  1. There are more than you would think: Many people (like me) want to carry kids and their stuff and also have the ability to do some light or medium off-roading in a comfortable vehicle. The daily beating of a more hard-core off-roader (Wrangler) isn't an option so there aren't many options south of the $70K+ Range Rover. That's why I drive the JGC and my wife drives the Explorer. So here's hoping the Bronco or Ranger Raptor have a luxury version of the CD6 Explorer is a capable as a JGC...
  2. It might whenever it gets here, but Jeep is selling those Grand Cherokees (and Toyota those 4-Runners) today. Lots of Grand Cherokee owners buy lower-level models (Laredo, Limited) to get the steel springs and put a little 2" lift on it. Everest already has a lifted look from the factory.
  3. I would love for Ford to bring the Everest to the US. I know the concern is it would pirate sales from the Explorer, but it would also take some of Jeep's 240,000 yearly Grand Cherokee customers away.
  4. I have been driving a `15 Grand Cherokee Overland for a few years now. I was looking at an Explorer but ended up with that for the wife and got me something I could do a little off-roading in. I have watched vids of the T6 Ranger playing in mud and water, and it looks like a great JGC replacement. I really like the looks and size of the Ranger in these pics. I know it is modded a little but it still looks mostly stock. I have a friend with a `16 Colorado LTZ Z71 that is pretty sharp, but the interior looks like $20K in a truck that stickered for $41K (diesel was a big chunk of that). If Ford will give me 2.7EB, 10 SP, and an interior worthy of a $40K vehicle, the Ranger is my next vehicle (unless the Bronco is has been leaked and is amazing).
  5. Looks promising. Can't wait to see a real production version.
  6. Please, Ford - make this a reality so I can give you my hard-earned money.
  7. Very sharp - and really like the Tickford-modded version as well. Can't wait to see what we finally get here.
  8. Texas highways will be littered with self driving cars punted by beater duellies
  9. Thanks for the info, Akirby. I had to look up "peltier device" to understand the process. Mrs. Ogre's 2016 Explorer seats felt cooler than cabin temp but not A/C cold, so I was curious how it all worked.
  10. are the cooled seats air conditioned or ventilated? Both our vehicles are ventilated, so I wasn't sure if anyone actually A/Ced them. Seems like it would be complex and expensive.
  11. ...didn't come in last place. http://www.motortrend.com/news/2016-lexus-rx-mercedes-benz-glc-lincoln-mkx-comparison/ I'm shocked, bit they actually said a couple of not-totally-negative things about the Lincoln.
  12. I hadn't noticed how much the back end was laid over on that rendering. I think it would actually look better with less slope. I was happy when Ford changed the front end between F150 and Expy, but I think the front end on the rendering looks great (especially with the fully filled-out wheel wells). Cant's wait to see real photos and see how the gas mileage improves with aluminum and 10-speed tranny.
  13. Saw this on Car & Driver.com. I assume it is one of their renderings and not based on anything but rumors and assumptions, but I do like the looks of it. Does anyone know if it is based on any real information? http://www.caranddriver.com/features/2018-ford-expedition-lincoln-navigator-25-cars-worth-waiting-for-feature
  14. I hope you are right on this. I read some articles saying the same thing.
  15. That was a fun and entertaining 25 minutes. Definitely worth the time.
  16. Read a couple of different articles today both speculating the Ford Everest would be the new Bronco. That is s great looking SUV, and I hope they do bring it here. I like the wife's Explorer (`16) but want a comfortable, RWD/4WD SUV with at least 6500 lb. towing capacity for me. Everest/Endeavor/Bronco would be perfect.
  17. If I can't have the Bronco, can I at least have the wheels, tires, and stance on an F150?
  18. Oh @#%#! My blood was pumping and I was counting the days until I could get one...
  19. Exactly what I was thinking. You can see current Mustang perfectly mixed with Evos. And PLEASE make sure the wheels/tires fill out the wheel wells. That will help prevent a divorce that would happen if I bought a new `Stang AND a new set of wheels.
  20. This video will get your blood pumping! Amazing the difference with traction control on compared to off. http://www.autoblog.com/2013/08/07/shelby-gt500-roush-stage-3-drag-race-video/ Now off to buy PowerBall tix so I can dream of 1 of each.
  21. This is one stunning car. Earlier in this thread I think I saw someone say the production MkC was due in showrooms early in 2014. Does anyone know if that is pretty accurate or just a guess? I went and drove an Explorer tonight (very impressive), but if I can wait 12 months and get a production MkC very close to this I am wiling to wait.
