  1. I agree with you, and I am also NOT chuck

  2. Quick question, not supporting the thread by commenting but just wondering how does a labor case from Alberta, Canada apply to the US?
  3. I think there are two "i"s in Chuckii. LOL. And Chuckie could NEVER come up with something that sophisticated or coherent. If it involves more than selling sunglasses, copying and pasting Gary Walkowicz's letters, or rephrasing those same letters, you can count chuckles OUT
  4. LOL. Yeah, he is sometimes humorous. I'll give him that. The thing I want to point out is that I think I basically AGREE with you, so I don't want to let you think I am Chuck and make you hate me. I want to help you with your points when we agree, and engage in respectful dialogue when we don't. Just my 2 cents and a dancing Chili pepper whaaaaaat? :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  5. I don't get this at all. Aren't we the one's bitching all the time about 2-tier? I don't have a lot of seniority, so people call me naive. Go ahead. The way I see this contract is that we sacrificed wage increase and COLA, and gained in profit share (for the majority of us that work straight time and not a lot of OT) so we could raise up the 2nd Tier and ACH people. Not only that, we can put some more people in America back to work. We can look around and see people are suffering with NO job NO benefits NO security and say, here, let me help you out. We don't have to be happy that we got no wage increase. Fuck, I'm not. I would sure as hell like to be up to 30-32/hr by the end of this contract. And the retiree thing, well that sucks. It just does. But from what I understand, the UAW is legally prohibited from negotiating for retirees. So what can we do about it, except bitch about it and find ways to support our retirees on a local level? I mean, if we are really passionate about that, we need to set up some stuff that helps them. We can donate meals or clothes or whatever. Every little bit helps somebody on a fixed income. My father retired from Ford so I know. But, to me, in the end, the vibrant debate around this contract shows one thing. We are strong. We have a voice. And we need to express it. We need to get involved in our local meetings. Because guess what? A lot of people bitch about the international people not getting elected...they get pulled up from our locals!!! If we don't elect dumbasses to the locals in the first place, they won't get pulled up to the international. That's just my 2 cents. I think we need to get more involved in our union meetings and not just involved in pissing and moaning on BON. I know I plan on doing that, and I hope the rest of you do too.
  6. $10/hour with no benefits. The last thing Ford Motor Company offered the workers was 5 dollars a day.
  7. LOL just because i thought it was funny about the stall thing, doesn't mean I am chucky, dude. Why whould I post "chucky greatest hits" making fun of chucky as my signature? I mean, we've all seen chucky. He has an incoherent rant that spells a shitload of words wrong and utilizes suspect grammar. That is not me. I mean, for fuck's sake, I called chucky OUT for posting his email on one of the threads where he was asking for companies to donate to the strike fund!!! If you think chucky is that smart, brother, you are giving chucky wayyyyyyyyy to much credit. Chucky is a dumbass.
  8. You called ME chucky on a thread once before, and I think that you will understand with this post that I am definitely not the Charles in question. I think Walkowicz has his principles, but they seem to change according to what the current times are. I mean, in one of our contracts in the 90's we got 3% raises every year, and he WAS AGAINST THAT!!! I mean...cmon. I don't think this contract was the greatest, but for the times it was acceptable. Merely that. He was against the 2nd mods in 09, which I agree with. But, honestly, I think he is more concerned about building up a base of political support than he is building our union. In my opinion, he is just like a lot of posters on Blue Oval, myself included. People who are out of the loop, who think they always know better than the people who are IN the loop. Everything is possible when I'm not at the negotiating table talking to Alan Mulally getting his response to "our membership wants COLA." But, some people apparently really like him. So, it's kind of like with this vote. Do what you think is right.
  9. Does anyone remember what turnout usually is for contract votes? I'm just curious to see if this is high, low, or on par.
  10. Take away point for me: I am saving up my profit sharing checks over the next 4 years to buy a gatling gun. Next contract, I'll be PREPARED to strike!!! :happy feet:
  11. LOL! I don't agree with Gary, but gotta admit that was funny. :hysterical2:
  12. I did find it, and I apologize. Previously I was looking at their official photos that the IUAW put up, and not photos posted by other people on their wall. I think they should take it down, because it's bad form. However, it should be noted that the IUAW did not post the pic, it was some random guy that posted it to their wall. So, I'm not sure how much control they have over what other people post onto their wall. I will. however. go on record here as saying I WAS WRONG, SJOHNSON GOT ONE ON ME! HE HAD THE GOODS, AND I DID NOT!
  13. WOW. Will you stop at nothing? Even if it wouldn't let you post the picture on this page, it WOULD let you post a LINK to the photo. However, you provide neither. I looked at the IUAW and Ford Department Facebook and saw nothing like you have mentioned. You are a liar, as you have proved many times. For anyone who would like to check the photos of the IUAW or UAW Ford Department Facebook to confirm, here are the links: http://www.facebook.com/uaw.union That's the International http://www.facebook.com/uawforddept That's the Ford Department I wish you would really quit your bullshit. Not only is it desperate and stupid. It's counterproductive to your cause, when it's so easy to prove you wrong.
  14. Amen! I have my opinion, and other people have theirs, and I respect that. Go vote your informed decision. But I don't respect people who spread lies and half truths.
  15. Maybe not anymore!! the "haves" at DTP certainly helped out the "have nots"
  16. Thanks! So here's one more number I want to speculate on: Over/Under on how long it takes Chuck to get on here with a screen name of someone "from DTP" talking about how there were hired goons at an imaginary voting trailer and the fix is in so we should file charges with the NLRB and call the local news. I'm going out on a limb with 27.5 minutes
  17. 1220 Yes 981 No?? Any truth to that? EDITED TO REFLECT THE LATEST RUMORED NUMBERS :happy feet:
  18. huh? last numbers were 56-44 percent in favor...
  19. I've posted on here when I was drunk before, but wow...just wow. You need to type your posts up in Microsoft Word and run grammar and spell check about 3 times before you post on here. If you are representative of no voters.......smh
  20. Actually yeah, I went to my local and asked to see them, just like Spring on here suggested. I assume they weren't on the web because they are "unpublished" i.e. not published on the web or anywhere else. EDIT: They were in a thin, red book. Just to show that I ACTUALLY did get to see them.
  21. Shit I haven't seen? I read the contract online. That's my RIGHT as a dues paying UAW member. There's still a way to go, but they are being more transparent than ever. When has EVERY member been able to read the contract online at their own convenience? If anybody DIDN'T do that, DIDN'T scrutinize it, then they have NO RIGHT to complain about it. And if they do, I'll tell them it was available and they should have.
  22. LMAO LMAO :hysterical2: :hysterical3:
  23. I think this is pretty cool, and made me kind of sentimental. I know all of us don't agree with this contract, but I think we can all agree that this guy is a great UAW BROTHER! Hope he doesn't mind me sharing this here. ---------------------------------- I've been a UAW member for going on 30 years, first at GM and now at Ford in Kansas City. I just want to say I've never been prouder of our union than I am right now. It would have been easy for us to have focused solely on our pocketbooks. Instead, an increasing number of our members are voting to create jobs. In a country were millions are out of work and where the corporations and the government have done nothing, the UAW is stepping forward. When all the jobs that will be created by the Ford, GM and Chrysler contracts are added up, they should equal about 180,000. Many people have an image of UAW members as self-centered and greedy. After we pass this contract, they”ll never be able to say that again. Our members will have resisted the impulse to think only about wages so that we could put America back to work. We can and should be proud of that. Next time someone says union members think only of themselves, remind them of what we did to rebuild America's middle class. --Pat Hayes
  24. nobody has raised an issue about that except for chuckie under one of his 1000000000000 different screen names. he's a tool, and tries to make it seem like there is more of an issue with it than there is. it's completely legal under the laws and bylaws unless specifically prohibited by your local bylaws (which, in some cases it is). since i mentioned chuckie, btw, expect this post to get voted down by at least 2. depends on how many different names he signs on with tonight. in my opinion, they are just trying to make sure everybody gets a chance to vote by having it in the plant at some places. not everyone wants to come in early to go to the local or drive over after their shift is done. i think the local is a few miles away at the local in kentucky for one of the plants. if the voting is in my plant, it's easy to just walk over to where it's being held on my way out.
