I would think it would work on a dedicated line such as STAP...it would also fill a yawning gap in the livery market as a taxi. If Ford could adapt the hybrid system into it for taxi use...Bloomberg would be over the moon for it...

Simplicity of design....no turbo means less complexity and fewer service items....a boon to large service fleets.

You would think that the Mercury fans in the house ( I am one as well) would want that flag to encourage Ford to re-introduce the Cougar.....ahhh, Mercury...the sign of the cat.....

Ford needs to do the same thing with the EcoBoost line....intro the motors without a turbo, but with direct gas injection and use them in the rest of the fleet that EcoBoost isn't in. Reports that the 2.0L four cylinder EcoBoost will put out 240HP is great.....but what would the current 2.5L that is rated at 175HP do if it were given the direct gas injection treatment but no turbo? ...and I agree about the goofy looking smile on the latest Mazda offerings.....yikes!

As I look at the "monochrome" package I am left wondering if Ford plans a trim level below "S" for use in the livery/taxi market with the grille painted argent and the interior covered in a heavy vinyl, possibly a 3" stretch to the rear seating. Just thinking out loud here... :reading:

Not to sound sexist...but Ford is doing well with "spot spokespersons" for differing vehicles in the Ford line up. I remember an ad from a few years back, the girl was in her Fusion, and she paid for the order of the guy in the Mustang behind her in the drive through lane. ...oh and Jill Wagoner needs to stay with the Mercury campaign....just give her some cars to pitch!

I would bet that some owners will be getting their 1/4" socket sets out and unbolt the "C-Clamp" from the grille...I think it would look nice tinted to match the color of the truck.....some will like it...some will not and Ford will most likely offer variations of the grille to appease a wider audience.

My concerns regarding where to put F250.....it should be on the same chassis as the F-150 with even beefier components and capabilities. That would make a perfect platform for the 4.4L diesel as well as an Expedition HD. This would also allow F150 to travel back down market and become a lighter 1/2 ton....ala F100. F100/F150/F250 on an F150 style chassis F350/F450/F550 on the new Super Duty chassis
