  1. question here is...isn't this feature for PARALLEL parking??
  2. I agree that it is an item that ranks up there in the "oddball features" range since I learned to parallel park when I learned to drive a car. But, for the dolts that did not bother to learn yet have gobs of money.....sell on Ford Motor.....
  3. My father had a 1975 F-250 4X4 "Hi Boy" in Ginger Glow metallic that had the Ranger trim package. That was one fun truck....360 FE V8, C6 trans, NP203 full time 4WD transfer case....that thing passed everything on the road except a gas station...just like his matching Ginger Glow 1974 LTD Brougham 2DSD with a 460ci big block. Good thing my uncle owned a Gulf station at the time....
  4. Wow....the only "Ford" on that list is #16 as the now defunct Mark LT. Interesting.
  5. A cable actuated, column shift shouldn't be to hard to design.....whats next? Push button gear selectors in the steering wheel?? ....uh....never mind. That would go over almost as good as a coil spring rear suspension in a pickup truck....uh..... scrap that idea too
  6. The dealership agreements may be what will save Saturn afterall. If those agreements give GM more flexibility than the agreements with the other divisions, it may well pave the way for a re-structuring of the dealer network to dump brands.
  7. The hybrid Fusion will be the "halo car" the entire lineup needs, it will be the shining example of engineering prowess from Ford, but at only a 25K annual production rate...they will be harder than hens teeth to find....but, the lots will hopefully be filled with EcoBoost'ed Fusions, Taurus', Flexs, etc etc that will get better mileage than their standard engine counterparts and the sales people will direct the throngs to these cars as a lower cost alternative that gets damn good mileage at a lower "tip in" cost. And the beauty is, they won't be lying about any of it. Me?? I will wait for the Fusion Hybrid. Already called my local Ford dealer and told them to call me when it arrives. But....I really want to test drive an EcoBoost as well.
  8. I have owned many many Fords....all used, but the first new Ford I bought was the same day Roadrunner bought his, 2006 Ford Fusion SE, 7/13/2006.
  9. Uh....ole P71 has been banished for well.....being very "P71 like"
  10. Yup...that's what I did with my parents purchase of their Mazda5......provided investor relations with proof of stock ownership and they sent an X-Plan PIN right out.
  11. http://www.ford.com/about-ford/investor-re...rvices-contacts Call investor relations.....(800) 279-1237. That's what I did, good luck.
  12. The thought of a station wagon is not high on Fords' priority list now.....anything "station wagon-ish" seems to get the cold shoulder in the market place, but jack it up 2-3 inches more off the curb and call it a CUV....bingo. Right now, Ford is on a good track with sedans and CUVs. Most people that are going for a sedan don't want a CUV and most people that are looking at CUVs, would never consider a station wagon. Magnum and Freestyle/Taurus X are the most recent casualties if this market conundrum. Both decent vehicles done in by the "station wagon curse"...
  13. Gotta go with Jelly here.....the real reason ECOnetic is not brought here is the "evil diesel" curse...despite mlhm5's constant bleating about bringing more diesels to the US....most consumers will not buy one. I will admit though, I would look at one if it were available in the US, but then again, I am not "joe consumer"....I am a dyed in the wool Ford Blue Oval fan.
  14. Me thinks it was melded in during the time of the great "what direction will the next Taurus take" when news of Global Rear Wheel Drive platform was discussed. Taurus should remain front drive with all wheel drive options....any rear drive development should take place for....<shudder> sorry to bring up her name....<speaking in a low whisper>Panther
  15. My ex is a teacher and the horror stories she had about kids showing up with $150 sneakers, $200 jackets, $50 baseball caps, iPods, cellphones, etc...yet didn't have a .02 cent pencil, or some paper is indicative of our society. Kids calling her names that would make a death row inmate blush. weapons in school, teen pregnancy rates off the charts, police patrols in the school halls....and you want to deride her for making a decent wage? And....she had to have a degree to boot?? Why don't you sign up there.....
  16. correct me if I am wrong...but in picture #4...it looks like the front wheels are spinning.....thought it was going RWD?? Or could this be an AWD mule??
  17. What did he say?? He said the Sheriff was near.......
  18. Don't you mean.... "I don't see Hydrogen as the miracle fuel, given our current inability to economically keep it in a liquid state."
  19. I believe that Chevrolet Citation wears that crown
  20. It doesn't work here, what makes you think it will work there? But they seem to forget the crappy cars that Honda, Toyota, and the rest of "Japan Inc." put out in the same time period...
  21. I had an interesting conversation with my 13 year old daughter about hybrids and protecting the environment last night while driving home.....she wants me to get a hybrid since it will "save the environment"...I told her that I was thinking about one for better fuel economy. She then states, "You better not get a Prius...they're small and they look stupid!", after I got done laughing, I told her that Ford has a hybrid Fusion that will look very similar to what I have right now next year ( I have an '06 Fusion SE V6....love it, BTW) She says, and I am quoting, "Coooooool, its about time someone started building a cool looking hybrid!" Then she wanted to know if Lamborghini makes a hybrid....I sighed....some kids are never satisfied
