  1. Wouldn't I notice if that happens? I put the car in park, turn the car off and everything in the interior goes off when I open the door.
  2. Over the past couple of months I would get in the car and discover a completely dead battery and would call road side assist for a jump. The first time I thought it was a fluke and ignored it. A week or so later it did it again, again called road side assist, jump started it and went to the dealer. They checked it out and said the battery failed there testing and replaced it. Again all was good for awhile, then another dead battery. Back to the dealer, they kept it for awhile but could not duplicate it. There was no abnormal load, so they charged it up and gave it back. A day later, same thing. This time I mentioned an intermitted problem with the passenger door passive entry system (I mentioned it earlier also) I suggested that they disconnect it for now to see if maybe it might have something to do with it. They kept the car for a week, they actually replaced the handle instead of disconnecting it. ( I wasn't overly concerned with that at this point, but it am glad it's repaired) Just got the car back, only time will tell if the battery dies again. The dealers been very good with me and supplied me with a loaner each time. I understand there frustration trying to diagnose an intermittent problem. Does anyone have any ideas what it possibly could be. There is nothing plugged in the charger. Sorry for the long post.
  3. Thank you sir! No more wondering. I do think I will wait and see if and when it acts up before I have them do it. The car runs flawlessly and I really hate having things ripped apart for no reason. Thanks again
  4. I received the letter from Ford outlining the 14S17 recall for the wiring harness. I was wondering if any one has or knows Fords instructions on repairing this issue? Thanks Lenny
  5. Mine seems to unlock ok, it's the lock feature of it. Maybe dirt is the issue also. Mine seems to think my hand is on it and try's to unlock it when I stand next to it. What are they using to sense a hand on it? Heat from my hand or something else? Lenny
  6. My 2013 rear doors have it. Built in August 2013. I have an issue with the front passenger door that the dealer can't duplicate. (It's intermittent). At times I can't lock the car using the thumb pad on that door, if I open the door and lock it from in side, the doors immediately unlock. If I lock the doors from the driver side they lock, however if I walk by the passenger door, all the doors unlock. It seems like the door handle thinks my hand is on it?? Probably somthing I'll have to live with till it does it all the time.
  7. A recall just came out that sounds like it might address this. Apparently, no parts or repair information till late September Check your vin on fords website to see if you are included. ID: 14S17 Title: ENGINE WIRING SPLICE REPAIR Read the following. http://i.imgur.com/A3i5jfg.png
  8. Has anyone had this done yet? I had mine in yesterday and the ticket said; Perform open recall 14c03 1.3 HRS 1 EJ5Z-5460004-AB Seat Frame I thought this would have taken a lot longer than almost an hour and a ½. I guess it's not as involved as I thought. Does anyone know the procedure? Or how long it took on there vehicle?
  9. Love mine! I would recommend it.
  10. I'm looking for the same thing. Just touch up paint to cover the scratches. If anyone comes up with a matching collar please post the brand and collar code. Thanks
  11. I traded my 08 edge for a loaded 2013 Titanium 2.0 back in Sept 2012. For the most part it has been a solid vehicle. I had a few minor issues that have been corrected by TSBs, mostly MFT and The Nav. I had a squeaky brake issue again corrected by a TSB. No recalls till very recently. (Seat backs weld issue, a reprogram of the airbags and exterior door handle inspection and adjustment, mine has no issues with that) The only other issue that I had was a stall no start after using the car starter, that also was correct by TSB. Love the power, no squeaks or rattles. I'm a large (fat) guy and have no issues fitting in it or getting in or out. Again over all a very solid vehicle

  13. Have someone disconnect your battery for 10 min or so as Akirby suggested.
  14. If it was me, I would try the following: 1- Delete the phone from sync 2- Delete Sync from the phone 3- Pull the sync fuse from the car for about 5 Min. I think the sync fuse is in the Passenger compartment fuse panel located on the right side of the center console. It might be fuse number three? Check your owners manual. 4- add the phone back into sync. Good luck!
  15. Does anyone know if the attatched collection of videos is acurate on how to change the filter? If it is, is the 2.0 the same? http://www.carcarekiosk.com/video/2013_Ford_Escape_SE_1.6L_4_Cyl._Turbo/air_filter_cabin/check
  16. Mine didn't fare so well, it has to be replaced.
  17. Lmao! That's funny! I'm sure that will never happen, but I'll try...
  18. The continental tires on my 2013 Titanium do not like pot holes! Hit a pot hole on the highway and blew a tire. I was kind of surprised the ride and handling wasn't really noticeably different riding on it flat. The low tire pressure warning came on that made me pull over to check it. The real shocker was the $235.00 price tag and I have to wait till Tuesday for them to get it. The incident canceled my Friday night trip to the casino. I guess I could of lost more than the $235.00 on the crap table.......
  19. Refer to page 46 of the owners manual below: http://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/catalog/owner_guides/13204om4e.pdf
  20. I disabled mine by opening the fob, then I put a small piece of paper across the contact for the panic alarm. Now the panic will not go off by accident and there is no damage to the fob.
  21. I washed the key fob for my push button start 2013. I opened it up and let it air dry over night. Works perfect! And now it's nice and clean!! Can't say the same for my iphone that fell in the toylet........
  22. I came across an article that list vehicles that have Applink. It shows the 2014 Escape as having it but not the 2013. I thought they were the same systems in both years? I'm still not sure what Applink offers or what it could do?? Any input would be great! Thanks
  23. What does your paper work show they did? Maybe your just not displaying the quad screen. Did you scroll thru the different screens under trip 1 or 2?
  24. I kind of figured that, I guess they can save a lot of space by just putting in a selector switch. How does the tranny get locked in park?
