  1. hopefully we start hearing info on upcomming powertrains (class leading power and eco), and new features for the "new:" lincolns...oh and a performance mkz with the supoosed new awd
  2. Edit: mix redesign.......and the motortrend report clearly says mkm (coupe) mkc (sedan), now whether that's true or not is a different question.....let's hopes that we hear news of more future power trains (that have class leading power n Eco), performance driven awd (mkz sporty model) and more features
  3. Mkc redesign coming also
  4. According to bank of America's "car wars", the aviator will be revived, navigator redesigned, and a mka (coupe) and mkm (sedan) introduced between now and 2017.
  5. Supposedly, lincoln is working on a new (or heavily revised) awd system that is RWD based. This along with a more dedicated sporty suspension (not sure if it will offer different bits or just a more aggressive lincoln drive control), new engine option (new generation eb OR current gen 3.5 eb) and the arrival of lincolns answer to gm's mag ride should make for a sporty mkz....also, anyone heard of what exactly the "black label" will be?
  6. Rumor has it that a higher end mkz is in the works
  7. We all questioning them messing up the production version because they have done so many times before, the mkz was just ONE time in which they didnt
  8. Okay from the leaked pics, I need more though. Now to the features n production specs. Also Lincoln do not I repeat do not change hardly anything for the production version, as uve been known to do plenty of times before I.e. Lincoln mkt mks
  9. 8-9speed auto, more Lincoln exclusive tech and drivetrain. Also, a truly beautiful design since, this, NOT the mkc, is suppose to show the new design studios potential
  10. Since the mkc was suppose to launch in 2012, what will be the vehicle that launches for Lincoln in 2013, as the plan was 7 new or updated vehicles in 4 years ( not sure if the updated z and t fit into that plan)
  11. With the upcoming mkc concept ( or whatever it will be called) being shown a the auto show next week, hopefully we will see more Lincoln exclusive tech as well as a truly Lincoln exclusive engine and drivetrain (2.9 ecoboost, 8-9 speed tranny, revised awd???). Also at some point in time, Lincoln needs to change engine/tech branding (my lincoln touch, ecoboost) that is closely named after ford's.
  12. My exact point, ppl want Lincoln to be something that is impossible for them to currently be (rwd) because of budget constraints BUT when you even mention them doing something different, such as putting the 3.5 or upcoming nano in a more sport oriented model (not full out performance like amg or rs, more like a s5) its shot down as being rediculous OR "Lexus or BMW doesn't do that" THATS the point, even though Lincoln is not competing directly with either BMW or BENZ, they CAN have certain aspects of the car that blow them out of the water, and the 3.5eb or the upcoming nano (along with upcomming new tranny) with revised awd software would be get with minimal costs
  13. Even that is true, the 2.0 has been being noted as being noisy under throttle and I would suspect that has something to do which just how much the car weighs in ANY iteration. Plus the 3.7 acceleration times ate average at best even though it has 300hp. If the 3.5 eb will fit, out it in and give the mkz another reason ymto stand out from the crowd
  14. Excited to see the mkc at Detroit and hopefully the new navigator will be a styling/technological/ selling success
  15. I'm glad someone has the actual figures for weight. The mkz is a heavy vehicle, along with the fusion. That being said, if 3.5 eb's are available and the platform a transmission can handle the power/torque, then why not put it in the mkz?. And I do understand that in order for the 3.7 to work as a base they would need to somehow make the Fe closer to the base eb, but saying that the es doesn't offer a sporty edition as reason for Lincoln not to with the mkz is rediculous. Lexus can do whatever they want with the es because it will sell in bunches regardless. LINCOLN however needs to do w.e. they can to makes sales of the z increase as much as possible over the current model, and I'm sure giving it a 3.5 eb motor that they can advertise as being "most powerful/ fastest 0-60 time in class) wont HURT anything. Look with financial constraints they are limited in what they can do, so things that they CAN do such as stuffing in their award winning 3.5 eb should be one of the options
  16. And the fusion Itself is already portly and overweight so the Mkz which will surely be 200-400lbs MORE is surely overweight also. Plus I'm giving it a 50% chance that the 3.7 will become available in the fusion. AND while eb's do offer good fuel economy, they can however guzzler when the pedal is being pressed heavily and knowingly that females are a major part of the demographic n seeing as how the drive with a heavy foot, giving them an option with an engine that's not always spoiling up its boost will be vital, and once the fusion gets the 3.7, the mkz will have NO unique engines
  17. Out of the four or five reviews I've seen on the mkz, at least two of them have said the base lebron is noisy under throttle. And yes there is no hot rod es in existinence but the mkz is tryn to steal sales away from the es n offering a upgrade eb is one thing they can do different
  18. And anyone who thinks that the base eb in the mkz isn't going to be a noisy mill (which WILL be a knock on it as its competing with the es, a very silent car) while being saddled with the vast weight of the mkz is delusional
  19. Obviously Lincoln needs to do something that is a bit outside the norm, and since budget constraints don't allow them to do much in the way of platforms, then implement things they can control such as making a 300 horse BASE engine with a 340/340 hp torque mill as the step up. Because will the 3.7 is competitive in terms of power, its also being saddled around with lots of weight, ESP in awe guise with Which is why its acceleration times are only so so. Give the z the nano n lebron, n a more sport oriented edition n that would give it a a slightly different and better approach without taking hardly any $
  20. Seems as though Edmunds ( even though their article was 99% BS) agrees with me on making the 3.7 standard in the mkz, while having a 3.5 lebron otmr nano (call it something else for Lincoln) as step-up motors. Having the fastest times in the segment can prove vital
  21. Lincoln should be the fastest cars (in a straight line), so give the engine outputs with the highest HP, they don't have to outhandle everything but at least they could market the "most powerful car in its class" angle. This along with class leading fuel economy n the hybrid leading the way in its segment, Lincoln could really be setting up shop for future success. We all know rwd isn't cling soon n if it does it depends mostly on the Mozilla so why not make it lead in power, it sure wont hurt anything
  22. Sorry for the misspelled words, phone stays making silly autocorrects
