  1. Sso if you already have an order in the system, does the price increase effect you? In my case, my order is in the system, but I have no vin yet. I have a dora with my price listed. Will the price increase effect my order put into the system in june?
  2. I was under the impression that viperpilot was not working out of the KC plant, so that yes, he will be back on monday. Hopefully, well rested, and relaxed
  3. Thanks for the info. That's interesting. using your time line, that would jive nicely with my 10 week plan to escalate. Not that, that will mean a hill of beans in china, but it's interesting. Mine is just a xlt feh with nav. nothing else. thanks. Rebates? what rebates?
  4. just curious and for reference. If you got your vin on july 18, when did you place your order or do you know what your order receipt date is on your dora. thx
  5. Yup, I know that. Thanks. also part of my reason for waiting until next friday. Next friday should be the end of the shutdown, with them starting up the following monday. But I thought, the scheduling process was done independently from the manufacturing? In other words, I thought the people that do the order scheduling, were not working in the KC plant. maybe I'm wrong?
  6. just looking for some feedback from the rest of you out there? Is what I am thinking about doing below, unreasonable or anything? I'm not out to get anyone in trouble, but yea, as frustrated as the rest of you. I'm going to wait until a week from tomorrow before I bug my dealer again. they supposedly get there updates on Thursdays. Next friday will be just a couple days shy of 10 weeks since I placed my order and still no VIN. If they have nothing for me by then, I will be bumping things up to ??? Where? not sure, but at least start a call to ford itself. I figure by 10 weeks, when they estimated 8 to 12 for delivery, that I should have a VIN by then, no? Is that being unreasonable? Thanks for your input.
  7. I thought all FEH's produced now had to be for a customer order? I also think this stinks of something.
  8. Grin we still have not answered the original topic question. How DO you find out if a dealer has 'allocation'? It's is a question I'm interested in learning the answer to. I've asked my dealer and the response was 'oh thats not an issue in this case". I didn't think about it until the drive home that day that he really did not directly answer my question.
  9. Congrats Gary. I hate you! Just kidding. Enjoy. I'm jealous.
  10. Not sure if I am in the USOB bin or not, but I have no vin yet. I ordered 06/02 and was told 8 to 12 weeks. My dora says the order reciept date is 06/03. At this point, I highly doubt I will have my FEH by 9/3.
  11. Thanks Gary. Ya know. I keep telling myself that nothing is wrong, and want to believe that my dealer is doing everything they can. The whole true faith and trust thing. But, at the same time, the longer this goes on without a VIN, I gotta wonder what the heck. I want to trust the dealer, but I do have reservations. At this point, I think I'm going to give it 2 more weeks. That would put me at a day or 2 shy of 2.5 months. After that, I might go the route of calling ford directly that I see a few others have done. I'm very interested in how those calls turn out and am watching those threads. I did hear this week from the dealer that there is no new news, but that I am #3 out of 9 FEH's they now have orders for. I appreciate your feedback. I was told a week or 2 ago, that allocation was not an issue and that they do have allocation. I didn't think to ask at the time, what # of allocations or anything like that. The VOC and DORA that I have, show me paying MSRP. We have not done any financing work yet.
  12. Ok, I wanna know your secret. grin. You ordered in july and already have your VIN? Dang! What did you do, that I didn't do? Is living / ordering in Cali the magic item? Congrats to you. Just wish I was even in the same ocean as your boat.
  13. You ordered in July and the dealer told you 6 to 8 weeks? Wow. Where (what location) did you order from. Many of us out here have not even gotten a VIN in 2 to 3 months. After you have a vin you are still prob talking about a 1 to 2 month wait. Not wanting to burst your bubble, but if your right, and I hope you are, I wanna order from your dealer. :D
  14. CONGRATS!!! Let us know your first impressions. (as he mutters under his breath, wheres my VIN) :-)
  15. I have always purchased the extra warranty for mine. What I didn't realize until very recently (past months) is that you do not have to make it a part of your purchase. I also didn't realize that you can shop around for the best deal. Hey, learn something new every day! As long as it is the real Ford ESP, then it does not matter where you buy it. And in my case, I will not be buying it as part of my purchase for the new FEH I ordered. I'm happy to wait 6 to 12 months and save that money.
  16. I can tell you that it is definately not FIFO ordering. There is the scheduling issue, parts avail., NY and Cali priorities, etc. The issues have all been discussed here. But I do feel your pain. I'm in there with ya, and feel the pain. But I'm only at the 2 month mark as of the end of this week or so. But Yea, I'm just as .... frustrated (?) with the process. It seems like this should be easier. It also doesn't seem like it would be that hard to make it easier. At least on my end, I don't get the feeling that there is anything wrong from the dealers perspective or end of things. It seems like this is just the way it goes, right or wrong, just the way it is. Please keep us posted on what happens with your call to Ford. I'm very interested.
  17. yup, your right. I should have said Escape / Mariner. Not only the hybrids. And my dealer did tell me the reason for only 25k was batteries.
  18. Does anyone know how many FEH / MMH the factory can / does produce in a day?
  19. I thought I would post this, and get other peoples feedback. Sorry if this ends up being a bit long, but wanted to try to get all my questions etc, in one place. I ordered my 2009 Escape Hybrid on 06-02-08 and was told a estimate of 8 to 12 weeks wait time. I've posted here before how I was a bit frustrated at the lack of information coming from the dealer. The salespersons response was always that she didn't have any info. After 3 weeks, I finally asked and got a confirmation number from her. Prior to that I only had the screen shot of the VOC system page. I found out after the fact through these forums, that, that screen shot did not mean the order was actually placed. I have never thought there was anything going wrong, or that the dealer was doing anything but what they always do for an order. I was just frustrated at the lack of info. So, that being said, I went into the dealership last friday and had a good conversation with both my salesperson, and the person that does the ordering, and have come up with the below questions. I asked what new information there was on the order. The salesperson again said she had nothing, and showed me that all she had was this slip of paper. Turns out that paper was the DORA (Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgement). Great! I'll take a copy of that please. This is one of the items I asked for before and she said she did not have. My dora was processed 7 days after I placed the order. We talked with the person that handles the order system. I asked about the various dates I've seen here for folks trying to track the process of their orders. The receipt date, serialize date, segment date, etc. He said those names mean nothing to him. For the escape hybrid, they have to call (a 3rd party ford person?) the rep and he gives them the status. They can not look up escape hybrids on the normal order system? Ok, why? Why would the hybrid not be listed in the same order system everything else is? He said the next information they will prob. get from this rep, is the build date. Ok, so is there a disconnect between my knowledge gained here on the forums and the actual dealer process? Do the dealers really not know these receipt date / serialize dates (what I call milestones), that other folks here are talking about? Is it possible that the great Ford employees here on the forum have access to more and better info, than the actual dealers do? You ford employees have been awsome to all of us and I thank you, big time. I asked when the dealer would know the VIN for my vehicle. He said they 'might' know that a week or 2 before the actual build date. He said the system (rep?) updates them on thursdays, so if I need an update, best to call on a Friday, and they can get back to me with any updated info. I asked about allocation, and they said there was no issues on getting the hybrids allocated, just a question of how fast can they be built and sent. Also that when you place your order, really has little to do with when the car will actually be built. It is not a case of first in first out. This I knew, but good to hear confirmed. If it matters, I'm in the austin texas area. I asked why ford would only build 25K of these, if they are so popular. They can only get that many battery setups from the vendor. A couple of other questions I've come up with from doing my reading here: what does MK&S mean? It's listed several times in the dates / milestones I have seen here. what does MP&L mean? In the end, I'm satisfied with the info i got from the dealer on my order, but it has lead me to more questions. I appreciate everyone's help and feedback here to help me understand things. Thanks in advance cab
  20. How do you tell by the window sticker, when the car will be built?
  21. see the product brochure thread i posted yesterday. I noticed this am that it definately says rear drum.
  22. did a quick scan through this am and didn't really notice anything earth shattering. I did see that on the specs portion of the book, it says: Power Front disk/rear drum brakes with anti-lock brake system I know there was some debate on that elsewhere here. The pictures sure are purdy now if my vehicle would only be built, but thats another story.
  23. Just a fyi, that I was in my dealership today to get info on my 2009 hybrid order and they had just, this am, gotten the new product brochure for the 2009 Escape. I have not even looked at it yet, but at least it seems that this bit of info is now making it's way to the dealerships. Your dealer may have them now, or soon? I'll look at it later tonight or tomorrow and report anything I find interesting that is not already covered elsewhere.
