The Korean automaker follows other manufacturers producing small displacement engines such as Ford with it’s 1.0-liter Ecoboost and BMW, whose three-cylinder is integral to the i8’s hybrid system. Dubbed the 1.0 T-GDi Kappa engine, the new motor will be capable of producing 188 horsepower and 127 pound-feet of torque. This is thanks to a single-scroll turbo that has an electronically operated wastegate that increases efficiency. Lasers drill out injector holes that are configured to more evenly spread out the combustible mixtures in the cylinders.

Kia has a 188 HP 1.0L 3 cylinder. So not so impressed with 170 HP.

Jay Leno is going to buy one.

I's okay Rich, I sometimes write things I shouldn't too. I just want Ford to be the best they can be, and sometimes constructive criticism can help get the wheels turning in the right direction. No harm no foul.

As many as you. But if I was the one putting the bumper on one it damn sure would be on straight. Why? Because I have pride in my work!

Then tell me what is so hard about getting a bumper on straight with all this nice equipment they have to do it with? Crap all you need is good eye sight and a freaking level.

Really, it's a bumper for crying out loud. If they can't get that on a vehicle straight by now something is really wrong. A bumper that goes on every car and truck made, and they can't get it straight? There is no excuse for it NONE! I suppose the blowing out spark plugs in the 5.4 engines was okay too. And the breaking of spark plugs when changing them was okay too. Stuff like this shouldn't happen it's not like this is the first time they built engines and trucks.

Warranty cost maybe. Didn't Ford have high warranty cost last year?

So tell me why are the American car manufactures loosing market share to foreign companies? If it's nor quality then what is it?

Is this what they teach in business schools now a days? No wonder the quality is so piss poor on American vehicles. This is exactly why they are loosing market share to the Japanese and German car companies. Just push the crap out the door. And those aren't the only 2 options. Fix it right the first time is the best option. I would rather wait a few extra weeks, or months to get my vehicle if that is what it takes to get it it right. Instead I get a vehicle I paid a lot of money for and not be right and just piss me off. That is why customers are turning to foreign vehicles, plain and simple. Don't believe me? Just go ask a Toyota, Honda, MB or BMW owner why they bought one over a Ford or GM.

Come on Ford. Customers are paying a lot of money for these vehicles. Stuff like panel misalignment doesn't bod well with the customer and reflects badly of quality. It's not like Ford is new to the assembly line now is it? Why is it that it is so freaking hard to get panels to line up properly with all the measuring and CAD equipment to get it right? They have built in adjustments in the parts for a reason use it. They have process in place so this doesn't happen, don't they? They have quality inspectors don't they? So why is this happening? The passenger side front door on my 2012 Focus sticks out at the bottom over the rocker panel by a 1/4".

All these problems should have been caught at pre-production. No excuses!
