  1. OK good news, folks. After 15 minutes of trying over and over, I got it to work. Here are my findings: It seemed to work best when you actually follow the "leave the key there for 5 seconds" steps (or at least 3 seconds) to let the car read the key code. Watch the display to the left of the speedometer. It will actually show messages such as "Key program failed", which let me know I was at least on the right track. I believe you have to add one more "Push Start/Stop button" step at the end, to turn the vehicle back on. After a few more seconds, the final attempt was successful, it unlocked the doors, flashed the lights twice and displayed a success message on the console. I was happy to find that if you do the first part of the process with the 2 existing keys, it actually shows you the door locking code. This was useful since I lost the little wallet card with the code that the dealer gave me. :/ You don't need to have your foot on the brake for this to work.
  2. Thanks guys for the tips. @Murphy62 the manual says there are 8 slots for keyheads, or 4 slots for Intelligent Access key fobs (what I have). @akirby I was trying to do the steps exactly as written, but I will try again doing them faster. I figured the manual might be wrong, which is why I was asking here.
  3. I purchased an extra key fob for the 2013 Fusion Energi Titanium. It is a "used" (but looks new) spare fob which I purchased from Ebay from the owner of a Fusion titanium. It is exactly the same part as the two my vehicle came with including remote start button, and the seller even left the metal key attached on the ring (my coworker's theory is that his/her car was repossessed and he just sold this for some extra cash). I went through the programming process exactly as detailed in the owner's manual, but it didn't work. I tried once with my foot on the brake (so pressing start/stop actually makes the car ready to drive), and once with it off the brake. Has anyone else had luck with programming an already-used key fob? Do I need to take the battery out first to let it de-program, or something like that? Any tips would be appreciated.
  4. My old Audis had that in the wheelwells. It's to reduce sound transmission into the car from road noise, as others have mentioned. In terms of accumulating dirt, yes it does but if you give it a good spray with the hose, you'll see a lot of that dirt come out with the water.
  5. Picked it up today. Thanks cyberdman for making the wait easier!! Love my new Ford.
  6. Ordered the Nushield AAA for my Fusion Energi which I take delivery of in a couple days. Thanks also for the education on how hard drives and SSDs work too! Just kidding, I have a master's in Computer Engineering and run data centers around the world filled with thousands of servers and tens of thousands of SSDs. ;-) But I appreciate the 10% discount code.
  7. There's probably not much anyone on this forum can do to help you out, unfortunately. It's clear that you're upset and are threatening to take your business elsewhere. And the dealer, after whatever happened, encouraged you to walk. So either let things cool down, or maybe time to try a BMW.
  8. I finally got a brochure yesterday that I ordered months ago. No coupon. :-(
  9. Same here (except I went with Fusion Energi). I really wanted an Escape Hybrid, and I'm hoping that due to both models' success, and improving battery tech, we'll see an Escape Energi by 2016.
  10. That's a very good summary about Ford brand product feature methodology. I read the original post as, these features are out in the wild on the Fusion platform, so they *could* be coming in 2014, e.g. it is possible from a practical / logistics standpoint. But as you rightly pointed out, they may not be coming because of product management decisions..
  11. Is this true for San Francisco as well? My FFE was built on 3/25 and as of yesterday, is at Yuma, AZ. So I guess they're not unloaded at Phoenix, since it took a left at Tucson. Here is my vehicle status thread I've searched on here but can't figure out how to track the railcar. My dealer told me the same thing. I'm not seeing incentives other than the 0% APR on the Ford website. It says to contact your local dealer.
  12. Hi, Could I get an update on this one to see where we're at, please? F72024 / 9014. Thanks..
  13. Hahaha that would be awesome! I would pay an extra $50 for that.
  14. I asked in January and ordered at the end of January.
  15. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and specifically, I live in San Francisco. My nearest dealer said Yes to X-plan without any fuss or muss. YMMV.
  16. Hahaha!!! He'll probably get it.. or at least part of it. If he's only getting two of them, and wants to keep them around a while, no harm in that. Except to his reputation, but hey..
  17. Hello, Could I have an update on this order please? The order # was updated by my dealer: 9014. F72024 / 9014. Thank you!!
  18. My salesman called me yesterday, and my Fusion Energi Titanium is also scheduled for a 3/25 build. Ordered on 1/29.

  20. We did have the panoramic roof, though it was a bit rainy so we didn't have it opened up all the time. Can't wait to get in an MKX again.
  21. You say as I've ordered a first year Fusion :-) Hopefully they worked some of the bugs out during the months-long "quality control" exercise in Mexico.
  22. Yep, I was looking at Teslas, until I used their price configuration tool and added it up..OUCH! I can afford an $80k car, but I just don't see the value. There are so many other cars I would buy first at that price. The FFE (and FFH) are a very refined package and excellent value. The fact the vehicle comes from a European design give it a nice feel in terms of suspension and mechanicals. Like.
  23. Not yet but working on a level 2 setup. I own a condo, so I can't get an owner/builder permit, and so working with some electricians to get a quote to install a second meter and the rest of the setup, but don't have that process completed yet. On the upside, the municipal parking lot near my work is wired up with a charger -- which right now is free. So I have at least one half of my commute electrified..
