  1. So I'm currently looking at my choices for my next car and the 2015 Mustang is at the top of my list. My main issue with it is winter driving, will winter tires be enough? I know the 2015 will have a winter mode according to some of the articles I've read, but I'm wondering how much I'll have to fight the car. Does anyone have first hand experience in their Mustangs that would recommend or not recommend the Mustang as a daily driver in Michigan? I really want one but I don't want to regret it too much in the winter, although the $4-$6k difference between an EcoBoost Premium and a Lincoln MKC could buy a good snow tire/rim combo and quite a few sandbags... Attached is the one I want, although I'll likely add the performance pack:
  2. No Dark Side?! But that was my favorite color =[
  3. I've had a headliner rattle and wrinkles in mine. Didn't know it was the headliner doing the rattling until I took it in to get that checked out. What really sucks is that Ford put a hold on headliner replacements while they work on a fix, has this hold been taken off? If so I'm going to be calling my dealer to see why they didn't tell me that I can bring my car in to get the headliner replaced. FYI mine also has the moonroof and I purchased it in October, so it's an early build as well
  4. When the Husky liners come out for the FFH I'd highly recommend them. I put them in my Titanium and couldn't be happier, they do the job really well! Also they're cheaper than WeatherTech and wash off easily with hot water. I cleaned my car hardcore inside and out (thanks to my dad for buying a garage heater for his garage, haha), and the mats kept all snow/salt out of my carpet, and anything that was left easily vacummed up since it wasn't wet when it got on the carpet. On the other hand, the High Gloss materials are starting to scratch already, which I'm curious if they'll look good after a few years of use. I might look around for something to replace it in the future if there's something availlable. Side-note: If you want to wash your car in the garage during the winter I'd recommend rinsing it off at a touchless wash/self wash and then using Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere. I haven't had any problems with it and it makes the car look as if it was just detailed. Just make sure to rinse off the grime though so you're not scratching up the paint with thicker dirt. I've noticed that touchless washes clean off the hard stuff but leave a fine film of dirt/water that needs to be washed off with a microfiber cloth and a good wash liquid. Plus you can use the Wash & Wax Anywhere for anything on the exterior of the car, including rims, windows and plastic parts. Anyone else try this compound?
  5. I'm curious if the Titanium has increased sound isolation vs the other models. My 2013 Fusion Titanium is really quiet, I compared it to my dad's new Escape SE and noticed a huge difference. I'll see if I can use one of those apps on the hwy, but it's definitely really quiet, never have to raise my voice when I'm talking to someone else in the car, plus bluetooth interference is nonexistent, people say I come in really clear on the phone.
  6. I've done the same and got as much as 13.5/13.8 I believe. The tank is technically a 16.0 Gallon tank, but Ford programmed it to say zero miles around 12.5 Gallons it seems to leave room. The red does make me nervous, I definitely don't want to run out of gas so I usually fill up around the 13.0 gallon mark and make sure to top off once (the manual says "Allow no more than two automatic click-offs when filling.")
  7. What Ford should do is replace the current headlights with the 2013 Mondeo all-LED lights. Then we won't have problems with dimming =D How cool would that be? Wouldn't happen, but one can dream haha
  8. I just got mine as well, and I like the fit but not sold on the plastic-like material, since it scratches. Mine came already scratched out of the box
  9. Checked on the way home from work, can't view direction list on right side cluster. Looks like Ford is keeping that away from non-Nav buyers. Also noticed that AppLink doesn't work on MFT either, which pissed me off since the regular radio gets it. On another note I'm nervous about the update, already had the USB Audio freeze on me, and it's never done that before. Proceed with caution...
  10. I don't have nav, I'll try and do that this weekend to see if I can get the direction list in the right side cluster. As for the update itself, once it finally installed, the whole system is noticeably faster. When I went to connect my iPhone to USB audio it recognized it much faster and I was able to select songs without the system hanging on me (so far). Haven't made a call or anything on it, idk if it'll make a difference in call quality but I'll let you know if I notice any other major improvements. For the most part the system is just faster and seems to be more reliable.
  11. Note: they're not kidding, this update takes forever! I probably look like a fool sitting in my car at my condo complex with the engine idling!
  12. Just watched this, and all I can think about as I watch it is "how dare they put a decal on the trunk!" I would refuse to purchase a $30k+ car that says "Town and Country Ford" on the back, haha
  13. According to the PDF: FORD: 2012-2013 Focus, 2013 Fusion, Taurus, 2011-2013 Edge, Explorer , 2013 Escape, F-150, Flex LINCOLN: 2013 MKS, 2011-2013 MKX, 2013 MKT NOTE THIS PROCEDURE DOES NOT APPLY TO FOCUS BATTERY ELECTRIC VEHICLES (BEV) AND FUSION HYBRID VEHICLES DUE TO UNIQUE SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS.
  14. It might just require the swapping of the wiring harness. When I bought new tail lights for my old '99 Grand Am it came with a new wiring harness that plugged into the socket where the old one went. I think this would make the most sense design wise, just have a different harness that you have to swap out
  15. The headrests are designed different from the Escape/Focus, they bend back so they don't obstruct my view at all. Also I don't need to adjust them to fold the seats down
  16. I looked at the manual regarding bulb replacement, it says "see dealer for replacement." That's really odd..
  17. Yeah I was unsure about buying them for $150 on the Husky webpage, but for $100 I had to get them haha
  18. I don't know why you have such bad mileage, I regularly get 300+ miles to a tank. Granted I drive more highway, but that shouldn't be that low!
  19. Here are some pictures of my car, below is a link to the Flickr slideshow. Let me know if you're looking for anything in particular! Here's a slideshow, I have too many pictures to share: http://www.flickr.co...ith/8173352664/
  20. On second thought I just ordered some myself, found them for $101.92 on www.autoaccessoriesgarage.com, couldn't pass up a great deal like that! http://www.autoaccessoriesgarage.com/Floor-Mats-Liners/Husky-Liners-WeatherBeater-Floor-Liners
  21. Has anyone bought the Husky Liners? They look legit and are actually lower priced than the WeatherTech mats. I'm considering them since I want the mats before Winter comes, plus it's been raining quite often around here too
  22. Thanks! And when I spoke to the dealer I heard that blue is the most popular color, although I haven't seen many blue ones on the road.
  23. Someone posted this in another forum, I wonder if you could get by with the Mondeo lights since it has the amber turn signal's except no amber reflector. I honestly might take a chance and buy these when the car comes out, although they'll probably be super expensive, since the Focus HIDs are $1790 =/. I'd totally get them if they were $1000 each shipped though, then sell mine for around cost or something http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zl4EoeOyr4
  24. I'll see if I can get some more pictures for you guys this weekend, the days are getting really cold really fast here in Michigan. This morning my car looked like a frosted flake, thank God for remote start. Anyways I'll do my best to give it a wash and take some more pictures. As for Titanium vs SE, here are some Pro's and Cons: Pros Intelligent access w/ push button start Remote start integrated into intelligent key (not a separate key fob) Leather is easier to clean than cloth (available on SE though) Heated Seats (also available on SE) My Ford Touch with 390 watt 12-speaker Sony Stereo (best sound on Surround setting in the Audio settings) LED Tail lights with Red Ring instead of reflectors (I've heard about this from previous forums) Ambient Lighting (impresses friends, haha) Gloss Black painted plastic on the outside, instead of the matt black plastic makes the car look more high-class (ie fog light surrounds, back of the car by the exhaust, etc) 18in rims standard, I like the ones that it comes with though I love the Y-spoke ones. I would've gotten those if they were available. Cons 2.0L required - I'd rather pay a bit less and have better fuel efficiency No start-stop - Due to the 2.0L there's no start-stop available. Not sure why they won't put it on the bigger engine since it would be nice to have better fuel efficiency. Black interior - I much prefer the Dune colored interior, the black is a bit bland Might be harder to find - I hear Titaniums are in shorter supply due to a shortage of 2.0L engines, this is what my dealer told me. No HIDs - this is neither an SE or Titanium specific complaint, I think the Fusion should offer HID lights as an upgrade, with LED DRL's like the Escape. I think this is a differentiating factor to make people trade up to the MKZ. I am strongly considering the Mondeo lights if they can be retrofitted to this once the parts are available. My Ford Touch is great tech, but far from perfect - the fact that it uses Resistive touch is just flat out annoying, especially in the new smartphone generation where everything is capacitive touch. Why make the center stack capacitive touch but the screen resistive touch? This makes no sense to me. Weather Tech doesn't have mats for it - Heavily considering Husky Floor Liners I'll see if there are any other pro's or cons I have and edit this later
  25. That's odd, I get 27 mpg average but a lot of my driving is freeway. I get between 22 and 25 in the city though. Then again I'm already 2k miles in, initially I was getting 25 highway. Definitely wait for your first 1000-1500 miles and then start worrying if it's still that bad.
