  1. I hear a VERY soft and brief beeping sound, but not every time I open the door.
  2. Music, playlists etc. on an iPhone (and I'm assuming iPods & other electronics as well) can be played via bluetooth once set up. It's super simple to do.
  3. Mine works great. It's the only voice command I've tried so far as I've only driven it about 15 miles. (Home from the dealer, then to the shop for the clear bra install.) I have left the voice command setting as default for extra prompting while I learn the system. That can be changed later when I get the hang of it. - First I said, "What can I say?" because I only remembered that much from reading the manual - The lil' lady told me to see the screen for options - I waited til I was stopped then after viewing my options I said "Climate" - When prompted, I said "71 degrees" - She repeated the temp, asked for confirmation - I said "yes" then it changed. I tried several different temps on my way to the shop. I did need to speak more clearly once for an accurate temp but that is to be expected as I learn. I'm sure there are multiple ways & a much quicker way to accomplish the above. I need to see if I can change the voice like we can on our Garmin Nuvi.
  4. When I was on the hunt to see a red 2013 Escape in person I found many of the local dealerships online inventory to be inaccurate for weeks at a time. It was very disappointing. I wasted a lot of gas on the hunt. Finally saw one, by chance.
  5. I think Transitman & Pillboy are twins separated at birth. You boys should probably look into that.(It's a compliment. You share the same attention to detail. I noticed it first in your check lists for picking up the new car).
  6. Nice to see carid.com does have a few things. Might need these this winter if the Ford liner isn't protective enough for the carpet in the drivers seat. http://www.carid.com/2013-ford-escape-cargo-liner/husky-floor-liners-904113.html
  7. Congratulations! I'm glad it passed inspections. Drive safe.
  8. Cool! Look forward to seeing how your list(s) work out so you can share with us. Ours will be awhile yet.
  9. Ahhhh, thanks! I was looking above at the quote bubble icon.
  10. Re: Going by the screen name you chose, I think Sassy is what you are leaning toward already, huh? Not necessarily. I may be a little sassy myself. Clearly I'm new & don't know how to use the quote feature.
  11. Welcome pillboy. The "Missus" has good taste.
  12. Now, it may be weird to many of you but I like to name my cars. Do you? The ruby red 2013 Ford Escape on order is going to be my favorite car so far, as an adult that is... (I did LOVE my 75 Monte Carlo in the late 70's when I was in high school. It was maroon in color & had maroon velvet seats. Oh, and the 59 Chevy I drove just before that was fun too... My friends & I loved the wolf whistle my dad installed in it. Good times!) Here are the names I have in mind so far. I have plenty of time to decide. I'm interested in suggestions and hearing your vehicles (past & present) names. -Ruby -Belle (for Red Bell Pepper:) – Urban Dictionary: “Belle means beautiful in French. Describing a beautiful, attractive girl.” -Sassy (I have a feeling she'll be a sassy car:) Have a great day!
  13. CUV? What Edmunds Says: The 2013 Ford Escape is a winner in the segment of small crossover utility vehicles thanks to athletic driving dynamics, an inviting cabin and plenty of useful high-tech features.
