  1. Did you call the national program center and ask for an explanation? There must be someone there to answer your concern and has responsibility for the apprentices.
  2. Why not contact the UAW-Ford National Program Center that handles the Apprenticeship Program.
  3. Ford to add 200 apprentices Ford has run an apprentice program with the UAW since 1941. Stacey Allerton, director of Ford’s U.S. labor affairs, said the Dearborn-based automaker plans to continue the program, as its assembly plants have become more technical with automation and robots. Most apprentices are studying to be electricians who would work with sophisticated equipment. Some get advanced training related to programming equipment. Ford plans to add 200 or so apprentices by the end of the year, Allerton said. http://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/2015/05/18/uaw-seeks-grow-skilled-trades-apprentice-programs/27566301/ Seems they plan on putting over 200 apprentices on by the end of 2015. Hope this helps
  4. Hopefully the potential MAP investment that will be negotiated does not come at the expense of plant producing a current product.
  5. #1 Is Job Security- These 2011 UAW negotiated product and plant investments were a windfall to many locations. I understand the 6 BILLION negotiated is actually 8 BILLION invested in our plants so far this contract. Hopefully the UAW can gain more investment this contract.
  6. I know in 2010 - 2011 time frame hundreds of trades were reduced and working in production and no apprentices due to the economic meltdown. The UAW got all of the trades back to work AND new 400 apprentices now and by the end of the year will have a total of 600 apprentices is an awesome feat in a short amount of time. Seems you are 400 apprentices closer and may get an opportunity with the additional 200 going on before the end of the year. Good luck to you brother or sister.
  7. I have worked many locations in trades over the years and know trades in just about every location in south east Michigan. With the windfall of product and infrastructure investment bargained by the UAW in the 2011 agreement many locations continue to benefit from trades needs. Just to name a few the Rooge and LTP are extremely short of trades form this negotiated job security investment. Im sure if any trade is laid off in south east Michigan, there should be an opening for them as well as new apprentices.
  8. This story says there are 400 apprentices in the system now with an additional 200 by the end of the year...... Total 600 http://www.clickondetroit.com/news/ford-revamps-apprenticeship-program/32603042
  9. Secret??? It was posted on our union bulletin board last night---
  10. Its Official !!! UAW negotiated multiplier is...... $3.047 per every hour worked/compensated for all of 2014 Thank you UAW !!!!!
  11. People are jealous of our union and our good wages, excellent medical and prescription coverage, 20 paid holidays per year plus 5 weeks paid vacation per year, just to mention a few----- These "people" want to destroy all unions and workers right to organize and the ultimate benefit of union representation. They wont be happy until unions are destroyed and our pay and benefits stripped down to poverty levels of state minimums Sorry for the double post

  13. "As of today, a total of 314 entry-level employees have transitioned to the full "new traditional" wage scale, including 78 employees for the week ending February 22. These transitions are in accordance with the 20% entry-level formulas negotiated as part of the 2011 Collective Bargaining Agreement. For more information, please visit : http://uawford.org/entrylevel/" Source- uaw ford facebook page The Detroit News Claims this windfall of full wage transition will continue hitting 500 by the end of April Thank You UAW !!!!!!
  14. According to my Chairman the UAW negotiated multiplier has not been released yet. As he has posted the official multiplier in the past and its a letter from the UAW. He said he would post it as soon as its released.
  15. Sounds like you need a union to negotiate good benefits, prescription coverage and profit sharing like the UAW
  16. Should be around $3.50 dollars per every hour worked in 2014. Last year I think we were compensated $3.65 dollars per every hour worked in 2013. Should get you close at $3.50 if you are trying to estimate your UAW negotiated profit sharing amount.
  17. X2 Love the option of 7 days off in a row every other week.
  18. Up to 500 UAW-Ford entry level members will jump to master level wages by March as claimed by the Detroit News. Thanks to the jobs created under the 2007 and 2011 agreements. All of this in under 3 years, remarkable strategy coming to reality. Thank you UAW............................. http://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2015/02/03/ford-add-new-jobs-production/22835639/
  19. The Rouge needs 400 new hires--- Add that to the 50 and these entry level members will also be added to full wage God Bless the UAW for having the vision to save the autos, hire thousands more and continue to bless us with product investments in our plants,,,,,,,,,,,,,, our most valuable UAW negotiated benefit of JOB SECURITY :happy feet:
  20. Congrats to the entry level members !!!! The transition to FULL WAGES is starting. God Bless the UAW !!!!! Here is another article with more detail. http://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2015/01/30/ford-raise-workers-wages/22622905/
  21. Tier 2 have officially started their transition to full wages in just under 4 years
  22. Awesome---- Only 4 years transition to full rate.. God bless the UAW !!!!
  23. http://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/columnists/daniel-howes/2015/01/29/howes-ford-breakthrough-runs-risk-uaw-year/22564603/ We (UAW-Ford) are the highest paid/compensated autoworkers in America. Compensation includes our 5 weeks paid vacation, medical benefits, prescription coverage, 22 paid holidays per year, $7,000 profit sharing average per, $1,250 cola per year and $250 CB per year as well as bereavement pay, jury duty etc, etc, etc.... Over $10.00 per hour higher than Chrysler, GM, Asians etc........... The article is spot on for the fact if our wages raise too much, product investments and our treasured job security is at risk to going to mexico or over seas. I want a raise but don't want to risk product investment, reduced medical coverage, reduced prescription coverage etc or even worse going through another plant closing----- Hopefully we will get monetary/benefit gains in this agreement including product investments
  24. I have cleared $13,000 profit sharing the past 2 years as well as most trades,,,,,, thanks to AWS and overtime opportunities
  25. Dont take me off of AWS--- Hate to go back to traditional
