Next week we're putting an $1825.00 transmission in a 98 S-Blazer. With a belt, idler arm and labor I'm guessing about $2400-2500.00 on a 13 year old beater.

Exactly. I haven't seen one article that claims the CURRENT Mustang is a worse daily driver that the bloated, craptastic outward vision Camaro. In fact, it's a good bet more Mustangs are daily drivers than the current Camaro. None of our customers use the Camaro as their primary vehicle. In fact one of our UPS drivers traded his for an Avalanche because the Camaro sat in the garage most of the time.

No, you should compare the GM 6.2 to the Ford 6.2. They both are only offered in limited configurations and will probably sell in similar numbers. The EB will be offered in a wider range of configurations. Contrary to the "internet experts" GM doesn't sell gobs and gobs of 6.2 half tons. 90% of the 6.2's at the dealership I work at are in an SUV, Escalades and Yukon Denali's. Face facts folks, the 5.3 is the predominent small block in GM's half tons. I'd like to see how the 5.0 fares against the 5.3, I'm guessing pretty well. PS: if you thought the 5.3/3.42 combo sucked try 3.08 gears! That's how GM gets that 21 mpg highway on the sticker.
