  1. I can RECEIVE txts & listen to them on iPhone 4 w/ iOS 6.X, but can not send and/or compose--just like the previous Sync version. But you probably meant 'send and/or compose,' which would actually be useful. :D
  2. Downloaded, Installed, and Reported Install all smoothly & without apparent issues. Install took about 24 min. Haven't had time to explore features/improvements yet. Had to re-pair phone & Nav Favorites Destinations. Didn't look at Radio presets. The clock reset to 1 hr slow; seems tied to the 'GPS Time' (don't have the exact wording in front of me) option.
  3. Those look really cool! Thanks for the installation tips too.
  4. Thanks for the heads up! 'Early' as in 'empty with two gallons left in a 15-gallon tank' early? :D
  5. I'd definitely like the update. Is it updated via USB/Flashdrive, like the MFT screen?
  6. As for the driving/not driving while installing debate (which may have been resolved already), Step 1 on the My Ford Touch "How To Install Sync..." page offers this (bold is mine): "Start your vehicle. You will need to leave the engine running for the entirety of the installation process. You can drive your vehicle during this process without interrupting the software update, or you can simply leave the vehicle running and parked in a safe place. (Please do not leave your vehicle unattended.) Turn on the audio system and set your audio volume at a low but audible level." http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/install-updates-sync-myford-touch I'm not advocating either way. Just received my A4 SD Card from Fed Ex today, so will be updating later this evening -- and plan to leave it in Park throughout the process. But in case anyone's wondering where that originated...
  7. Hey Howie411, I've got Parking & Nav too. It's a single, longish relatively high-pitched beeeeeep, right? I've noticed this a couple of times too, always when driving, seemingly at various speeds, and I THINK it occurs when other cars are around me. It really increased frequency the other day when in a slowed, bumper-to-bumper heavy-traffic situation (if it is indeed the same misplaced beep I've heard before). At this point I'm assuming it's a shorter version of a proximity alert, like you get when pulling into your garage -- until someone more informed tells me otherwise.
  8. Is that the Frosted Glass paint? Haven't seen in real life, and realize this photo is sweetened, but it looks fantastic!
  9. akirby: not much they can do about it short of a totally new rewrite with new hardware. Is it factual or opinion that they can't correct their issues through software only (this is a sincere question, not a challenge)? If it's the former, to what extent will the hardware need to be replaced? After repeated service returns @ less than 2000 miles, the dealership told me that the Escape and Focus MFT are still a mess, but Ford is focused on fixing them now that they've got Explorer and Edge MFT under control (through software fixes). I don't know if that's accurate -- especially since the Consumer Report Reliability report downgraded Ford to second-to-last place this week, due primarily to those models and their MFT -- but was certainly hoping upcoming patches/upgrades alone would fix a majority of the ongoing issues, for ease and likliehood of Ford actually fixing them. I have not seen Ford actually acknowledge any of the MFT/Sync issues publicly yet (though I may have missed that), because I'm assuming liability follows. I haven't given up. This Escape is my first Ford, and while I feel at least a little cheated at this time, I'm truly hoping and giving them every opportunity to regain my trust and win a loyal (and vocal :D) customer.
  10. Also, not sure if it's salient, but I'm still on VersionGen2 - V3.0.2, as V3.2X has not been offered to me yet via the 'Sync Updates' tab.
  11. log in to syncmyride.com, and the second tab from the left is 'Vehicle Health Report.' The top box (for me, anyway) says 'Report Available' if, you know, a report is available. Then hit 'Retrieve Report' inside that box.
  12. I just ran one today. IPhone 4, iOS 6.whatever. Did not receive email, but the Status Report was available on SyncMyRide.com. It told me I need to get gas.
  13. 'Open says-a-me' is pretty funny, though -- and a reasonable translation if you aren't used to seeing it written!
  14. Your no-badge look is fantastic, Pillboy. Are you planning to leave the Blue Oval as-is?
  15. While I'm certain a lot of people that ignore or grow 'immune' to their own Instant MPG, I still watched it fairly consistently in each previous vehicle I've had with that feature; even after years of driving: both as a self-challenged game to drive more economically, and also to learn the 'mpg personality' (am sure there's a better term) of different cars. Drive yours however you want: no judgement. I'm not above putting mine through its paces either. I'm just surprised that this fairly ubiquitous feature is missing, especially since I used it in another MFT of the same year (different model). BTW: if you want a challenge, try keeping that Flex's Instant MPG gauge above the halfway point!
  16. Before buying the Escape, I drove a rental Flex (2013, I think?) w/ MFT for a week, and it featured Instant MPG in the Driver's screen. So I assumed Escape MFT would also offer the feature, but it doesn't. The Flex version of MFT, BTW--in particular the quality and range of features/displays on the driver's LCD--was a lot nicer than the Escape's, which seems to be a stripped-down version. That may already be common knowledge on this Forum, but I'm new.
  17. I've been lookiing for Instant MPG since I purchased and have never found it. I don't think it's there, but would love to be mistaken: it's hard to beleive that with all the other tech features there's no Instant MPG.
