  1. Even if it did go that low, you are using the same short sighted thinking that got us in trouble over the last year. It simply won't last. I'm all for cheap oil and gas, but we need to be looking for alternatives now, and not getting complacent and going back to the same bad habits we had before. Believe me, I want to run out and trade my I4 Fusion for a new F-150, but it just doesn't make sense in the long run....
  2. Count me amongst the confused...lol. I realized I had to get through the GT before finding the V6. I definitely like the wheels on the V6 better than the ones on the GT.
  3. Nevermind, I didn't see the blue convertible V6.....
  4. That's what I read too. They wanted some differentiation from the Sprint Cup, and with the revival of the Pony Cars, Ford would go Mustang, Chevy would go Camaro, and Dodge would go Challenger. Not that it really matters. Like WJ said, their just fiberglass bodies with stickers on them. Especially the CoT cars....
  5. I'm not really the target audience for a Flex I guess, because I don't need the 7 passenger seating. I'd like the additional space for when it is necessary, but I don't need it. So for me, it comes down to price on this. I really like the Flex. I like it a whole lot. And I realize I could get a base model for under $30K, but I would rather get an Edge SEL with the SYNC and Vista roof for around $30K. Or get a completely loaded Escape Limited for around $28K....
  6. I'm definitely going to look into these come January when the wife's lease is up. The 2.5 Escape getting 20/28 is as good as my Fusion....
  7. The more amusing thing about the whole deal is that the BAM owner (Beth Ann Morgenthau) is a staunch Republican. I guess that sponsorship is higher on the food chain than political affiliation....
  8. Well, not for nothing, but the Camry is assembled in Kentucky with American workers, whereas the Fusion is assembled in Mexico with Mexican workers.... But I see your point, it would have looked better to have gone with an American brand...
  9. I agreed with you. Thats why I said, if you need the extra people space, you can't go wrong.
  10. I'll take back my earlier statement. I went back and looked at the Flex at my dealer, and it does have a lot of utility. And going option for option against an Edge Limited, the Flex Limited is less than $4K more. So if you need the extra people space, its not a bad deal. The biggest difference now is that the Edge has some incentives on it, so that widens the price margin to more than $6K. I would definitely buy it before I bought a Chrysler minivan....
  11. I agree wholeheartedly. Saw one when I picked up my Fusion last week. And it was stickered at $37K. Completely out of reach for what it is. If I decide to go with a crossover, I will definitely be looking at the Edge and not the Flex. BTW, where did you see 23/28? All of the Flex's I've seen are 17/24....
  12. I didn't mean to imply that the base Focus starts at that. But it starts at £12,495, which is $24,500. I'm just saying that all the boards complain about why we don't get the Euro Focus and have to deal with the one we have. The answer is $10,000. Thats the difference between the starting price of the US Focus and the UK Focus. And people in the US just aren't willing to pay that much money. Using your Volvo example, I realize that the money conversion doesn't work out exactly. The C30 starts at £14,995 in the UK, which would be about $29,500 in the States. But the starting price here in the States is actually 23,000. So obviously something has to give. But working that out proportionally still puts the Euro spec Focus starting near $20,000, and the American buying public just won't stand for that....
  13. I see now why we don't get the Euro Focus' stateside. The article I read on that Focus RS says it starts at £25,000, which is just shy of $50,000 these days. No on is going to pay $50K for a Focus, regardless of how dressed up it is.....
  14. Here is a pic of the flyer for the Blue Suede package, and it shows the seats. http://www.fordfusionforum.com/index.php?a...post&id=229 And here is an actual users pics of his newly arrived Fusion's seats.... http://www.fordfusionforum.com/index.php?a...post&id=250
  15. I know, wishful thinking. But one can only hope....
  16. The biggest issue with those old SVO's was the turbo lag. There are ways to compensate for that, and Mazda has pretty much figured them out as well as anybody. Even in the last 5 years, turbos have had less lag. If Ford can pull some knowledge from Mazda and get that turbo working right, and the price point isn't insane, this will be a winner. Imagine, bringing in two different camps of buyers - those who always wanted a Mustang, but always drove ricer Civics and MS3's.....
  17. As has mine. I may just skip the new 2010 Fusion for the wife, give her my 08 Fusion, and buy one of those instead. Especially if the redesign is based off of this....
  18. The article says he increased the engine's efficiency to 38%. As much as I hope its true, I'm calling shenanigans. But I really, really hope its not.
  19. Thanks. My kids are both little, but my wife is concerned about having room for them in the back as they (quickly) grow....
  20. Nice ride. I'm looking at picking up one of those for my wife when her lease is up on her Nissan Altima. How is the rear leg room on that, compared to a Fusion?
  21. I just bought an 08 Fusion SE, loaded exactly the way I wanted. Unfortunately, it was the service managers demo, so it had 2,000 miles on it. But I got it for a really good deal. Anyway, after looking through my paperwork, I realize I don't have the window sticker. Is it possible for you guys to attach the PDF of the sticker like you do for the trackings? The VIN is 3FAHP07Z78R224631.
  22. And naturally, as soon as they say it, it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Oil is up almost $4 already today. I wish these guys would go around saying that oil is going to fall to $30 a barrel by next week, since apparently every time they say something it comes true.
  23. I would say that the economy and the price of gas are causing the buzz to be a lot more subdued. I know that upscale and sport vehicles have a different market than normal vehicles, but everyone is reassessing their needs with the current price of gas....
