  1. I ordered mine in September and it came at the end of November. I believe the estimate was 8-10 weeks and that was accurate. It was my first car order and would definitely do it again. The dealer didn't provide a lot of updates on the status but the incredibly awesome dudes on this forum that provide tracking info out of the kindness of their hearts were very helpful.
  2. It's been a while since I've priced everything out (bought my '11 6 months ago) but from what I remember I didn't pursue the X-plan very hard because I thought I could get as good of a deal, or better, on my own. I did use truecar and from what I understand, if you get a price through them, that dealer is obligated to honor that price on any car (of that model) they have on the lot. By that I mean if their quote is essentially $500 under invoice for a Fusion then they should sell you any Fusion on the lot for $500 under invoice. But what I did was got the official truecar price quote, which was for a dealer 80 miles away, and took that to the local dealer that I really liked and asked them to match the price, which they did.
  3. Gotcha. Like I said, wish my Fusion had it, it sounds badass (never had the opportunity to try it). But I do know people who have trouble operating elegantly simple electronic devices... the mere presence of an LCD screen being intimidating. I don't think there's a point to holding back on technology for these types though, good for Ford for being on the cutting edge. InsideLine also had some criticisms of MFT but said it was less distracting that other systems like BMW's iDrive (not too shocking).
  4. Not sure why people get so defensive unless they have a personal grudge against CR. They tested the product, gave their opinion (which doesn't have to agree with yours). Published criticisms like this make for better products in the long run. What's the problem? Wish MFT would have made it into my 2011 Fusion.
  5. Thank you so much for your help in tracking my order! Picked the Fusion Sport up on Monday. Here is the picture
  6. 3FAHP0KC3BR197132 An update would be great if you get a chance. Thank you Mr. CYBERDEMON!!
  7. Oh man you've made me a very happy guy, cyberdman! My dealer hasn't given me much info and I didn't even think my car was going to be built until towards the end of this month. Woo hoo! Thank you for your generosity in doing this for all of us.
  8. 2011 Fusion Sport, haven't got the VIN. Dealer: F74500 Order No: R094 Thank you very much!
  9. What a sweet ride man. Congratulations! The wait for my Fusion is really starting to kill me.
  10. Ah, thank you, not really sure how my search function didn't pick that up. Anyways, I find it interesting that the rear brake problem is really wide spread enough to ding the Accord that badly. Conversely, if you browse all the different Ford Fusion related forums you would get the impression that there is some horribly massive transmission problem but apparently it is not widespread enough for CR to pick up on it. I know problems get compounded on internet forums but I'm just comparing the Accord issue and Fusion issue.
  11. grbec, I'm wondering where you are seeing the Accord's rear brake problem being specifically addressed? I read your comment about it and haven't been able to find any specific mention of the Accord's rear brakes by CR. This is one (fairly small) issue that swayed me away from the Honda when shopping for a midsize.
  12. You know you aren't the only person who thinks they are a better driver than everybody else, don't you? Everybody thinks they are a better driver than most everybody around them. Your attitude about your own skills actually makes you an even more dangerous driver because, by your own admittance, you are doing things like texting and it's perfectly OK for you. But you don't think other drivers have your amazing skills to be doing the same thing. No matter how good you think you are, nobody is perfect and we all have our moments. You might be perfectly capable of texting while driving... most of the time. The problem is when something you aren't expecting happens. A tire blowout when you don't have your hands on the wheel. Or a driver moves in to your blindspot while you just happen to be distracted, then you pull an evasive maneuver and run them off the road. When that moment happens, hopefully the only person affected by your actions is you. Imagine how you would feel if you kill somebody because you simply had to txt your friend that you just saw the Oscar Mayer weiner mobile on the freeway. You can keep your guarantee for yourself, I'll guarantee that you would regret it for the rest of your life.
  13. Jamming phones, locking out devices, whatever, all this kind of stuff is just so logistically complicated with so many exceptions that it's clearly not possible. But it is a problem that has been around as long as people have been driving... eating taco bell while cruising at 75mph, reading a book, shaving, makeup, etc etc etc, but it's a problem that only gets worse with more people on the road and our ever increasing dependence/addiction to technology. Maybe a more realistic solution is to make the penalties so absolutely severe that people will have no choice but to put down the distractions; distractions not being limited to cell phones but to anything determined so by law enforcement and/or the judicial system. I hate seeing people text while driving, I absolutely hate it, or driving like a drunk just because they are on the phone, but I don't know how I feel about the government having that kind of control.
  14. I just ordered a 2011 Fusion Sport from a small local dealer that offered the Select Dealer Incentive Protection program. They said we would get incentives at the time of order or at the time of delivery, whichever is better for us.
  15. I thought about the same thing in case I get a 2010. Hard to believe they omitted homelink from a car this feature-packed. I couldn't find parts for the 2011 listed yet, but checked out parts for the MKZ, which has a homelink in the sun visor; it is over $400 list price for the left sun visor! I think I can juggle garage door openers for that kind of money.
  16. Thank you, exactly what I wanted to know.
  17. Is the FDAF fee included on vehicles ordered from the factory? It's looking more likely that I'm going to order a 2011 Fusion and was just curious about this. Just logically it seems like a vehicle that is ordered from the factory does not need to be advertised for therefore should not get charged this fee, but I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't the case. Thanks.
  18. Ford's website now has the 2011 info. You can see all the color options now (only 5 available on the sport).
  19. The 2011 Sport can be had in White Platinum. 2011 Sport can also be had in Blue Flame, Red Candy, Tuxedo Black, and Ingot Silver. Absolutely horrible color options on the Sport, IMHO. Blue Flame? This is a 30k sedan not a teenager's Focus. How about Kona Blue?
  20. Job #1 production still on target for the 26th? Ready to pull the trigger on a Sport as soon as the right deal comes along and a bit disappointed that July rebates on 2010's stayed the same considering 2011's will be here soon. May be worth waiting for a 2011.
