  1. There are more than you would think: Many people (like me) want to carry kids and their stuff and also have the ability to do some light or medium off-roading in a comfortable vehicle. The daily beating of a more hard-core off-roader (Wrangler) isn't an option so there aren't many options south of the $70K+ Range Rover. That's why I drive the JGC and my wife drives the Explorer. So here's hoping the Bronco or Ranger Raptor have a luxury version of the CD6 Explorer is a capable as a JGC...
  2. It might whenever it gets here, but Jeep is selling those Grand Cherokees (and Toyota those 4-Runners) today. Lots of Grand Cherokee owners buy lower-level models (Laredo, Limited) to get the steel springs and put a little 2" lift on it. Everest already has a lifted look from the factory.
  3. I would love for Ford to bring the Everest to the US. I know the concern is it would pirate sales from the Explorer, but it would also take some of Jeep's 240,000 yearly Grand Cherokee customers away.
  4. I have been driving a `15 Grand Cherokee Overland for a few years now. I was looking at an Explorer but ended up with that for the wife and got me something I could do a little off-roading in. I have watched vids of the T6 Ranger playing in mud and water, and it looks like a great JGC replacement. I really like the looks and size of the Ranger in these pics. I know it is modded a little but it still looks mostly stock. I have a friend with a `16 Colorado LTZ Z71 that is pretty sharp, but the interior looks like $20K in a truck that stickered for $41K (diesel was a big chunk of that). If Ford will give me 2.7EB, 10 SP, and an interior worthy of a $40K vehicle, the Ranger is my next vehicle (unless the Bronco is has been leaked and is amazing).
  5. Looks promising. Can't wait to see a real production version.
  6. Please, Ford - make this a reality so I can give you my hard-earned money.
  7. Very sharp - and really like the Tickford-modded version as well. Can't wait to see what we finally get here.
  8. Thanks for the info, Akirby. I had to look up "peltier device" to understand the process. Mrs. Ogre's 2016 Explorer seats felt cooler than cabin temp but not A/C cold, so I was curious how it all worked.
  9. are the cooled seats air conditioned or ventilated? Both our vehicles are ventilated, so I wasn't sure if anyone actually A/Ced them. Seems like it would be complex and expensive.
  10. ...didn't come in last place. http://www.motortrend.com/news/2016-lexus-rx-mercedes-benz-glc-lincoln-mkx-comparison/ I'm shocked, bit they actually said a couple of not-totally-negative things about the Lincoln.
  11. I hadn't noticed how much the back end was laid over on that rendering. I think it would actually look better with less slope. I was happy when Ford changed the front end between F150 and Expy, but I think the front end on the rendering looks great (especially with the fully filled-out wheel wells). Cant's wait to see real photos and see how the gas mileage improves with aluminum and 10-speed tranny.
