.
  6. Camaro is what it is. I think its lack of daily livability, particularly the smushed greenhouse and weird IP, is why it doesn't move as well as it should. Cadillac? GM definitely tried to do too much too fast. I think they were on the right track with the last Sigma II CTS, and I don't find too much wrong with the design or offerings of the current one. But one good generation wasn't gonna be enough to command the huge price hike they wanted. Same with ATS. Sticker shock is more of a problem for a damaged brand than an unproven one (i.e. Maserati, Alfa Romeo). Of note: not once did I blame the Alpha platform for the reason why these vehicles aren't as successful as they could or should be, nor will I. Rather, it's proof that GM had another good idea but found a way (or several) to underdeliver on that idea.
  7. Yeah, that's what I was mainly referring to. Does chassis cab production really move the needle in comparison to the pickups though?
  8. And don't forget GM has a plant dedicated to its big SUVs, whereas the Expedition and Navigator share a building with the Super Duty. Probably not very likely that Ford can build more anywhere else (if I'm wrong, someone tell me). RE: the stores - are you talking only about the ones that are dedicated Cadillac dealers, or are you including the ones that share lot space with the Chevy Sonic?
  9. Guess it depends. If you primarily need to haul, you go F150. If you primarily need the passenger space (or interior cargo space), you go Expedition. If you primarily need to tow, either works.
  10. Especially considering you can get a very closely related pickup starting in the mid-to-high 20s. Low-to-mid 30s if you go crew cab.
  11. I was doing a quick glance at the equipment on a base Tahoe compared to a base '18 Expedition, and the Expedition definitely beats it on features for the price. One thing that stood out to me was that every Expedition has keyless entry and pushbutton start as standard. On the Tahoe, it's not available at all on the LS, optional on the LT (base price $54K), and only standard on the Premier (base price $63k). That said, I've long believed that Ford (and GM) should still offer less expensive trims of the big non-luxury SUVs like they used to.
  12. I would like to hear from them how much per hour it pays to be this fraudulent. Daddy needs a new pair of shoes.
  13. And Explorer has 37.8" of headroom and 32-33.3" of legroom in the third row, versus 35.9" and 26.7-27.7" respectively in the Highlander. Cargo area differences are huge, but they're not the whole story.
  14. Highlander is still much closer to Edge than Explorer in size. Only reason Highlander could be comparable to Explorer is the third row seating.
  15. Fair enough, I suppose. I guess, as far as my wondering aloud about how widespread the problem was, now we have to wait until NHTSA finishes investigating seemingly every D4 Explorer ever built.
  16. "OK, Mr. Jones, just open 'er up on your way back home and call us if you get dizzy." That brings me back to my original questions though, but I'll narrow them way down... does anyone know of any similar reports with, say, the Taurus PIs? Because if we're continuing with aftermarket modifications being the culprit, then you have to cast your eye at the sedans too, however unpopular they may be in comparison.
  17. That Ford has repair advice for civilian customers implies that they at least deem it possible.
  18. Right, but I'm mainly concerned with the examples that aren't fitted for police work. It's good that Ford will cover those too (as they should), but if they haven't had the aftermarket treatment and are satisfactorily fixed anyway, that lends itself to the possibility of the modifications not being the issue.
  19. If it's an engine problem, has this occurred with other Ford/Lincoln models using the same engine? If it's a platform problem, has this occurred with other D3/D4 vehicles? If it's an Explorer problem, has this occurred with all available engines?
  20. 6AT = $199.17 per forward ratio 10AT = $159.50 per forward ratio :stirpot:
