  1. Just watch and see what happens when plants accross the country start to pick up and need more people. Openings will made and our kids and low seniority employees will be bumped out of state so ILO's with more seniority can stay in zone.
  2. Sometimes the elections become a popularity contest instead of electing the right person for the job.
  3. Wrong.... We vote as a democratic society but we live as a republic. Republic means we voted someone else to make decisions for us. You don't get to decide.
  4. We are not a democracy we are a Republic. there is a differance.
  5. Do you realize that if we would strike for anything other than Health and safety it is federaly OK for the company to bring in SCABS and they are protected by law as long as you are out on strike? If you don't believe me ask your union officials?
  6. Maybe they can get rid of more of the supervisors too. I'm sure a lot of other people could sit behind a desk and bullshit on the phone and dumb decisions.
  7. Maybe that is where we should be putting our efforts into, getting rid of NAFTA. I remember the president talking about changing it to help workers in the US. I wonder if a little reminder from about 10,000 people would put him back on track? I wonder if an e-mail or a letter would start anything? Maybe I'll give it a try. Can't make things any worse. :stats:
  8. What ever happened to the import/export tax? If we could get that back at least we could get some regulation on all the foreign products comming in and going out of the country.
  9. They are still in America. Canada and Mexico is in America. Or are you thinking of the United States of America.
  10. If we are to follow what GM is doing I see a CEO that would have to go first, if we are going to follow them.
  11. So what does that have to do with you making $75.00 an hour?
  12. Sorry it sounds a lot different than what we are exposed to down here in the states.
  13. I'm not saying you are doing anything illegle. We in the states have a different structure than you workers in Canada. We also pay high taxes on our wages. Good luck on your venture, I hope it dosen't back fire.
  14. I picked the McDonalds worker because there are more of them than total big three workers. I am a Ford worker too I earn my money just like you do. I'm just trying to say point the gun in another direction instead of at your self. Point your finger at where the problem is. The more you stir up the wages the more people will look at it. And the more you point your finger at incompedance of upper management the more they will look at them.
  15. Well pull your finger out and tell all just how much you make an hour with all your benefets added in? Don't forget to figure your medical insurance, Vacation pay, Holliday pay, dental, etc and the company pays half you Social security tax. Now that is what other people are seeing the whole picture. Not just what you take home in your pay check. The people at McDonalds don't see your pay check they see the whole picture including the the car or SUV you drive at a discount which maybe you should add into your wages. What I'm saying is when you pull your finger out be carefull of what you let out. :titanic:
  16. We just had a concessions vote a few months ago and the majority of the people voted for it. What makes you think it won't happen again?
  17. It's kind of like when the big dog jumps your leg and you can't shake him off. You got to just let him finish. :whipped:
  18. I know we only make $33-$34 dollars but what the press is figuring in is what they believe we make with all the bonus money they think we get plus the paid vacation and hollidays and insurances that must be paid for. All that is not free. It may be better to show that we are on a par and even scale with foreign car companies in the US. Don't give somebody the idea to break down our pay scale. Don't stir the pot
  19. I came from a UAW plant that when we had a company picnic all we could bring were the amount of people you had sighned up for as dependants on your insurance.
  20. I don't quite understand how it went from trade (like we'll sell you our corn and you sell us your Chilly peppers) to our plants moving our jobs to Mexico for cheap labor and government stimulas using our tax dollars to pay the companies, like Ford and GM etc to build there. Did the whole thing get out of hand or was that how it was intended?
  21. Some people from closed plants have no Ben reps, or HR's. This may be one of the only ways to stay in contact. Hope you never end up in that position.
  22. With this process you have written I have a question. I see a number of people leaving AAI and going to Saline. My question is: How can the working people jump ahead of people who are in JSP now ILO (closed plant- Monroe) and go to Saline first? If it's RTBU what kind of plant is this, Ford, Visteon, ACH? I believe they all get Ford pay checks and all their time is good in all Ford plants. I'm not trying to start trouble just trying to understand what is going on.
  23. I would rather believe what you have written, but now one of us and I prefer it was you, tell Bob King, that what he told us face to face is %$#@$$% not correct and he don't know what he is talking about. The whole gruop all came home with the same conclusion. Do you think he might have been just yanking our chains a little?
  24. Now check and see how the new contract works after it has been modified and changed.
