  1. Seriously, did you say, "compromise"? Have you not seen that Video a dozen times already showing the Senate Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell stating in fact that the Republican Party had but one agenda, and that was to assure that Barack Obama would be a one term President. Do you recall when he uttered those words and made that statement? Obama was at that very moment being sworn into Office for his (first) Term. You going to find "compromise" there? One hell of an Olive Branch to extend to someone before they took their hand off the Bible (Koran) whatever....Got to give McConnell credit, he kept his word, "Mission Accomplished". Where have I heard that used before....?
  2. akirby; That is true but many Ford Dealers as far back as 2011 (claimed) that the Daytime Running Lights could not be enabled where another Dealer, just days later, using the same IDS Programmer was able to activate with a couple of Mouse clicks. Some Techs are better at finding how to enable obscure requests then others.
  3. Gary, Thanks for the Tip on the Window Tint. I use Tint King on Route 1 in Lake Park because I prefer "3M Films". If you want you (factory) DRL`s enabled, they will do it for you on Northlake Blvd. Had my 2013 C-Max SE Hybrid done there. Took less then a half hour. Was $100 charge. Just like a Jeweler, your paying for the knowledge, not the actual labor.
  4. Wrong, all U.S. Ford`s including 2013 & 2014 can have the DRL`s activated through the Vehicles Smart Junction Box using the IDS Programmer. Several (extra) steps and re-programming are now required so many Technicians don`t know the procedure and even when a Dealer requests Ford Tech Support for advice they are told it is a "non-programmable" feature for U.S. Vehicles that were not originally Ordered for Fleet Sale or shipment to Canada. False on both!
  5. Really? Seems like the Citizens of Sweden,Holland, Norway, Finland etc might take exception to that belief. Their income disparity is low compared to ours, for the most part they are Happy and Healthy. A benign socialist structured government much like Canada`s takes care of everyone from the cradle to the grave. Drugs and Sex are plentiful while Guns and Violence is not. Time to let Joe McCarthy R.I.P.! Several things missing in their Societies are apparent though. Religious fervor and lack of Gun worship. Dumbing down a Nations populous has its consequences. Both Conservatives and Progressives (usually) can agree on that point, right?
  6. On Route 1 in the Florida Keys during the daytime, it has nothing whatsoever to do with darkness, fog, or smoke, simply the glare of the Sun and the narrowness of a two lane Highway.
  7. I guess your correct when you stated that DRL`s are becoming a bit more common. Actually, other then Ford and Mazda as well as some Chrysler Vehicles that make DRL`s an Option, (all) Vehicles in the U.S. basically now have them on most of their Models. Even Nissan and Infinity have finally added them to some of their Vehicles after years participating in the DRL hold out. Our neighbors to the North in Canada have had them for decades as they are required by Law there as well as most of Western Europe. If you and your Wife ever drive down to Key West, FL on Route 1, a narrow dangerous road you will see signage along the roadway stating, "Lights On For Safety". Of course, thats probably the only situation in America where that would apply and since your not planning on driving there, I see your point. Update: Mazda, one of the last Daytime Running Light (DRL) Auto Manufacturer holdouts has added them to many of their upcoming 2015 line of Vehicles sold in the U.S. too. Other then Ford, who remains (dark)?
  8. Unless you purchase your Gas from a Marina, in most parts of the Country, "non-ethenol" Gasoline is near impossible to locate.
  9. What did we all do living in Northern Climes when (all) Vehicles came with RWD? Up until several years ago with the Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor was killed off, it too was RWD! Stop Texting, Talking, Tweeting, Uploading, Downloading, and simply start driving in the conditions present, period! MFT and SYNC can`t do that for you!
  10. Thanks for the clarification. You were able to break down the obvious answers significantly better obviously then either ~ice-capades~ or `akirby`. Much appreciation!
  11. akirby; I can`t seem to avoid your contrarian ire no matter where I interject a comment. Despite that we can obviously agree that we both inhale oxogen to breath while exhaling carbon dioxide which is obviously good for the Planet and has nothing to do whatsoever with Green house Gases and the mythical hoax of Global Warming, even in (non) Off Topic areas such as this, you need to prove that your "RIGHT" which believe me, I have no doubt. I have ordered my last 2 Vehicles from my Ford Dealer. Like I previously Posted: my Salesman always orders (2) Identical Vehicles for me. One for Dealer Stock and the other Retail Order. I Have always taken the Vehicle that showed up first. Once it happened to be a Dealer Stock that arrived first which I purchased and the other, the Retail Special Order arrived first and I purchased that one. No issues, (zero) with either one. Lucky, maybe? I get it that the first (non) Pre-Production Run Vehicles are kept at the factory or parked elsewhere and held before being released just in case of safety or defect problems before shipping. The only point which I obviously failed to make with (you) at least, if that when both Dealer Stock as well as Special Retail Orders are finally released and shipped, "BOTH" usually end up in the same Retail Buyers hands, not Fleet or Commercial buyers. Simple? Probably not. Perhaps its time to use your "authority" and give me a 2 week breather form this Forum as you threatened to do in the "Off Topic Forum" because I couldn`t find common ground with the 90% of its Conservative Warfare Queens that never served nor wore the Uniform. Cheers!
  12. If the Vehicles are held temporarily for a while to assure that 5 consecutive days of building goes ok, fine. But the logic of why "Stock" Orders are released typically before Retail Special Orders still alludes me if Quality Control for retail buyers is the concern. The first Dealer Stock arrivals will ultimately end up in Retail Buyers hands anyway. I`m not anxious, I`ll put my 2015 Mustang Convertible order in eventually when the Unscheduled Order Bank allows legitimate placement of an Order and it will arrive when it arrives.
  13. I`m trying to understand your logic but.....are not the early production Vehicle`s that are first shipped to the Dealerships ultimately going to be sold from "quote" Dealer Stock Inventory eventually to a Retail Buyer? It might make sense if all the early production Cars that arrive are strictly held and reserved for Fleet or Commercial Sale but if these early arrivals end up in the same Retail Buyers hands, whats the point? I guess the speculation is that a better quality Build is projected a month or two after initial Production commences. Maybe both previous launches of their Escape and the Do Not Sell / Stop & Hold Orders has made Ford a bit more cautious.
  14. The Ford Dealership I have special ordered my last 2 Vehicles from has always ordered (2) identical Cars at the same time. One as Dealer Stock and the other, Retail Order (X-Plan). Which ever one arrives first is mine, simple!
  15. I agree with you, obsessing over MPG for some is a "fetish" but sometimes a legitimate gripe. I had a 2011 Ford Fiesta SE hatchback with the 1.6 ltr. I4 and 6 speed A/T and it got constant 33-35 MPG City and 41-43 MPG Highway from day one until I traded it in 3 years later for my Ford C-Max Hybrid. Another Vehicle I own, a 2012 Kia Rio5 hatchback, similar in size, weight, 1.6 ltr. I4 engine with 6 speed A/T gets 20-23 MPG City and 30-32 MPG Highway. Similar Cars, polar opposites in Fuel Economy! Had I known that before purchase, I would have opted for the Full Size Optima and got the same or (better) fuel economy. I call that simple "deception", period!
  16. Fleet Orders to Car Rental Companies go to the head of the line. Sure they have small profit margins but Ford wants them sent to popular Vacation destinations to get them exposure on the street ASAP. Just like when they launched the (then) new 94` Mustang, Retail Orders to New England arrived in Feb despite being Ordered in Aug. First Vehicle shipped to Hertz in SO FL and Southern California. Especially so with Convertibles!
  17. Charlie and Dave Koch, "Americans For Prosperity" couldn`t have stated your position better! CAFE? What me worry?
  18. Assuming that the 2015 has a slightly modified Intake Manifold, retains the Duel Exhausts, I believe the so called (de-tuned) loss of 5 HP was a "paper entry" to make the EB 2,3 I4 look better HP wise. Lowering the rear axle ration by increase the number from last years 2.73 to the 2015`s 3.15 will add better off the line performance and little MPG (if any) loss. Win-Win, IMO
  19. In principle, I agree. I purchased a 2013 Ford C-Max SE Hybrid essentially as a daily driver that had the practicality of a 2WD Ford Escape that delivered, and still does 50% better Fuel Economy. My plans to purchase a 2015 Ford Mustang Base V6 Convertible to join my C-Max in my driveway as my other daily driver too. I`m looking for a fun spirited sporty Convertible that delivers (reasonable) Fuel Economy, nothing more, nothing less. Don`t care if it breaks 14 or other nonsense. If I did, I`d go for the GT.
  20. I think Ford is just being very cautious with its Fuel Economy predictions with the 2015 Mustang. After CR and other Media had a Field Day bashing the C-May with its 47 MPG average numbers, they don`t want to have egg on their face again. Two checks for C-Max buyers, one for $550. and a second for $475. was enough, thank you! Who knows, maybe they will surprise everyone and actually exceed the EPA numbers. It has happened before! The 2011 Fiesta ended up beating the Fuel Economy estimates with (both) City and Highway MPG.
  21. Somewhere Posted on Mustang6G recently, 2015 Mustang "Convertible" JOB2 production was to begin on 9/16/2014. Odd, if it true since my Dealership tells me that they still can`t place a (Clean) Order yet in the Unscheduled Order Bank. Probably still late Oct at the earliest for the Convertible builds.
  22. Very trustworthy source, huh? The Ultra-Right leaning "Heritage Foundation"? How about using a Chart provided by Karl Rove`s "American Crossroads" or one from "Americans For Prosperity" funded by the Billionaire Koch Brother? From Gods mouth to (your) Ears!
  23. Conservatives never get mis-information nor are ever manipulated by Fox News, Rush, Glenn, Mike, Neil, Laura, Ann, Shawn, etc, right?
