would this engine be made available in a non-turbo (naturally aspirated) design? One would think it (the non-turbo version) would be boon to the industrial engine set. Just wondering aloud here as I sip my morning cup of coffee..... :reading:

The old Five Hundred style would have made a perfect police/taxi unit....But I suggest that it be renamed 500...instead of spelling out "Five Hundred".

The choice of power train in Panther has little to do with the overall weight of the vehicle....it needs a complete re-do to get the weight down. Plus, any replacement for Panther needs economy of scale type thinking to keep costs in line....my suggestion of the MKT chassis with a sedan body would bode well with "economy of scale" .....or, the next gen uni-body Explorer could spawn a sedan variant for such use.... :shades:

I still say a unique sedan body on an MKT version of D3 would be the ticket for a police/livery/taxi service vehicle.

Doesn't Dagenham build the I5 Volvo 3.2L engine? This engine would be a natural fit in the EcoBoost line...any ideas if Ford is contemplating that move? That motor would be interesting in a rear drive Falcon chassis.....

I notice that Hyundai and Kia sales are combined and together they posted a whopping 63.2% gain...were Kias' numbers rolled into Hyundais' numbers last year as well? They used to be reported separately, but are now combined....would that explain the percentage increase of that size? I am sure both companies have had increases....but 63%?? That is huge!

Everyone that is "in the business" knows that this lifetime warranty was pure BS...more loopholes than an IRS agent has tax books. It was in answer to the Koreans 10 year / 100,000 mile warranty, the big difference is that while the Koreans had a defined term that was impressive ...a lifetime term turns out to be not as impressive since there are no defined terms.

...and coming out with the Regal nameplate is about as stupid as Ford's idea of originally wanting to name Fusion as Futura (or worse...Torino, I am an admitted Torino fan) Just call it Buick Insignia for god sakes!
