  1. Boeing may be my next pick. Have they bled out? Even Microsoft could be a buy. If Ford hits 5.50 I'll probably pick up 100. I may be stuck WFH since somebody got Corona virus near my office. If this happens, I may just start day trading.
  2. F*ck that looks good! Jeep will be in trouble if this thing has 90% of the off road prowess but you can actually drive it over 70 and not feel like you are playing Russian rouIette. Honestly like the looks of the 2 door better even though it would make 0 sense to get one.
  3. We’ll have to wait and see. The Explorer hybrid can go into a 18 inches of water.
  4. I don't care about the weight if performance is equal and there is a somewhat of a gain in FE, especially city since I spend time in traffic. I won't be rock crawling or anything. Mountain bikes and potentially a trailer towed going to camp sites and trails.
  5. Honestly, I think it will be a no brainer for me if it does. As long as there aren't too many performance sacrifices and the price doesn't sky rocket too much.
  6. Anyone know what pricing will be on these? So far, just hanging out with friends last night two have expressed interest in the Sport. One that has a 2011 Escape that in the next 1-2 years is looking for a replacement. The other a Suburu owner that is also looking to get a replacement in 1-2 years (if it holds up that long). Both are working professionals, one that has Weimaraner that he crates around with him and the other a mountain biker. Both thought the new Escape was not their cup of tea. Looking forward to the roll out of more information.
  7. This isn't my type of ride but why do I want one? 2.7 and stick shift. Take my money please!
  8. Wait, you mean you've never had multiple bags of groceries in one hand and a screaming 4 year old who decided to throw a tantrum in the grocery store parking lot draped over your shoulder when your keys are buried in your jeans pocket. I must be the only one. It's these little conveniences that can make a bad situation from turning into a terrible one.
  9. I've never had that happen either. Every recall that I've had done at my dealership has been relatively easy. Drop off car and into a loaner. Pick it up and drop off loaner. Now, I am one who obsesses about maintenance and tend to keep up on that. Was this a safety concern that they wouldn't give it back? In some instances, some shops will make you sign a waiver saying they told you about the safety concern and you chose not to do it.
  10. Agree. I think the two pronged approach is a good move. There are people that want the ho hum nondescript CUV that can have AWD. This is contrast to people wanting that feeling that they can go off road (ok dirt road) and potentially option it out to have a little off road chops. Not sure what took Ford so long for this strategy. I have a buddy that has an 2011 Escape. He loves it but it's starting to get the miles on it. Nearly trouble free. He's kept long enough to put 130k on it but hated the Escape since 2013. I sent him the autoblog post and he said he liked it. This could be his new vehicle.
  11. Just ignore it. If you don't have time to really pay attention during the day, just ignore it. A guy I really trust pulled everything out of the market (rich guy that I work with). It's sitting in cash accounts and gold. That's it. I don't have the time to babysit such a thing but people do it and make money on it.
  12. Just picked up another 60 shares at 5.96. OPEC and Russia are joining the Corona virus to take this economy down. Brent Crude is in the 30's. Unreal
  13. I have no problem doing a story on this, none whatsoever. However, what i do find annoying that the level of sensationalism. Phoebe's story read like a dateline investigation. You would of thought it was a "To catch a predator" transcript. Also, it was plastered on The Freep as a headline for at least 3 months. Any update would be plastered all over their website. It's like they had an ax to grind and kept trying to poke the bear. Meanwhile, other stories that were put up and then gone. Let's not pretend that Nissan still has just as bad of an issue with their CVT transmissions and many many lawsuits. This doesn't just happen to Ford. The taken advantage part is a bit much. I don't condone Ford putting that transmission in there. In fact, I was complaining that it was dumb. Now here is where I put the fault on the consumer. Don't be dumb. Some of those stories that Phoebe highlighted were people doing 0 research on a big purchase. I mean this had been an issue for a long time. They were one google search away from seeing all the complaints and problems. Yet, they didn't. I'll give the first adopters the benefit of doubt. I had been telling people since 2014 not to buy an automatic Focus. There was a ton of articles and complaints by then.
  14. If it weren't for Ford, Phoebe Howard Wall wouldn't have anything to write about. I am pretty sure she has milked this story for what it's worth and then some. I am sure it will be plastered on their auto site for the next 3 months.
  15. My son better get used to Ramen! And not the good kind, the 10 cent a pack kind.
  16. What year is your car? IOS version of your iphone?
  17. True with zero context or any sort of documentation on where those numbers came from (or were made up from).
  18. Can we get an additional folder (sub forum) for anything Tesla related? Any time Tesla is written it should automatically go into a sub forum. I'd like not to be inundated with the RPerez and mlhm5 Tesla/Musk hob knob athon. mlhm5 has been angry at Ford forever and he's just trolling any way he can. It's just getting old. I am all for disagreeing views that can be discussed civilly but it's like groundhogs day here. Tesla is great followed by some speculative article with a lot of BS. All other automakers are behind followed by another speculative article. Trolling commences. Rinse repeat.
  19. I had a 2017 MKZ 3.0 CPO. It had a ton of problems. It was a Ford car of some sort (press fleet, management pool, tester?) I think it had every option that you could get on the drivers package. It had low miles when I bought it. After a few months it was clear that it was a rough and beaten start to this car so I ditched it at a slight loss and got a Fusion. My life was slightly more chaotic then and I didn't have the time to keep taking it back to the dealer. Looking back I miss the power and electronic gadgets. Although, I will say the 3.0 is almost too much for that platform. That brings me to this. I love cars. Always have. The tend to ride and handle better. However, as I've driven my Fusion for almost 3 years now the lack of utility has started to get exposed. There is nothing wrong with it when you look at it by itself. It's when you look at the price and realize for slightly more I could have more room, utility, virtually the same gas mileage, just as nice ride, and some even half just as good handling in a CUV. I don't like that I've come that conclusion. However, I think that is why sedans are dying as the masses tend to think this way. Performance sedans/coupes will always have their place. For the majority of the people though, SUV/CUV offer too many pluses compared to sedans to offset the additional costs. It pains me to say though. The sedan market will continue to tank. Nissan is learning the race towards the sales volume in low margin cars can put you on the verge of bankruptcy. Impala is gone. I have a feeling their will be more to die in the next few years. Their still is a market it for them for now, but for how long?
